We had a fantastic stay in Meadowbank Cottage. Andrew and Dawn were great hosts. Sunday is the best day to get a trailer ride into the cow field. The cottage itself is clean and well appointed. We stayed in the upstairs double bed room with the children in the upstairs twin, both are built in the eves and have velux windows so may not suit someone who is very tall. Grandma staying in the downstairs double with the shower room next door - perfect. Separate towels were provided for the hot tub too

This was a fabulous break for my family. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The cottage is close to the seaside and other fylde coast attractions whilst being in a rural setting. There is not any reason to even leave the house either for those less adventurous. Loved this so much we have booked for next year already!

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed. A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family. From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out. Also popular is the kids tractor play area. For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station. The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU

about 21 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

about 21 Miles

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.
