We had a lovely sunny week in the Hobbit Hole and our son really enjoyed the theme (he's been inspired to listen to The Hobbit audio book and is part way through the actual book). The cottage is lovely and the nods to The Hobbit are great, we enjoyed the themed games and books. Location wise it is brilliant, very short drive to the shops or beach w ith the Thatched Inn and sunset walks on the coastal path very accessible on foot. The hot tub is great to relax in after a busy day. Recommended!
Michelle
Really lovely hobbit inspired accommodation. You have everything you need in the cottage. Although you feel Iike you are in the middle of nowhere everything is only a short drive away.
Gary
We absolutely loved the Hobbit Hole property!! Everything we could possibly need was provided, and some lovely extras. It is perfectly placed for walking from the property, and central for lots of places to drive to. Dogs are really well catered for too!!
Jennifer
The Hobbit Hole is delightful and wonderfully thought out / presented. Its proximity to Westward Ho is great, especially for families and dog owners, as its great for both. Note for dog owners: the cottage garden is quite small and would not be fully secure for a small dog, but our two were fine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and even though the p roperty is very close to the owners home, we felt that we had privacy. Lovely welcome basket and Prosecco on arrival, and good hot tub.
Neil
A wonderful place to stay. So much to do close to the holiday home. There is nothing the owners haven't provided. It is warm, clean and comfortable. The local information pack is brilliant, recommend others use it.
Charlotte
We loved our time at The Shire! The thought and effort out into its creation is evident throughout the property and we loved its quirkiness! Our dogs loved it too and were so relaxed there! Were already planning on returning with family! We didnt have a pen to write in the visitors book so wanted to say thank you to the owners for a lovely stay!
Christopher
Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous area. Everything was clean and tidy, the kitchen and utility room was well furnished with everything we needed and more. The bed was comfy and the hot tub was amazing. We loved the spacious clean bathrooms and the underfloor heating. The cottage has obviously been built with a lot of love and care - carving the names of the dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf into the wood in the living room was an especially whimsical touch. Stunning area for walks too!
Emily
What can we say. Wow. We had the best time. The secret shire is well equipped and in the perfect location. We stayed with our 6 year old daughter, 2 year old son and very excited 6 month old puppy. They all had the best time. Our puppy did manage to escape the garden and was greeted by a friendly gentleman who was seeing to the horses. We used his long lead in the garden after that. Everyone was so friendly. The hot tub is great after a day exploring. Can't wait to go back.
Adam
Beautiful hide away and perfect location especially for walks with dogs. Loved our holiday here
Jenni
Such an adorable place. This place definitely made our break extra special. Nice quiet area to enjoy the countryside with an easy walk to the coast.

Amazing location, owners very friendly and helpful, such a beautiful property to just shut the world out once you step inside from a long walk with your dogs Thank you will be definitely returning
Laura
A very cosy, homely cottage with thoughtful touches such as the hamper. The cottage had everything we needed and we had a lovely stay.
Philippa
Lovely place to stay. Owners were on hand if we needed anything but left us be (really useful with anxious dogs!) So close to the cliff coastal path and the welcome basket was a nice touch.
Lucy
The cottage exceeded our expectations. We holiday in the UK a lot and the Secret Shire is by far the best equipped and most welcoming. The garden is great for the dogs and the hot tub is awesome. The welcome pack is lovely, everything you need on arrival (tea, coffee, biscuits & bubbles!) Even if you are not a Lord of the Rings fan, the cottage has a lovely quirky feel, you feel instantly relaxed. We will remember this holiday always, especially as the Queen passed - RIP Your Majesty.
Sarah
Lovely quirky cottage felt like you where in middle earth with all the attention to detail. The welcome baskets was such a nice surprise after a long drive The Thatched Inn down the road was great to have a walk to after a day on the beach the food was lovely or if not a relax in the hot tub. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family.
Peter
It is truly a remarkable place situated in a nice location. Plenty of places to visit in the local area. The hot tub outside is a great attraction. The area in front of the building is nicely paved and grassed as well as fenced to keep the dog safe . The frontage is a suntrap so besides going in the hot tub there is somewhere to enjoy the sunshine
