We really enjoyed our time at this house. There were a few issues like no gas in the fire which was sorted quickly. Also definitely needs a better information pack with house instructions and Wi-Fi passwords, information about surrounding things to do would have been nice also. For what we paid I did expect a little more of the small touches. It alRead moreso needs a bit of maintenance but that may be as we came just after the school holidays. Still it was lovely plus the views & the stars, wow! Hide

Lovely owners. Lovely quiet location. Great facilities i.e. pool table/air hockey. Quirky decor! Negatives:- 2nd ensuite is tiny with no space even for a toothbrush + no clothes hanging space in this bedroom. The kids room is accessed via games room so no games after bedtime!! There is NO completely enclosed garden for dogs!! The space is open fromRead more front to back and front gate is 5 bar with some chicken wire at bottom but s large gap at bottom most dogs can get through. Hide

The cottage is well equipped throughout, there is lots to do on the premises (even if it rains) we had a lovely time, the hot tube was a nice thing to have available. The dogs really loved the freedom of the large garden which is enclosed The owners were not on site and left us to it, although they did make it clear that they were at the end of the phone should we have any problems.. But we found that everything we needed was to hand, we took our own salt and pepper (none at cottage).
Hayley
If you are looking for a quiet break in the countryside with spectacular views then this property is the one! There was plenty of space and lots of entertainment both adults and children. Very comfortable and very clean. Shops etc are a good 20-30 min drive away but didn't effect our holiday in any way. Would 100% recommend this house and would def initely stay again.
Adrian
Couldn't fault the bungalow or the hoist. Everything we needed and more was supplied. Had a small problem with the fridge which was dealt with immediately. Absolutely stunning location and facilities. My family wanted to move there and we felt very, very spoilt. Linen etc was spotless as was the bungalow. I am very strange about clean bedclothes an d toilets...lol...even I couldn't moan and believe me I looked. Would love to return soon . Only let down was the weather but kids were still happy!
Anne
Lovely, well equipped, well maintained cottage with excellent facilities in peaceful location.

Really lovely property, it had so much to do in and around the house and the rooms all king beds meant everyone was happy. Very spacious and the views were beautiful, great for the kids and dogs.

What a fabulous cottage. It was a lovely safe environment for the children and the dogs. The cottage bedrooms are split into two areas. The triple room which is connected to the king size room and the double room with the en-suite are at the side of the conservatory . The other three doubles are at the other end of the house and share the large fam ily bathroom. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could want. Plenty of seating areas inside and outside for all 10 of us,

We enjoyed five days with our family in Stonewold, everything we needed was there. The hot tub was very popular with our young grandchildren (and their parents!). The quirky interior design ideas were a talking point. Good value for money.
Kayleigh
Absolutely stunning place with beautiful views the owners have gone above and beyond to make sure you will be fully equipped with things you need for the amount of people it occupies. Super luxury and comfort, warm, cosy and just perfect for a rural escape. With things to do inside you dont even have to leave (plus u wouldnt want too) we will 100% stay here again. The kitchen is full of modern equipment never seen anything like it but was easy to use and figure out. 5stars for this property.
Jeff
A magnificent cottage in a wonderful location. Very well equipped with everything a party of 12 (6 adults and 6 children) would need to make a stay thoroughly enjoyable. If weather good there are plenty of things to use/enjoy outside but as it was for us - weather awful- there is much available to keep all happy inside. First impressions are excell ent especially when you find the cottage is warm with a nice welcome pack. The host could not have been more helpful accommodating and friendly.
Maryanne
Great home from home.

Our holiday was to bring four households together for a family holiday with five young children, the accommodation and the extra amenities ticked all our boxes to make it a super holiday for all, even when the weather wasnt brilliant. All I can say is that staying at Stonewold was absolute bliss. It is a home from home, everything you could need is there and the welcome pack was great after a long journey. I loved how quiet it was, a great location to get away and just relax. The garden was great for the dogs and children and all the entertainment amenities were great, plenty to keep everyone happy. A great place to get away and spend time with our family. Would love to go again.
Richard
The property was perfect for our large family with plenty to do keep them occupied for all ages and whatever the weather. The owners have thought of everything and were very helpful. However the property is now desperate for a bit of TLC and we suffered a serious fly infestation which lasted the week.
Julie
We have just returned from an amazing week at Stonewold. Our party consisted of 9 adults 4 children ranging from age 11 years to 8 weeks and a dog and we all had a fantastic time. Customer service and care whenever we spoke to Juliette and Roger was second to none. The welcome package was a great touch. The facilities are fantastic the pool table h ot tub air hockey and sauna were particular hits! The kitchen is really well equipped and the rural location is fab too as is also near surf beaches.
Jocelin
Wonderful place to stay - well equipped and fabulous grounds. The owners were so helpful with any queries. The welcome pack/goodie box was a lovely touch - cream teas on arrival!!

We have just returned from a week away in this fabulous cottage and are already looking at when we will be able to return! It has everything you could need and more! We went to celebrate my birthday and had family and friends, and their dogs, to stay with us and we had the most fantastic time. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained and, when the kids were all tucked up in bed, we grown ups could relax in the sauna and the hot tub with a glass or two of bubbly. Can't wait to go back!.
Sarah
The house is incredible with lovely views and plenty of space. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed exploring the garden and were safe as it was all enclosed. No one was bored at anytime and the kids always had something to do. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a large family and pets, it is far enough away from everything to get out of the Hus sle and bustle but close enough (about 20minutes) from beaches, attractions and lovely walks.
Sarah
Beautiful holiday home bursting with character and things to do. Great rural location for peace and quiet yet easily accessible to Bude, Westward Ho etc. Pool table, pizza oven and hot tub were a hit!

We spent a Lovely Christmas, in this well spaced out house. Plenty of room for 11 of us and our 4 dogs. Kitchen is full to the brim, of everything you need (and more). Hot tub is a brilliant size. Make sure you take salt, pepper, oil, kitchen roll and tin foil with you, as its not provided. No accessible fields within walking distance, to let your dogs have a good run, but Melbury forest is within a 7 minute drive.
Emily
