This is the second time we have stayed at Heatherview cottage and it didn't disappoint. The cottage is spotless, has everything you need and more. So much room inside and out. The location is perfect for long or short walks and it is so quite you can hear the sheep. The owners were very accommodating to our needs. I would definitely recommend and c one back for a third visit.

Our second visit to this beautiful valley. The house was just as lovely as on our first visit. The hot tub was a great success this year as the weather was cooler. Lots of lovely local walks and colourful drives over the purple Heather moors to the coast.
James
Heather View is stunning! The kitchen has plenty of crockery and cooking equipment. There was a good selection of books, games, puzzles and DVDs for all ages, Ideal for our group of 4 couples as it had 4 beautiful bedrooms 3 en-suites and a family bathroom for the fourth couple. The weather wasn't great but we managed to get out and about. We can r ecommend the Coach House. Bird lovers - take a supply of food and binoculars. We saw jackdaws, goldfinches, tits, a wren and a tree-creeper!
Karen
Lovely stay at heather view . Beautiful house in amazing countryside . Very well equipped and comfortable . Would recommend wholeheartedly . We had an emergency while staying and my daughter ended up in hospital . The owners very kindly accommodated us for an extra 3 nights which honestly made such a difference to the whole situation - thank you !
Laura
Absolutely fabulous cottage. Clean, warm and well equipped with everything we could have wished for. Having so many bathrooms was a particular bonus. We were there over Christmas and having decorations up when we arrived was lovely. It's beautifully situated and the view from the living room (and hot tub!) is incredible. We didn't want to leave and will certainly be back!
John

Recently had a family weekend at Heather View, we had such a great time. The cottage is of a very high standard, lovely and comfortable, the owners have thought of everything, the layout of the living / kitchen area meant we could all sit around chatting/ playing games for most of the evenings. Great outdoor space which we made use of when the weat her allowed. Location was great, we visited a few local towns & villages and had 2 super meals out. Would definitely recommend stay at Heather View
Andrew
Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Everything about the property oozes quality and good taste. We would definitely like to come back next year and our son, who lives in Bucks, has just booked a week in May 2023, on our recommendation.
Rhona
This is a lovely house, thoughtfully equipped and very comfortable. Loved the sheep theme! The house provides a great base for exploring this spectacular and fascinating area of North Yorkshire. There are lots of lovely walks straight from Heather View. We had a couple of good meals in the Coach House Inn, where the barman entertained us with great stories about Rosedale and its history! Also recommend the Abbey Tearoom - lovely fare and great service. We all enjoyed our stay very much.
Louise
We had a wonderful week in the cottage. It is set in a gorgeous location with great views of Rosedale from all windows. There is walking from the cottage door, but it is easy to get to other places for days out. A walk in Farndale to see the daffodils is recommended. The house itself was comfortable and well appointed and the hot tub received a lot of use. We would really recommend this house, and we hope to return
Beryl
Wow! Wow! This word is often overused but not in this instance. We have stayed in numerous holiday cottages but this is the best yet! The cottage is nestled within the most beautiful countryside with stunning views from all aspects. Once here the car was never used as there were fantastic, scenic walks from the doorstep. The house itself is amazing with the owners having thought of everything a group is 8 might need. Beds and sofas were really comfy and hot tub amazing. Well be back. Thanks
Mandy

We had a wonderful week at Heather View. It is very difficult to find a property of this quality for 8 adults, where there is enough space for everyone and private bathroom facilities for each couple. The house is beautifully furnished and all the fittings are of excellent quality. There are fabulous walks from the door and the views are simply stu nning. We would love to return.

The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.
Betton Farm Visitor Centre - TF9 3PS

If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.

Dig is a unique and somewhat educational attraction in York offering children the opportunity to enjoy excavation, discovery, and digging. Within the site is a discovery centre, several pits filled with Roman and Medieval ruins and a science lab where children can take part in exciting experiments. Staff are on hand at all times to help the children and to ensure they get the most from the experience. The attraction can get busy during school holidays and pre booking is recommended.
