This is a beautiful house in a very quiet spot, had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the garden, hot tub and sauna. Only downfall was the cooker took forever to warm up so cooking a meal took double the time it should. Loved the welcome hamper and prosecco, a really nice touch. Would definitely recommend this property and would return in the future.

Had a lovely relaxing time the weather fantastic for september, walks straight from the door the cottage got everything you need the garden nice and secure for your pets a recently erected fence put around back of garden to keep your dogs in, hot tub and sauna to keep every one happy highly recommended thank you
We really enjoyed our stay, we appreciated you coming out straight away to sort out the smoke detector issue even though it was late at night. The gift box and chilled bottle of wine was a lovely surprise. Your communication with us was excellent. Would definately recommend a stay here. Loved the Hot Tub.

Another wonderful stay. Pheasant lane is nothing short of amazing, the only problem we have now is choosing which one to stay in next as all on pheasant lane look fantastic! Communications were excellent, the garden very safe and secure for our dog who loved it, arrival hamper was of the loveliest quality and the hot tub well maintained with little intrusion. On top of that, you could stay put and walk everywhere all week and not get bored of the surroundings! Simply perfect. Thank you so much!
This cottage was perfect for us. Straight away we felt comfortable, especially as the large garden was enclosed and we knew our dog could sniff away and get settled quickly. The welcome pack was lovely. The hot tub was well used and great to see that Kieron visited to check it during our stay. We lost our daughter to the pod which she would have taken home if she could have! The sauna was lovely and leaving the extra towels for this was a lovely touch. We had such a relaxing stay and was given loads of information on arrival. We were reassured throughout that if we had any issues or needed anything Kieron was only a phone call away. We would definitely return
Disappointed considering the cost of the rental . Oven really dirty grill and oven door heavily stained food debris in 3 drawers cutlery utensil tray also had food in it and several utensils caked in food. Kitchen bin also dirty. Fridge and freezer in desperate need of a defrost and some of our food was ruined as everything soaked in water. Window ledges have collection of dead insects showing lack of deep clean for some time. Pizza oven and BBQ also unusable due to not being clean also wasazahing machine drawer has mould in it . Sauna never reached a hot enough temperature due to holes in structure. Main bedroom floor bath mat really hazardous due to tiled floor and unsuitable for children and elderly slipped several times. Asked for call from owners to discuss never materialized. What's frustrating is apart from the kitchen bin and the fridge all these things have been flagged in previous reviews . Cant see how 8 adults could comfortably exist as space small albeit as seen in the pictures. Would not recommend or return
This holiday property is nothing short of INCREDIBLE! ! We had the most amazing week away. The property is beautiful, clean and the beds were so comfy like sleeping on a bed of clouds! The hot tub and sauna were both lovely additions! As were the pizza oven and the BBQ Albeit the pizza oven does need a good clean and bbq was the only thing that I think does need replacing as there were holes in the bottom of it so hot coals were falling through bottom onto the floor! but other than that it was all absolutely great!!!! Kieran was AMAZING and responded swiftly to any queries etc, and met us on the first day to show us how everything worked! It was lovely to have someone at the end of the phone for anything you needed the welcome pack full of goodies and Prosecco chilling on the fridge upon our arrival were really special touches that went a long way! we loved it so much that we have arrived home and booked straight away again for next year We cannot wait to come back

Pheasant Lodge is set in a beautiful woodland, it's a luxury property and the master bedroom is huge! The kitchen is very well equipped. Kieron met us and showed us around the property and how to operate the sauna and hot tub. We also used the pizza oven and BBQ, plenty of outdoor seating, a lovely garden and very private & safe with it being the last property at the end of the lane. We were celebrating the 60th wedding anniversary of my parents who are both in their 80's, they found the ground floor bedroom and bathroom easily accessible. Also staying were my daughter and her husband along with my granddaughter of almost 15 months, she was so excited and spent so much time outside. There were 4 generations at the property and it suited us all, I stayed in the shepherd's hut, it was a very comfortable bed, hot water always available and I loved it. The walks to both reservoirs are truly stunning, we saw lots of wildlife and so peaceful. Fox Valley retail park is only 10 mins drive away and has every shop you could need and a beautiful Italian restaurant where the food was delicious. We also had prebooked Sunday lunch at McGilverays' Wortley Arms, as recommended by Kieron the food was excellent, the owners went above and beyond to look after 12 of us my sisters, niece and partner joined us. We want to thank Kieron for his great hospitality and was easily contactable if we had any requests or issues. I would highly recommend staying here, we all had such a lovely time. Thank you so much
This was such a beautiful stay! We really enjoyed our time here! Only 2 areas of improvement 1 the toilet in the log cabin seemed to get really full quickly. 2 set of instructions for the sauna would have been helpful Besides these 2 minor improvements we had a lovely lovely weekend. Thank you very much! The host was also soo accommodating when I asked questions, he went above and beyond and even supplied us with pizza making recipes.

Lovely location close to walks in wood and around reservoirs, a comfortable modern cottage and quirky shepherds hut. Added bonus is a welcome hot tub and sauna.
Stuart
Super property, clean, comfortable and in a great location
Beautiful place to stay in the Peak District. Lovely walks from the door, as well as a drive away. The kitchen was very well equipped and the hut tub was a wonderful addition. Loved our time
Gorgeous cottage, 6 adults and a small dog stayed for 3 nights. Comfy and clean with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. Amazing views. 100 recommend, we will be back.

Richard
Lovely location and nice place no dishwasher tablets or extra bin bags, or washing up sponges provided, and one of the oven pans was pretty grim. Very small social space for 8 people, so it perhaps isn't suitable for that, and also small tub for 8. But was fine, and overall only minor issues during a fun and easy weekend
Teresa
Cant fault the welcome or the property. Fabulous cottage in lovely setting. Might have been helpful to have been provided with some smaller sticks to light the wood fired pizza oven. We found it a bit tricky!
The property was clean and beautifully laid out. The views were amazing and we had a lovely time walking round the local reservoirs. We stayed as a group and there was able space especially with the cabin. The underfloor heating kept the property warm and having the jacuzzi in the garden was a special added extra. Would definitely recommend. Very relaxing break. Xx
Carole
Lovely cottage in a great location close to some great walks.
Claire
Beautiful cottage, lovely views and walks. Enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. The cottage was warm and the beds where comfortable. It was like home from home. Would recommend, would go again xx
Catharine
We really enjoyed our stay at Pheasant Lane there were 8 of us so we used all rooms and the shepherds hut there was one issue in the hut with a leak but this was sorted really quickly. The location is remote which was exactly what we wanted it is very hilly when you leave the property so be aware if you are planning on walking from here but the views are sensational. The house would benefit from more than just 8 plates and more place mats for the table as there were not enough when we sat at the table but other than that the facilities were great would definitely return if staying that way.
Michael
One word for cottage absolutely
Anne-marie
Excellent property. Met on arrival by the property manager Kieren who showed us around and explained how to use the facilities on site. Visited periodically to check the chemical levels in the hot tub. Clean and tidy on arrival, beach towels in abundance for use with the sauna and hot tub. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen with all the mod cons, just missing a balloon whisk. Pillows on the beds could do with replacing and the sofa's had really seen better days. Everything else throughout the cottage was to an exceptionally high standard. Location was perfect for us, piece and quiet, yet some amazing walks and local amenities close by. I would definitely stay here again. We couldn't have asked for
Matthew
Amazing week, well deffo be back.
Charli
Myself and my friends had an amazing say! Great help from Kieron who showed us around upon arrival and provided us with a lovely welcome basket. The house and its facilities were lovely and the area is gorgeous. We will definitely be visiting again!
The cottage is well equipped, clean and is all we expected. The owner is around and very helpful. There are two very pleasant walks nearby around the reservoirs but it is a fairly steep road back to the cottage if you are walking. The main disappointment was the fact that the garden is not enclosed for our 2 dogs. Luckily they were well behaved and respected the barrier we made for them with the garden furniture. The weather was disappointing but we made good use of the hot tub though didnt have time for the sauna. I would advise that the spiral stairs to the mezzanine are steep and not suitable for an older person. The main bedroom with the ensuite would benefit from the toilet being boxed in rather than open but that is just my preference. I stayed in the Shepards hut but showered in the main house as the bathroom is quite compact. I am just over 5ft and had to climb onto the bed so again may not be suitable for an older person. A kettle would have been a bonus in the hut so a cuppa could have been made if required. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well in this peaceful rural location
Andrew
The property was lovely and perfect for the occasion. The welcome package was great and Kieran was very welcoming and helpful. My only complaint was that we were only left 4 towels that had to be shared by 8 people. Sykes however have still returned the damage deposit 2 weeks later and have not replied to my message regarding this. We left the accomodation immaculately, antibacterial all used surfaces, all pots cleaned and put away, bed linen stripped, indoors hoovered and outdoors swept.
The person who met us at the property sorry I dont know his name was really helpful. He took his time to show us the property and also replaced some items such as a cot sheet and pizza spatula to ensure they were up to standard. He was very personable
Beautiful. well cared for and spotlessly clean property. Very comfy beds and very well equipped .A Tele in main bedroom would be nice. Keiron the manager was lovely and very helpful .all in all a great stay in a great location
Absolutely loved our stay. Kids loved sleeping upstairs and going in the hot tub. Lovely walks around the 2 nearby reservoirs. We will come back again on our yearly pilgrimage to the Peak districts.
Samantha
We had a most enjoyable weekend. The welcome box full of goodies and a bottle of wine in the fridge was such a lovely, kind gesture. The cottage was beautiful and very cosy. Great facilities and surroundings. The sauna didnt get very hot, but we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. Just one little issue, there was no hand rail or slip mat in the shower and my elderly dad who is disabled slipped when having a shower and there wasnt anything for him to grab hold of. Apart from that, we still all enjoyed ourselves. Thank you
Had a lovely time with friends over the weekend. Wet weather walk followed by a dip in the hot tub and a spell in the sauna before tea.
The door to the shower room in the shepherds hut would not close or open at all due to the catch not having any guide to suppress and when located was too tight a fit. The catch to the main double doors to the hut was not aligned to the striker plate hence they would not shut properly. The hot tub cover needs a bit of tlc.
Jacquie
A wonderful place to stay, beautiful walks right on your doorstep, accommodation is lovely and in a great location. Would highly recommend to others
Rachel
Disappointed we couldn't use the sauna due to gaps in the wood and grass growing in so didn't retain heat properly. Cleanliness in cottage was spot on. Toilet in gypsy cabin not emptied prior to arrival which meant it overflowed after day 1, not very pleasant and bad smell. Beds very comfy and showers in cottage lovely! Overall outside area scruffy and dangerous outdoor seating which a couple broke whilst we were there, whole thing needs replacing and tidying up. Plenty of parking. Secluded spot so quiet and peaceful.
Elizabeth
Lovely cottage and well equipped. Hot tub and sauna were a great hit there were 7 of us and a dog. Lyndsey is very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There was a very nice quality welcome pack with tea coffee and biscuits and a bottle of bubbly in the fridge. Weve stayed in many cottages and this was the best welcome pack. Just one comment, the sauna could do with a little tlc as there were a few gaps here and there and around the door so you had to be on the top bench to get the effect. Hence using more electricity Loved the area, nice and quiet and lots of nice walks from the property.
Absolutely fantastic time. Beautiful place, excellent facilities, wonderful place with stunning walks and scenery. We had good weather too. Lyndsay is a lovely lady. Very helpful, welcoming and easy to chat with. Only downside was the holiday ended.
