Woodlands Cottage Reviews

We had a lovely week at the cottage. A really good base for exploring North Yorkshire and a relaxing space to come back to after days out. The added bonus of a large enclosed garden for our dog to run around in which isnt always available with holiday lets. Joanne and Robert were great hosts and on site if you need anything during your stay.
Nicola
A perfect weekend to switch off from normal day to day life, the weather was nice for a change so we were able to sit out for breakfast and chill in the gorgeous garden, which is completely private. The hot tub was so relaxing and sheltered so also private. The garden has a few security lights up so was well lit for you to stay out in the dark. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well both nights. Kitchen facilities were great, everything you needed down to kitchen foil. We didnt really use the sitting room much as we were outside but it was cosy for the tiny bit time we did sit in it. Both hosts were friendly and approachable and explained the basics when we arrived. It was nice to know they were close by as the properties are attached if we needed anything without them being in your face, added security is always good. We loved the peaceful surroundings and being surrounded by horses and sheep when we ventured out for our walks was a real treat. The whole weekend from start to finish was perfect, couldn't fault a thing. Thank you for making us welcome and will definitely be returning.
Lesley
In a quiet spot but still an easy drive to visit the coast and all the tourist places. The house has lots of space, comfort bed with spotless bedding, the garden is safe for dogs the owners dogs on site and everything you need in the kitchen.
This was a great place to stay with our puppies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have recommended the cottage to our friends and family. Joanne and Robert were excellent hosts, in a perfect setting. We are looking forward to our next stay.
Steven
Very peaceful location, lovely enclosed garden and comfortable accommodation. Excellent hosts very chatty and helpful. Would recommend to friends and hope to return in the not too distant future.
This holiday home is amazing! Its very spacious and has a lovely fire place in the front room. The hot tub is so relaxing once you have done a full day of walking! The host is so lovely and made you feel right at home! Always there to help you. The best thing was waking up in the morning and seeing the horses out in the field! All the animals theres are super friendly. Would highly recommend the property and will definitely be back again!
Rob and Jo were great hosts, very welcoming and helpful. The cottage was perfect, very spacious and equipped with everything that we could possibly need and the garden was lovely. The wine, beer and chocolates on arrival were a lovely touch. Its location was so peaceful and quiet yet not far away from so many lovely places to visit like Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Goathland. We had a fantastic week and would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants a nice comfy restful break.
The cottage was lovely, well equipped and in a lovely rural location which is just what we wanted. Owners Jo and Robert were lovely and shared all the lovely places to go visit and lovely to speak to. It was nice waking up to the horses every morning. Would definitely recommend this cottage and will definitely visit again.

Had a really enjoyable stay. Owners were friendly and approachable, very knowledgable about the local area and attractions to visit.
Caroline
Wonderful cottage, in a quiet, peaceful setting. Clean, very well furnished and equipped. Greeted by owner who showed us round and explained how everything worked, was available if we had any problems. The garden is securely fenced so it gave us peace of mind for our dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had such a lovely week in this cottage. The house itself is gorgeous and idyllically situated with a huge beautiful garden. Our grandchildren adored all the animals especially the horses and sheep. Jo and Rob were kind and generous hosts who made our holiday just perfect.
Lovely tranquil setting surrounded by the owners horses, sheep and numerous dogs. Hosts Jo and Robert were very helpful, advising us of the local amenities and attractions. Would definitely recommend this property.

The pictures dont do the justice of this stunning cottage. It locates in the owners farm and also has good access to coastal towns. The property itself is very spacious with a beautifully maintained garden. Its enclosed so our dog could wander freely without me checking him constantly. He went to front open space too where he interacted with the owners dogs and explored their barn. The views over the field was just breathtaking. My partner stood by the window upstairs hours daily reading and enjoying the scenery there. The horses were magnificent and my partner just fell in love with Max. The sheep had a funny character approaching me for a petting. They kept barrbarring until I noticed them and gave them some good attention. The owner was very helpful and offered us to use their tumble dryer as the weather was wet during our stay. We didnt find kitchen scissors and tongs but managed without them, so didnt bother to ask the owners. The only thing I would say is the washing machine door seals might need a change. But it doesnt stop us visiting again. All in all, this is a great accommodation. Well done Robert and Joanna for your effort put into it
Fantastic find, lovely relaxing getaway, great hosts, rural feel but not far to get somewhere!
What an amazing little find, the cottage is clean, spacious, with a large enclosed garden with hot tub, the cottage has everything you need for your stay, rural but only 5 mins to the nearest pub, only half and hour and you have scarborough, filey. Thornton le dale is 5 mins away and has the best ice cream! Jo and rob are brilliant hosts, very knowledgeable about the area, they have horses so everyday waking up looking out the window that is what you see! We had a very relaxed and enjoyable week and cant wait to return
We had a great week at this lovely, secluded & peaceful cottage in the Yorkshire countryside. Ideally positioned to take in the sights of York, the North York Moors, Castle Howard and the resorts of Whitby & Scarborough. The hosts were very helpful and always available to advise on holiday matters. Lovely touches with log fire, jacuzzi, wine & chocolates and a warm welcome. The local Coachman's Inn in Snainton is a must with a great Sunday carvery! Definitely one of our better cottage breaks!
Andrew
Excellent cottage. Fabulous location. Perfect garden for your dog. Even my escape artist Cockapoo couldnt find a way out!! Lovely to sit out in the evening and just listen to the silence. WiFi is a bit hit and miss, but if you find the right spot its just fine. The cottage is cosy and comfy. Everything you need is to hand, including the owners who live next door and are happy to give local knowledge or just a good chat.
Caroline
A fantastic cottage to stay, ideal for visiting Scarborough, Whitby and the surrounding area. The hosts where very friendly and welcoming. Very peaceful location, with great views and made special for us by the presence of the horses.
Sheila
Really thoughtfully decorated and equipped and spacious property. Our dog loved the enclosed pretty garden. A great location with plenty to see and do roundabout. The hosts Joanne and Robert were really friendly and helpful. We had a 5 star stay here.
