Brimpts Cottage Reviews

Another wonderful week at Brimpts Cottage. Amazing location for a quiet get away.
Steven
Absolutely loved our stay at Brimpts cottage, perfect for our teenage boys the dog and me. Hot tub was beautiful after a long walk on the moor. The owners were very nice and very interesting, talking about the history of the place. Phone them and get a more realistic price.
Heather
It was as advertised very clean owners were nice

The cottage is in a fantastic location. We will be back as the walks were wonderful. The owner was lovely.
Zeer mooie locatie! Zeer volledig ingerichte keuken!
Fabulous location quiet, with views to die for from the sun room. Very clean sorry for not unloading the dishwasher and leaving some clean washing up on the drainer, I was there on my own and was unwell the last 2 days and couldn't manage everything Very steep stairs, which I was prepared for, no need to do squats for a while now. Negative point, for me the layout didn't work, the rooms downstairs are very dark, you need lights on all the time weather didn't help and I would have much preferred the fabulous sun room to be a sitting room with a couple of sofas instead of a second dining area for 6. This might just be me though. This room has amazing views straight out onto the moors and seems a missed opportunity. For people with dogs this property would be wonderful as two steps from the door and you are right in beautiful countryside. Hot tubbing in the dark in the rain and a gale is a bit special I've discovered Oh yes, an especial mention to Rick brother of owner who gallantly changed my daughters wheel when she visited and got a puncture en route thank you so much Rick. Finally, I was there on my own in what felt a little like the middle of nowhere townie in some pretty rubbish weather and I felt very safe. Did I mention the snowdrops on the track to the cottage? They are my favourite flower and boy was this the time of year to see them in droves thank you.
Brimpts Cottage was perfect for us with two young children and a dog. Its so well set up for families, the kitchen and bedroom arrangements are excellent. We loved long walks, with such easy access to the moors and woodlands, no need to use the car once you arrive. The hot tub was perfect for tired muscles after!
Amazing cottage in an amazing location

Great property, beautiful location for walking. Plenty of space. Added bonus of spotting a Stag Red deer in the woods above the cottage.

Beautiful cottage with lovely views from the outdoor spa Great walks from the ... Beautiful cottage with lovely views from the outdoor spa Great walks from the doorstep Friendly and prompt advice when needed Would love to return for a longer stay

Very disappointed to discover that after an appalling first nights sleep the listed kingsize bed has been replaced by a 4 foot 6 bed. We complained to the owners who apologised but said there was nothing they could do about it. We had minimal phone signal and didnt wish to spoil our week further by spending time trying to contact helpful holidays.

We were a party of 4 friends and we had a lovely stay at Brimpt's Farm. The house is homely, spacious and clean, with excellent facilities for cooking and socialising. It's right in the heart of Dartmoor so also a perfect location for a walkingsporting holiday too. The view from the dining room is stunning, and there is a riverside walk from the doorstep which we loved. Overall we had a great stay and would happily stay at Brimpt's again.
Had a wonderful few days at Brimpts cottage. We had a problem with the heating but with a few minutes of contacting the owners it had been fixed. The wood burner could do with a bit of attention but we did manage to get it going. We were 6 adults and a 2yr old. We had plenty of room. The view from the glass room at back of house was stunning and always changing due to weather conditions. The wifi was a god send as there is no phone signal Which in its self was a blessing.
Brimpts Cottage was a good choice for us. The kitchen had every thing that we needed, we used the stove daily for coffee at breakfast and cooked in the evening. The hot tub was lovely especially after a long walk, very relaxing. It was great to be able to walk from the cottage, avoiding the use of the car. The view from the sun room was a treat every day at breakfast and again in the evening for supper. For the 2 of us it gave us ample space to write the diary and download our photographs. A great place to stay, we look forward to returning next year. Diana
We had a fabulous stay. Awesome vies, very warm and comfortable cottage and very helpful owners. Will definitely return again!

Lovely location. Wonderful views of the moor from the extension on the back . The wood burner gave the lounge a very cosy feel. Well equip kitchen. For people of a certain age the stairs were very steep and very high steps. The seating in the lounge was low again for people of a certain age.
Good points hot tub with stunning views really good kitchen, everything we needed and good quality perfect location for walks on the Moor etc, felt secluded enough but also within easy distance to speak to owners if anything needed the heavy horses were lovely to see each day able to bring our 2 collies with us, they had a brilliant time too Not so good points incredibly steep stairs, tricky to get up and down double bed not the comfiest tv only had BBC1 and BBC2 which was a let down unless we were missing something! Overall a lovely time and very good value for money and helpful, friendly owners.
Absolutely wonderful location, and a lovely cottage to stay in.
Lorraine
We had a wonderful time the farmer was lovely. They came every morning to do the hot tub. The issue we had was the stairs which are very steep . Even the children has issues going up and down.
Debbie
Fantastic quiet location. We celebrated my sons 21st birthday weekend here, we spent brilliant quality family time together , hassle free
Stuart
Lovely place to stay, everything provided and the host met us which was nice. Just a chilled relaxing stay in spectacular surroundings. Thank you
Louise
Really cosy well equipped cottage in a wonderful location. Great walks from your door step. Super hot tub in which to unwind at the end of the day. We had a fabulous week here and look forward to returning some day. Gabrielle and Andy friendly helpful hosts. It is worth noting that the internal stairs are very steep which maybe a difficulty for someone with mobility issues
We had a really lovely stay. Stunning surroundings, warm and comfortable cottage. Especially loved having a hot tub in the evenings. We were two adults and two young children and found the house to be lovely and cosy
Amazing location with super helpful hosts. The hottub was fabulous after a long day hiking on the moor!
Everything was great. Lovely cottage. Very good area. Lots of walks around.
Catherine
Excellent location for walking.

From the warm welcome we received to the welcome warmth of the cottage we have loved our stay at Brimpts Farm. Although we had cold winds, rain, hail, sleet and snow, we were very comfortable and loved looking at the beautiful view from inside. Not that it stopped us from discovering the lovely walks on our doorstep, exploring woods, tin mines and the river of course. We particularly appreciated the owners immediate response to the fitting of a stair gate for our active toddler! Thank you so much we very much hope to make a return visit.
Great host on site and an awesome position of the cottage on Dartmoor.
Brimpts cottage was perfect for our holiday on Dartmoor, from the moment we walked through the door it felt like home. It's a nice location surrounded by beautiful scenery. The cottage has everything you need and the bonus of an amazing hot tub. The whole place is very friendly and welcoming and we cant wait to return. It's a perfect place for those with dogs too as there are so many walks to take, our dogs have had the time of their lives. We have arrived home feeling refreshed and looking forward to our next visit.
Fantastic cottage, exceeded our expectations. Great place to stay with all the amenities you could wish for including a hot tub. The owner was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous four days in Dartmoor, we will defiantly be returning. Many thanks.
