Little Fir provides the perfect base from which to explore the Hartland peninsular, North Devon and Cornish coasts. We would recommend this property to anyone. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday was available. The cottage was really clean and had plenty of room, and plenty of hangers! Steve and Jana were so welcoming, the would stop and chat every time they saw us, even though they are running their farm. Beware the hungry Labrador Bailey ! He can open the front door if you dont lock it, he wants cuddles and treats! The cats are very friendly too. We were lucky enough to see a new born calf too

You are literally on the farm, baby cows outside your kitchen window. Hosts are lovely and nothing is too much trouble

The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed. It's in quite a remote location, but that suited us just fine. It's a 30 / 35 minute drive to most tourist hotspots and big supermarkets, but it was lovely getting fresh milk from the dairy in the village, which has a crazily fabulous milkshake bar! We had a couple of rainy days, but really en joyed chilling with Netflix and the hot tub (and salted caramel milkshake). We would definitely come back for another stay.

This is a wonderfully clean, well equipped + spacious cottage. We used both bedrooms and the beds are extremely comfy. There's an ensuite shower room as well as bath and an ample supply of hot water. You can light the log burner if needed on the colder nights. We found the rural location fine for what we needed and loved exploring the Bude beaches. Off season (March) not everything is open but not an issue for us and the cows were calving so there may be some mooing. Such is country living!

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families. There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings. Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast". There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga. As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
