Periwinkle Reviews

Beautiful property, quiet location. Easy walk to to pub! The house was well equipped with everything you need for a wonderful holiday. The dogs loved the garden and the hot tub was special with robes provided when the dogs were inside the house couldnt trust them near the water ! A lovely welcome card and gift from the owners who were more than helpful when we asked a question. We will definitely be back.
We had a fantastic stay at Periwinkle. Perfect location. 1012 minute walk to the Crantock beach where you can find scoop ice cream and a military truck selling coffee. Two pubs, village shop and jam jar restaurant best pizza around in walking distance. The property itself was very clean and had everything you needed for a weeks stay. The garden is well maintained and the hot tub was a great addition. Bonus being dog friendly, our Labrador had the best time. Thank you also for the welcome gifts on arrival, made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back soon.
Debbie
We had a wonderful stay at periwinkle. We come to Crantock every year its normally our holiday with our dog but sadly she passed away the week before our trip
Jessica
We had an excellent week in Periwinkle. We arrived before check in and had a lovely chat with the owner who only lived a few doors down. Happy for us to park on the drive until check in. We walked to the local pub in Crantock for a lovely lunch after a long drive and then walked down to the beach. Perfect location. Home from home with everything you need. Lovely welcome treats even some treats left for our dog. Very clean property. Wouldnt have known other dogs had stayed in prior. We will 100 be back.
Very clean and comfortable, well appointed property. Garden well laid out and the hot tub was well used. Very nice goodies on arrival. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the fact they lived very close by meant rapid response to any problems.
Pamela
Lovely property in great location. Thank you for the bread, cookies, jam, milk and chocs. A very kind addition which made us feel very welcome.
Perfect. We use sykes 2 or 3 times a year and nowhere we have been before comes close to this. Location was perfect 5 minute walk to 2 pubs, just over 5 minute walk to the beach and a shop around the corner. Owner lives local but left us to it, just offered assistance if we needed it. Hot tub was brilliant and clean as was the whole property. Robes included, plus prosecco waiting in the fridge along with scones, fresh cream, fresh jam and biscuits. Dog bowls also supplied by the owner. Coffee machine with pods included and instructions for all appliances. This really was a home from home.
Lovely house. The extra touches were lovely
Had a wonderful sunny week. This was made even better because of the quality of this holiday home, its an excellent size and brilliant location. Will definitely be booking again in the future.
We had enjoyed our stay. House is in a quiet position in the village of Crantock. Light, airy and well furnished living spaces. Three double bedrooms, comfortable beds with good linen, robes and fluffy towels in the bathrooms Used the hot tub every day and even on the cooler days the private garden is a sun trap. Would return in a heartbeat!
Ashley
Wonderful base for a week in Cornwall. House was very clean and comfortable for our stay. The hosts have thought of all their guests needs, very welcoming and easy to contact if needed. Thank you, hope to return!
Great property in our favourite Cornish village, it is clean, comfortable and well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. It is ideally placed with a shop, 2 pubs, beach and beautiful walks from the door. The owner who lives nearby is responsive and extremely helpful.
Fabulous house, in a quiet culdesac on the edge of the village. Kelly and Tom who live a few doors away have thought of just about everything and the welcome pack was a lovely touch, with scones, clotted cream, milk, biscuits, a bottle of fizz and much more! The house is spacious and well appointed and includes everything you need, including towels, linen and even loo rolls! The electric car charger was simple to use and much needed after our journey and the hot tub was excellent too. Just a few minutes walk to the village which has a small supermarket, two pubs, The Albion and The Cornishman, both offer good food and a choice of ales and a 10 minute walk to the beach. Note it's very steep uphill coming back!. A wonderful home from home, in a fabulous location providing a fantastic holiday experience. Highly recommend.
Claire

An absolutely wonderful Holiday Home, everything we could have wished for, just like being home from home! Very comfortable beds, furniture in the lounge, bathroom and showers excellent. The hot tub was an added bonus. An excellent fenced enclosed garden, perfect for our dog! Lovely Garden furniture, which unfortunately we never used with the weather! Kitchen facilities and equipment brilliant. A wonderful welcome pack from the attentive owners. We can't wait to come back!

It is kept to a very high standard and the owners are always on hand to help and ensure you have the perfect stay, they have all the special touches to make you feel welcome. We had an amazing week here at Periwinkle over Christmas. The housewas decorated for us , which was lovely. The property had everything we needed and the owners had even left us a welcome pack of lovely things. The hot tub was great and we loved spending time in it. Location wise, again this was perfect. A short walk to The Old Albion Inn where we had some fantastic meals and the stunning Crantock beach. We also used the local village shop which stocked everything we needed and more!
Lauren
Lovely property, we really enjoyed our stay! Felt like a home away from home with all amenities you needed at the property. Very spacious in the house and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The hot tub in the evening was lovely!
Mervyn
An excellent and well maintained property. Everything we needed was there and the hot tub was a key feature for us.
The house was incredibly homely, decorated to a very high standard and was just lovely. We arrived to the most wonderful selection of goodies from a local farm shop together with tea, coffee, milk and bread generously provided by Tom and Kelly the owners who couldnt do enough to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. There was a small problem with the hot tub and within 30 mins of sending an email, Tom was knocking at our door and as he himself couldnt fix it he put lots of pressure on the hot tub repair people to come straight out and repair it despite it being their busiest time of the season. Everything worked fine after that. All in all a fantastic comfortable holiday home in a great location with really lovely and attentive owners. Thank you for a great holiday!
Amazing property, listed with photos that represent the reality on arrival. Short walk to Crantock beach. Weve already booked again for next year.
Nicola
We loved Periwinkle cottage. It is bright and airy, comfortably furnished both inside and out and very clean. The garden was great for the dogs and was really private. We spent most of our time outside as the weather was great and there was shade from an umbrella. There was a welcome pack which was the best I have ever had at any self catering accommodation and was much appreciated. There was an issue with the road while we were there which was nothing to do with the owners. We were kept informed at all times about what was going on. The house is 5 mins from the village and its pubs and shops. Great walks from the house. Will definitely be back
House was spotless when we arrived and exactly what we expected for a Sykes property. Welcome treats were a lovely touch. Location was amazing with only a short yet hilly walk to the gorgeous Crantock beach!
Crantock is our favourite place so for us this house was a great find, we found it clean, comfortable and very well equipped a lot of attention to detail giving it a home from home feel. It is just a short stroll from village shop and two pubs, beach about 15 min walk and lots of other beautiful walks from the door. Lovely sunny garden with comfortable seating and a great hot tub, would we come again, absolutely!
Beautiful cottage had a really good holiday. Hot tub was fabulous thankyou for the welcome gifts would definitely go back

A very comfortable cottage in a great location
Lindsey
We were blown away by how helpful the owners were and how thoughtful they were. I contacted them a couple of times for queries and they were absolutely fantastic. Periwinkle is a lovely, modern, clean property and we couldnt have asked for anything else during our stay. I really didnt want to come home!! Would stay here again time and time again.
Kirsty
Perfect stay. The owners seem to have considered all the things they would like to have available and put those into the holiday home. From extra towels, to the artisan bread and cream tea what a welcome after a very very long drive. Always something to see along this coast, we had a lovely week, with the weather being rather good when you consider the time of year. Some dramatic seas to watch!
Lovely property and beautifully maintained. The owners were amazing and super responsive. We loved our time at Periwinkle and will definitely book to stay again.
Annette
A lovely property furnished to a high standard, on a small development in Crantock. The owners left goodies on our arrival and their contact details if we should need them. The village store is a short walk away and stocks most essentials. The beach is a longer walk down a quite steep slope, but for the less mobile there is a large car park. We would not hesitate to return to one of the best holiday properties we have stayed in and hope to return in the future.
Darren
Lovely property in a great location. Just five minutes walk to the two local pubs and five to ten minutes walk to the beach.

The house was a perfect size for our family of 4. It had everything thing that we needed and a lovely spacious kitchen. The rooms were decorated very tastefully. There was a little garden at the back that was a great little sun trap but so nice for sitting out as it had nice garden furniture and umbrella for shade. The fabulous hot tub was an added bonus for evening time. The beach was a 20 minute walk away and very handy. We would definitely stay here again.
Alison
Clean, well equipped and furnished property. Excellent welcome pack. Quick reply from the owners on a small query. Quiet residential area but close to facilities and beach. Would be happy to stop there again.
Superb house and location, exceeded expectations and the jacuzzi was a bonus. Great communications and efficiency from host. All had a great holiday.
