Enjoy the countryside on your doorstep when staying at Hillcrest House, nestled in between rolling hills and in view of the limestone hill Thorpe Cloud, this spacious cottage lies on the southern edge of the Peak District in Thorpe. After a day of walking around the local peaks, come back to the woodburning stove in one corner of the sitting area and put your feet up in front of the fire, with plenty of sofas arranged to accommodate the whole party. Put a family favourite film on, if everyone can agree on one, while a few of the group head into the kitchen to cook up a classic dish with the access to an electric double oven and other high-quality appliances.

When it's time to serve, send the word to gather around the splendid dining table for twenty-two guests and enjoy some quality time with your loved ones, while planning where your holiday will take you in the coming days. The ground floor is home to one of the ten bedrooms, this one being a king-size with en-suite shower room and a sofa bed, suitable for four people or two with their own private snug area.

All the windows look out to gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and heading upstairs will take you to another six bedrooms on the first floor, five king-size and one super-king-size, most with en-suite shower rooms attached. The bedrooms are adorned with pretty décor and plenty of storage for your personal items.

Heading up to the second floor brings you to the final three bedrooms; a king-size with en-suite shower room and two twin rooms, as well as a games room. On a summer's day you can head out to the garden, where there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some alfresco dining with a cold drink while the kids run around, take a long soak in a bubbling hot tub, or unwind in the sauna.
