Periwinkle Reviews

We had an amazing week here at Periwinkle over Christmas. The housewas decorated for us , which was lovely. The property had everything we needed and the owners had even left us a welcome pack of lovely things. The hot tub was great and we loved spending time in it. Location wise, again this was perfect. A short walk to The Old Albion Inn where we had some fantastic meals and the stunning Crantock beach. We also used the local village shop which stocked everything we needed and more!
Lauren
Lovely property, we really enjoyed our stay! Felt like a home away from home with all amenities you needed at the property. Very spacious in the house and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The hot tub in the evening was lovely!
Mervyn
An excellent and well maintained property. Everything we needed was there and the hot tub was a key feature for us.
The house was incredibly homely, decorated to a very high standard and was just lovely. We arrived to the most wonderful selection of goodies from a local farm shop together with tea, coffee, milk and bread generously provided by Tom and Kelly the owners who couldnt do enough to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. There was a small problem with the hot tub and within 30 mins of sending an email, Tom was knocking at our door and as he himself couldnt fix it he put lots of pressure on the hot tub repair people to come straight out and repair it despite it being their busiest time of the season. Everything worked fine after that. All in all a fantastic comfortable holiday home in a great location with really lovely and attentive owners. Thank you for a great holiday!
Amazing property, listed with photos that represent the reality on arrival. Short walk to Crantock beach. Weve already booked again for next year.
Nicola
We loved Periwinkle cottage. It is bright and airy, comfortably furnished both inside and out and very clean. The garden was great for the dogs and was really private. We spent most of our time outside as the weather was great and there was shade from an umbrella. There was a welcome pack which was the best I have ever had at any self catering accommodation and was much appreciated. There was an issue with the road while we were there which was nothing to do with the owners. We were kept informed at all times about what was going on. The house is 5 mins from the village and its pubs and shops. Great walks from the house. Will definitely be back
House was spotless when we arrived and exactly what we expected for a Sykes property. Welcome treats were a lovely touch. Location was amazing with only a short yet hilly walk to the gorgeous Crantock beach!
Crantock is our favourite place so for us this house was a great find, we found it clean, comfortable and very well equipped a lot of attention to detail giving it a home from home feel. It is just a short stroll from village shop and two pubs, beach about 15 min walk and lots of other beautiful walks from the door. Lovely sunny garden with comfortable seating and a great hot tub, would we come again, absolutely!
Beautiful cottage had a really good holiday. Hot tub was fabulous thankyou for the welcome gifts would definitely go back
Ronald
This is our 3rd stay at Periwinkle and the house is as immaculate as it was the first time we stayed 2 years ago. The owners are fantastic and really want to make sure you enjoy your stay. The location is amazing with so much to do close by and the beach is only a few mins walk we cant wait to come back again Katie Collis Travel Counsellor

We were blown away by how helpful the owners were and how thoughtful they were. I contacted them a couple of times for queries and they were absolutely fantastic. Periwinkle is a lovely, modern, clean property and we couldnt have asked for anything else during our stay. I really didnt want to come home!! Would stay here again time and time again.
Kirsty
Perfect stay. The owners seem to have considered all the things they would like to have available and put those into the holiday home. From extra towels, to the artisan bread and cream tea what a welcome after a very very long drive. Always something to see along this coast, we had a lovely week, with the weather being rather good when you consider the time of year. Some dramatic seas to watch!
Lovely property and beautifully maintained. The owners were amazing and super responsive. We loved our time at Periwinkle and will definitely book to stay again.
Annette
A lovely property furnished to a high standard, on a small development in Crantock. The owners left goodies on our arrival and their contact details if we should need them. The village store is a short walk away and stocks most essentials. The beach is a longer walk down a quite steep slope, but for the less mobile there is a large car park. We would not hesitate to return to one of the best holiday properties we have stayed in and hope to return in the future.
Darren
Lovely property in a great location. Just five minutes walk to the two local pubs and five to ten minutes walk to the beach.

The house was a perfect size for our family of 4. It had everything thing that we needed and a lovely spacious kitchen. The rooms were decorated very tastefully. There was a little garden at the back that was a great little sun trap but so nice for sitting out as it had nice garden furniture and umbrella for shade. The fabulous hot tub was an added bonus for evening time. The beach was a 20 minute walk away and very handy. We would definitely stay here again.
Alison
Clean, well equipped and furnished property. Excellent welcome pack. Quick reply from the owners on a small query. Quiet residential area but close to facilities and beach. Would be happy to stop there again.
Superb house and location, exceeded expectations and the jacuzzi was a bonus. Great communications and efficiency from host. All had a great holiday.

We had an amazing stay at Periwinkle. The house was clean and smelt amazing as soon as we walked through the door. The house was a perfect location for us especially for walking with a dog. It was absolutely perfect and we'd definitely stay again in the future.
A gorgeous home in a quiet village but close enough to all major sites Newquay, Eden Project. Crantock beach itself was as good as any we visited during our stay and our dog loved being let off to run around as it was so quiet.
Andrea
Such a beautiful house, everything we needed. Delicious treats left for us in the fridge, fantastic hosts. X
We had a fabulous stay at Periwinkle. It had everything you could want and more! I will definitely return in the future and would highly recommend.
Teresa

This is the second time we have stayed at Periwinkle and can't wait to come back again soon! The house was as immaculate as it was when we were the very first guests over a year ago, it has everything you need and more. Its a perfect location to explore the area, easy walk to the most beautiful beach and the hosts will go out of their way to look after you its a 5 house. Thank you again for a great stay
Hannah
We had a wonderful stay here and were genuinely really sad to leave. Location is great short walk to beach, pubs and little shop or within 15 min drives of wonderful surrounding towns and bays. Owners were lovely and right nearby if you needed anything, including recommendations. Truly one of the comfiest and best equipped self catering places we have ever stayed. We would be back in a heartbeat should the price be right sadly I think we are priced out for the summer season so might have to stay a winter getaway for the two of us and the dog. Thanks so much guys!
We spent a wonderful week at Periwinkle in January. The house is warm, beautifully decorated and has excellent facilities. It's spacious, comfortable and strikes a great balance of modern and coastal chic. It's a 10 min walk to the beautiful beach at crantock and the coastal path, and there is a little shop and pubs a short walk away. The house is set in a quiet residential road, backing on to fields, it really is a peaceful location. The garden is fully enclosed, so perfect for pets There is also excellent garen furniture and the hot tub is brilliantly thought out secluded and perfect for relaxing looking at the incredible starry sky. There were many personal touches from the owners that made the stay even more special thank you for a wonderful holiday!
A lovely place to stay, new build with all new appliances & furniture, very clean, nicely decorated, well appointed & well looked after. Owners are really helpful, thoughtful, & leave a generous welcome pack. Hot tub is great and sited in a useful outside space. We had no problems & no complaints. Crantock is a fabulous Cornish coastal village, so overall this is a great place to stay.
Myself and my wife stayed at this house for our last minuet honeymoon as our flights got cancelled and we was not disappointed. The house itself was stunning and had everything you needed. The hot tub was also very good and we found this to be an amazing was to relax in the evening. The location is ideal to as you are right next to the beach and only a 10min drive from Newquay centre. We visited lots of restaurants and one which we particularly like was a restaurant called 12 beach road this place had some lovely food and we would recommend. The owners of this beautiful house are also incredible, they are very helpful and if you need anything they are on hand to help whenever possible. Myself and my wife will 100 be coming back here again
On the whole the house was clean and sufficed. The lounge STANK of dogs. The bedding was cheap and the pillows were awful cheap and flat. There were stains on the mattress protector so obviously it wasn't cleaned since at least the visit before. There was absolutely nothing available such as oilfoilwashing up liquid which may be a covid thing but VERY unusual in our experience for nothing to be available and the hot tub the only reason we were prepared to spend as much on 1 week away was not very good because it only worked on 1 side at a time. The pump clearly isn't strong enough for the size of the tub. Overall, it didn't stop us from having a nice week away but we definitely wouldn't return the price asked was just pure greed taking advantage of people needing to go away in this country during the half term. Shame. If it wasn't so expensive we wouldn't have expected so much.
Darren
Lovely property in a great location at a really good price. Have already booked again for next year.
Brenda
The only thing that let the holiday down was the weather. The house was beautifully decorated and pristine clean, it had everything you could want and the furnishings were first class. We would certainly go back and recommend this property to anyone that enjoyed first class accommodation.
Jonathan
Periwinkle in the beautiful Village of Crantock is a fantastic modern family house which was perfect for our family of 5 2 adults & 3 children. The house itself is well maintained and finished to a high standard throughout and was equipped with everything we needed. The garden is again finished to a high standard, well landscaped with the added luxury of the hot tub which is perfect for relaxing in after a long day exploring beautiful Cornwall. Whilst we didnt take our dog on this holiday the garden is well secured for a four legged friend. The hosts left us a very nice welcome gift as well as a lovely introductory greeting card. They were always on hand and very approachable if we needed anything. Crantock itself is beautiful, the house is located at the top of the village and the beach is a 1015 minute walk. The coastal sand dunes are great to explore and the views are stunning! We took an hour walk along the coast towards Holywell Bay where youll often find a colony of seals its well worth the walk!! In terms of amenities, Crantock has a well stocked local shop as well as two pubs and a coffeecake cafe The Jam Jar which doubles up as an excellent Pizzerie in the evening which also serves cocktails! Wed not hesitate to recommend Periwinkle and its lovely hosts!
Denise
Lovely house and great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Odette
The house is in the perfect location, with Crantock village and beach just a short walk away. The house was extremely clean when we arrived and had everything you could wish for when on holiday. The owners even left us a lovely bottle of Prosecco, a card with some scones, clotted cream and jam..... just perfect after a long journey down. We would throughly recommend
We booked Periwinkle for a family holiday to celebrate my 60th birthday. It is a lovely house with all you could need for a stay and spotlessly clean. On our arrival we found a bottle of bubbly and a cream tea which was a lovely touch and very welcome. Also I must mention the hot tub which again was a bonus. Periwinkle is in a good location for exploring the area and Crantock beach is fabulous especially as we had a small infant with us. We would recommend The Old Albion Inn for food great Sunday lunch. All in all it was a fab week for my birthday and I would definitely recommend Periwinkle.
Excellent home from home. The owners have thought of everything. Lovely relaxing holiday with everything you could possibly need or want.Couldnt fault a thing. The hot tub was the icing on the cake in this fabulous holiday home. We will definitely be booking again.
We had a lovely, relaxing week in this cosy new house. Well appointed with everything we needed. The hot tub was very popular. The house is well located for visiting many local beaches and attractions. We walked from the house to Holywell calling at the Bowgie Inn on the way. Crantock Beach 10 minutes walk away. Ideal for family get togethers.
