South Lodge - Longford Hall Farm Holiday Cottages Reviews

Tracey
Great place to stay, lovely cottage, even though it's next to the graveyard you don't notice it much because of the beautiful garden. I wouldn't let yourself be put off by that. As this is next to the road, the traffic was more noticeable than the graveyard, even though that is not too much. Sat out there a few times in the sun. Great walk from the cottage down the tree lined road. Lots of places to visit. Places to visit, in the file could do with updating as the prices and timetables are from 2021 2022. I would advise not to use the food bin, as when I used it and tried to empty into the outside bin as requested, the outside bin was full and black, didn't look like it had been emptied at all. Not very nice to see. The contact with Gillian was always prompt and helpful. Thank you for your help.
The big problem was that no directions to the property were given, relying on client to use sat nav is useless for those that prefer a written local route. ,Google maps was useless Apple maps ok, but the best route via A50515 not chosen but complex way on unfamiliar local roads please revert to local route in writing
Fantastic week house is wonderful. Owners are very helpful even with a car Tyre change and can't thank them enough. Nice and quiet location, big garden and hot tub was added bonus which the kids loved on Christmas day. Would look to come back for sure. Thanks

A very wellequipped property in a quiet location suitable as a base for trips to the surrounding area. We really enjoyed our stay on our 13th trip to England and Scotland. Thank you for a nice week.

Cottage and it's location is very good. It was clean and well presented. Central heating of the house is controlled by the house owner and they have limited the higher temperature at 18 degrees. With kids it was very challenging and we struggled with cold specially at night. To save energy owner should upgrade house with double glazing windows instead of too much controlling central heating.

Great cottage in a great site to enjoy local sights and to visit the Peak District. The large hot tub is a pleasure. The cemetery next door is not made very clear in the advertisement. Would we have come if we knew about the cemetery? Probably not.
Fabulous property on the edge of a working farm, property had excellent facilities and was the perfect retreat after a day exploring. We Would not hesitate to return.. throughly recommend this property for anyone wishing to visit the Peaks.

Quiet area, good for a family of 4
Pleasant cottage. Lovely location. Very helpful

Jill made this extremely special for us and was excellent at keeping in touch and sorting out our queries. Loved the location and beautiful walks all around the property.
Lovely property in a gate house on quiet estate. Great local days out. My boys adored the hot tub!
Lovely lodge, lovely area and lovely lovely hot tub! !! Its a great base for Alton Towers but tucked away in the heart of the country where nature and the rural way of life surrounds you. The garden was just wonderful we are already missing it and the peace and quiet was just so welcome. The housekeepers went out of their way to look after us and despite the necessary restrictions to keep us all safe, we were given whatever we needed even a box of logs for marshmallows on our BBQ firepit!. Thanks for a super week in South Lodge!
Joanne
Fantastic cottage with comfortable beds and an amazing garden. We went out for walks directly from the cottage onto the farm estate. Would love to visit again if we get chance.
Rebecca
Great location and charming comfortable property and garden with beautiful relaxing views.
Graeme
Lovely owner, all touch points were positive. Cottage great. Recommended.
We family of 4 with 5 and 7 year olds had a lovely stay at South Lodge Cottage. Communication with the hosts before and during the stay was excellent, and the homemade cake on arrival was delicious although we didn't manage to finish it all!!. The cottage itself was very clean and was actually more spacious than we thought it would be. It was very well equipped with everything we needed for a three night stay. Smart TV was useful for catching up with Netflix with a glass of wine once the kids were in bed! Good central heating system which kept us nice and cosy, as well as on demand hot water. Great location too. We visted Dovedale, Derby, Sudbury Hall as well as going slightly further out towards Castleton. Unfortunately, we visited during Storm Dennis, so we couldn't make the most of the beautiful garden although our boys still had a run around out there and looked for fish in the pond. I imagine it would be fantastic on a warm summers day. I would highly recommend this cottage! Thank you for a lovely stay.
We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was clean and the lovely garden looks very nice and both are well maintained and have everything you need. We also enjoyed the delicious homemade cake and the pleasant contact with Gill.
Great cottage. Welcoming hosts. Lovely holiday, thank you!
Stephen
