Stonewold Reviews

Emma
We just got back from an amazing weekend at Stonewold with 11 of us celebrating our daughter’s 40th. Honestly, the bungalow felt so cosy and spacious, perfect for everyone. The grounds are stunningand we loved chilling in the conservatory - great sound system and loads of fun playing pool. The hot tub, saunaand air hockey were definitely highlights. Our dogs had a blast running around in the fully enclosed garden too. It was such a lovely find, definitely recommend for a big get-together!
Mark
Great spot for big families with kids, plenty of spaceand all the gear to keep everyone entertained!
Oliver
This place is fantastic! Loads of activities for everyoneand honestly, we found it hard not to have a good time. Everyone loved it!
Emma
Lovely stay, the grounds are stunning and the location couldn't be better! Definitely recommend.
Martin
Had a lovely stay! The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped. A local map would be handy though, satnav often leads down farm tracks.
Jessica
We travelled from Spain with the family to celebrate Mum’s 60th and our niece’s 8th birthdayand honestly, it was a cracking winter escape! The cosy cottage had everything we needed and more. The layout was spot on - we could hang out together or have our own space, with the open kitchen next to the games room. It felt like a home from home, super well stocked for both winter and summer visits. We all had a brilliant time. Thanks, Hide - definitely recommend!
Sam
Really enjoyed the family-friendly vibe and the facilities here.

We had a lovely stay at this place, despite a few minor hiccups. The fire didn’t have gas initially, but they sorted it out quickly, which was good. It would really help to have a better info pack with house rules, Wi-Fi passwordsand suggestions for local activities. For the price, I thought a few small touches could have been nicer. The place could do with some maintenance, probably just after the holidays. Still, the views and starry nights were absolutely stunning-definitely a highlight for us!

We had a lovely stay! The owners are super friendly and welcoming. The location is peaceful, perfect for relaxing. The facilities like the pool table and air hockey kept everyone entertained. The quirky decor adds character. However, the second ensuite is really tiny - no space for a toothbrushand no hanging space for clothes. Also, the kids’ room is accessed through the games room, so no late-night gaming. And sadly, the garden isn’t fully dog-proof; there's a big gap at the bottom of the gate where dogs could escape. Still, overall, a nice place!

If you're after a peaceful getaway in the countryside with stunning views, this property is just perfect! There was loads of space and plenty of entertainment for both adults and kids. Super comfy and really clean too. Shops are a bit of a drive, around 20-30 minutes, but that didn't spoil our holiday at all. Would definitely recommend this house and we would absolutely stay again!
Adrianus
We really couldn't fault the bungalow or the hoist. Everything we needed and more was there! We did have a small issue with the fridge, but it was sorted out right away. The location and facilities are absolutely stunning. Our family wanted to move inand we felt so, so spoilt. The linen was spotless, just like the bungalow itself. We're quite picky about clean bedclothes and toilets...lol...but even we couldn't find anything to complain aboutand believe me, we looked! We'd love to come back soon. The only downside was the weather, but the kids were still really happy!
Jaden
We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage has a homely feel and there’s so much to do! Definitely recommend a visit to Speke mills, which is close by!
Vilius
We don’t even know what to say; everything was wonderful! We really enjoyed our stay. The house is in a beautiful, quiet place that's so peaceful. The rooms are light and spacious. The beds are super comfortable! There’s a fireplace, sauna, hot tuband board games. There are just so many activities! We rested well, celebrated my birthdayand had a great time. Thank you!
Marianne
This place is just a great home from home! The comfort and coziness make it feel like you're really at your own place. We loved how everything was so well maintainedand the atmosphere is just lovely. Perfect for relaxing after a long day. Would definitely recommend!
Dymra
We had a lovely holiday that brought four households together, complete with five young kids! The accommodation and extra amenities really ticked all our boxes for a super holiday, even though the weather wasn't great. The owners were very helpful whenever we had questions or requests. We would definitely go back! Thank you!
Jules
We’ve just come back from a brilliant week at Stonewold! Our group had 9 adults, 4 kids from 11 years to 8 weeks, plus our dogand we all had an absolutely fantastic time. The customer service from Juliette and Roger was amazing, really top-notch whenever we reached out. The welcome package was such a nice surprise. The facilities are seriously great—everyone loved the pool table, hot tub, air hockeyand sauna! The kitchen is super well-equippedand we adored the rural spot, especially since it’s close to some fab surf beaches.
Josie
We thought this was a wonderful place to stay! It was really well equipped and the grounds were just fabulous. The owners were super helpful with any questions we had. The welcome pack and goodie box was such a nice touch - cream teas on arrival were a lovely surprise!!
Sadie
What a beautiful holiday home, just bursting with character and loads to do! The rural location is perfect for some peace and quiet, yet it’s super easy to get to Bude, Westward Ho and other spots. The pool table, pizza ovenand hot tub were a real hit!
Tharina
What a fantastic cottage! All the rooms were comfy and had wonderful furnishings. There was so much to do for both the children and adults. The grounds outside were beautiful, making it a lovely place for the dogs to run around. We’re a family of 11 adults, 5 childrenand 2 dogsand we had no complaints whatsoever. Absolutely fantastic holiday, best week ever!
Anna
This cottage had spacious grounds, comfy bedsand a lovely hot tub! However, it felt very cluttered and we reckon it could really do with a good clean and a bit of modernisation.
