Primrose Cottage Reviews

Mathew
Overall it was a lovely cute cottage, great views and on lovely grounds that are easy to access and travel around to local villages or the local town of Malton. There were a few points which I hope the owners won't mind us addressing, The radiator in the bathroom had a slight leak and this caused the bathroom floor to get extremely wet and slippy, there are a few marks on the walls and dents in the walls where previous guests had bashed the door handles into the wall causing little holes dents, the main issue we had was the bathroom, It should really advise as a bath with step in the bath shower as we had an elderly family member who struggled with this due to the height of the bath, as there were no photos of the bathroom we didn't know and might of considered booking else where, lastly whil the hot tub was warm the jets didn't work correctly and it didnt justify the up charge if there not maintained. We sadly wouldn't return based on these issues, and we didn't feel it was value for money unfortunately.
Hot tub is a real luxury after being out all day. Location of the cottage is great for getting out and about. Malton has some great places to eat, Hidden Monkey Cafe and Florios Italian restaurant are just a couple we love. Close enough to the coast for a day out. The Blacksmiths Arms at Westow does an amazing Sunday Lunch, and The Bakehouse Coffee Shop at Scampston is perfect for coffee and cake or handmade chocolates. Ivan is a brilliant host and on hand if you need. A truly relaxing spot for a holiday.

Just home from a fantastic 3 night stay at Primrose Cottage . We stayed in Derwent Cottage at the beginning of July next door and Primrose is just as good. It's a little smaller than Derwent but that doesn't detract from it at all. A perfect base to explore the area.
We had a lovely stay in Primrose cottage. The cottage was clean, well equipped with comfy beds. The area is very quiet and our stay was very relaxing with plenty of time in the hot tub
Lovely quiet area. Only problem I had was I stayed for a week and never realised there was no washing machine so this was a little problem. But apart from that everything was fine
Alison
Ivan and Heather have thought of everything for this lovely cottage. Very homely, comfortable and welcoming. My daughters and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was exactly what we needed for a nice relaxing few days. We will definitely book again
Beautiful cottage with fantastic views.
A very peaceful, well set up, home from home.
Brilliant location for peacefulness and has beautiful views! Good base to explore York, Scarborough and beyond. Ivan was an amazing host so helpful and responsive I wouldnt hesitate staying here again or recommending to anyone.
Keeran
The cottage was very clean and the location was easily accessible.
Comfortable accommodation with a magnificent view, tucked away at the top of an access road. Quiet and peaceful. The Yorkshire Wolds are a unique landscape with lovely walks and lots of other features including stately homes, the east coast at hand, and a World War II museum at Eden Camp. A hot shower, comfortable beds, and a good TV. I especially liked the bedside DAB radio! Only niggles Knives and vegetable peeler need replacing, and no egg cups!
A lovely cottage. Great location and stunning views whilst chilling in the hot tub. Great spot for getting around too Whitby, Scarborough, Filey, Pickering and Malton all within an easy drive. Sunday lunch at the Blacksmiths at Weston was amazing and Florios in Malton is a lovely Italian restaurant. Well be back
Lovely quaint cottage. Warm, comfortable, peaceful, lovely views and a secluded hot tub. Good parking and very friendly, helpful hosts. Plenty of places to visit and would definitely come back to this cottage.
Darryl
A kingsize bed would be a good improvement and the room is big enough to accommodate one. Overall a lovely home from home experience though and will be likely to use again.
Jeanette
Primrose cottage is an excellent property for a short break. The cottage is well looked after. Everything you need provided. It is in an idyllic spot. The views from the hot tub are brilliant. It is near to Malton and Pickering. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby. We found our weekend very chilling. The host is lovely and we could not fault this in any way.
Very cosy cottage, lovely views very relaxing
Ivan was there to welcome us as we arrived and gave us clear instructions on how to use the hot tub which was ready to use straight away. The cottage looked exactly like the photos and was perfect for our weekend away with a trip to Flamingo Land. Beautiful remote location with spectacular views. The check out time of 10am on the Sunday was slightly earlier than we would have liked and an extra hour would have been ideal.
Jessica
As promised it was a quiet and secluded cottage. It came with a helpful booklet of what was around. Cottage came with general wear and tear but didn't effect our stay. We came for some quiet relaxation and that is exactly what we got!
Hayley
We have had a great time at Primrose Cottage and will certainly book this lovely cottage again. The property owners were very helpful and offered good advice on local amenities. The cottage is in a beautiful location over looking the valley towards Castle Howard and beyond. Its position is ideally suited to visit the local area, in particular, York, Whitby, Malton and Scarborough. Xx

Excellent house with amazing views from the hot tub. Local village Malton is fantastic and lots of seaside locations Scarborough, Whitbywithin a short drive. Returned to this cottage twice within a few months as we enjoyed it so much.
Just home from a 7 night stay at Primrose Cottage, stayed there with my husband and 2 children age 13 & 16. We all loved the accommodation with plenty of space for us all. The cottage was well equiped, clean and in an ideal location to visit the surrounding areas. Hot tub was great at the end of the day. Lovely quiet location would definitely recommend this to others.
Lovely place. Well equipt and tidy. Good location for getting around inland and to the coast. Some great places to eat not too far away. Hot tub is great, so relaxing to sit in such a rural spot and watch the wildlife and the tractors and Ivan is readily on hand if you need anything.
Lovely well equipped cottage in a great location. Fabulous 180 degree rural views from the terrace & hot tub. Really friendly helpful hosts
We came for 4 nights and had an amazing time. Perfect for a quiet getaway, the most amazing views and a great hot tub to relax in. Would definitely go back again!!!!
We had a lovely 3 day weekend break to see in the New Year 2x couples. The cottage is cosy, warm and nice and clean with all the facilities you would need on a short break. The hot tub was great during the cold weather and the views are amazing. The local countryside is great for walking with a few villages in easy reach. We had a fabulous lunch in the Blacksmiths Arms in Westow, a very welcoming pub with great ales and food, highly recommended. Hopefully its not too long before we return to this beautiful part of the country.
Suzanne
Fabulous cottage and location, nothing bad to say, would highly recommend.
Carolyn

Katherine
Lovely stay. Property is lovely and cosy
Cosy cottage with stunning views.
Jessie
The cottage was pristine in condition and felt very homely. We had a wonderful stay and having the hot tub with the beautiful view really topped it off. Thank you for a lovely holiday!
Jennifer
The accommodation was clean and well equipped. Unfortunately the garden area is now not as big as the picture implies as it has since been sectioned off since we stayed previously and only a very small area is now available to play in. A tad disappointing with two boys who brought their garden toys along! Otherwise a lovely stay and good base for exploring the area.
Bernadette

Just returned from Primrose Cottage after a weeks holiday. The property is lovely, peaceful and quiet. The views all around are amazing. The hot tub is great to relax in and very well looked after and maintained on a private decking area. Plenty of facilities for self catering and lovely comfy beds. We met Ivan the owner who was very friendly. We explored Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington and York. Great property to stay the views are just fantastic from each window. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
Daniel
Excellent cottage. Very clean with excellent facilities and location. Owners were brilliant. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful cottage with stunning views. Cottage was very clean and the beds were really comfortable. On arrival Ivan greeted us and sent us some helpful links to attractions within the area. Complimentary biscuits, tea coffee and sugar was in the Cottage and fresh clean towels. Would deffo come back again.
Lorraine
Lovely clean and comfortable cottage. The views are amazing from all angles. The hot tub and decking are placed perfectly to take advantage of them. The facilities are great and have everything you need. The cottage is situated in a lovely peaceful area so you can totally relax , but close to lots of gorgeous places of interest. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend primrose cottage as a lovely place for a holiday
