7 Streamside Reviews

This was our 2nd holiday in one of your groups cottages and really enjoyed the hassel free aspect. Followup on our stay was respectfull by the reception team and helpfull. Other residents were respectull and we had good privacy. Fantastic walk for us and our dogs meters from our front door. Loved the spot
Claire
Wonderfully tucked away and private. Perfect for our dog as balcony area was enclosed. Lovely to sit in the hot tub and hear the stream and the birds. Loved how the hot tub was screened off as well. Can't wait to go back
Hannah
The lodge is beautiful inside and out, absolutely stunning, great little welcome pack on arrival and lodge cosy and warm. Would definitely stay here again!! Its so quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommended to anyone who would like a peaceful get away.
Lovely place to stay! Third time at Stonerush Lakes and can never fault the place. Properties are always well kept and never any issues! First time of adventuring into The Old Mill was a warm welcoming atmosphere food was lovely!
Steven
The setting and space is ideal However the decking area could be spruced up a bit Plus Hot Tub cover part rotting needs replacing and set of recycle bins near the Mill reception would work better. . The Mill facilities were first class Steve and Belinda
Only one very little problem the tap main bathroom on bath was loose and we were unable to use, but we used ensuite which was brilliant . Hot tub was good . Site well maintained and in a lovely setting Streamside cabin was immaculate on arrival well set up for our needs Would recommend to family and friends Throughly enjoyed our stay at Stonerush Lakes
Arrived Friday 18th to friday 25th August 2023. Upon arrival, we went to the reception, where we were greeted by Sally. She explained everything that we needed to know, and went onto our lodge. When we entered the lodge, it was clean and inviting. This then became our home for the week. The team were lovely and welcoming and made us feel at home for the week ahead. To say that the lodge was dog friendly, you wouldnt be able to tell as the lodge was in a prestine condition. The starter pack was very informative and handy with immediate essentials. The site was well maintained throughout our stay, and was peacefully quiet during our holiday. We cannot wait to book again.

When we arrived we noticed immediately that there were no shelves in the fridge door, a lightbulb in the twin bedroom was strobing and the waste bin under the sink didn't have a lid. That first night we then noticed the flashing light on the smoke alarm in the main bedroom. The following day we discovered congealed fatoil in a frying pan and a dirty towel in the ensuite. To cap it all, the TV broke which I appreciate can happen at any time. There were a few other issues but I don't want to appear overly critical. These things are not the end of the world but it was disappointing to have to report these issues to the reception staff. Simple checks before our arrival would have highlighted these problems. On a positive note all staff were lovely and friendly.

Ref 7 Streamside upon arrival at this lodge we were more than disappointed with it, it was very untidy and not in the condition one would expect, my wife went into the bedroom and pulled back the quilt as their was a smell, we found human hairs on the bed sheet and the smell of urine at that point we wanted to go home, The so called cleaners should have been sacked all they done was put a fresh quilt cover on thinking they would get away with it, we expected this lodge to be far better however after going to the office we were eventually moved to another lodge.
Lovely property, couldn't fault it, perfect relaxing week away!

Loved the feel of the property but could do with a deep clean. Food left around dish washer and food marks on the kitchen back splash tiles. One of the Kitchen cupboard smelt of grease! Didn't want to use anything in that cupboard. Dinning table was dusty obviously not cleaned before we arrived. These are just petty things for me personally. Loved the hot tub but couldn't use first day as it didn't get hot enough! Nice place but wouldn't book again as unhappy with access to the site. Also food really poor at the onsite restaurant, burnt pizza, frozen veg over baked steak pie, horrible mash tasted like smash and rubbery chicken, which was over priced. Have to say restaurant staff were lovely though and did refund one of the meals. This restaurant could be amazing but it wasn't unfortunately.

Even exceeded photos and reviews!
Lovely stay in beautiful surroundings, very clean and everything provided for your holiday, nice to have use of the hot tub, and easy travel to places to visit, would go back again.

What a wonderful stay we had, we stayed here in Dec 21 too. Again our visit did not dissapoint. We stayed at Streamside both times and we really do enjoy it down by the stream. So calming to hear the water first thing in the morning. We love the HotTub, we used it daily. Very happy that it gets checked daily for our own safety. Due to the time of year we visit, staff is limited and one of the evenings we wanted to use the onsite pub, it was CLOSED. We tried to go in a couple other times but they were closed. But I do know they are closed I think 2 days of our stay anyway. I would like to highlight that 2 toilet rolls for a week stay just isn't good enough, we learnt this from our last stay so I purchased some before we arrived. Also if there was a possibility to do this, I think if people are using the kitchen dailly and are staying for a week then two dishwasher tablets are not enough. Our lodge was full of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in master bedroom and both bathrooms. The shower in the master could have done with some mould and mildew on the tiles and also shower hose. However, with all that aside we had the best stay, comfy bed, heating. T.V., used the local footpath, and we did feel super isolated which was great. We will be coming back next year for sure! We might even get some family to tag along too. Thank you for a great stay

This was our 3rd stay at Stonerush lakes and will come again. Accommodation is private and spacious and will suit those escaping the hustle and bustle of similar lodges for rent. You can sit on your own private terrace and listen to the stream and distant livestock. Randomly the smoke alarm went off at 5am one morning but there was no fire. Perhaps a bit over sensitive which frightened the kids. This did not diminish our break and I wish we could have stayed longer.
7Streamside cottage. Beautiful peaceful setting within 7 miles of Looe Bay and Polperro. Jacuzzi a little dated and in need of upgrading for more powerful jets but always very clean and maintained. The lodge modern, spacious, clean and all you need for your relaxing holiday. We really enjoyed our stay at streamside.

We had stayed here about 3 years ago and loved it so much that we came back, this time for 4 nights. We were informed that since our last visit the accommodation was now pet friendly. This wasn't a problem at the time, however there was what I call a doggy smell, not overpowering but noticeable all the same. This was not a major problem as it mostly dissappeared as we had all the doors open for most of our first day as we spent the afternoon and evening on the terrace and in the hot tub. On the evening of our second day, on our return from a day out, I sat down on one of the sofas and after a little while noticed several thick black dogs hairs and numerous finer white hairs on the seats. On closer inspection there were dog hairs on the floor, on the shelf underneath the occasional table and under the furniture. Thankfully there was no sign of hair or odour in the bedroom. I have to say that although it did not totally spoil our stay, we were very surprised and disappointed and as a result we would not book number 7 or any other pet friendly lodge on this site and although we would love to return would only now do so in accommodation where no pets are allowed.
Jessica
Fantastic property had everything we needed. Perfect location, clean and luxurious. Will be booking again thank you.
Edward
A fantasic place to stay every thing you need in one place, very clean. we had a loverly quiet relaxing four nights, We would recomend a stay to all. A very happy holiday maker.
7 Streamside is a lovely lodge, with good facilities. Weve stayed in several lodges at Stonerush Lakes, but this one has the most comfortable bed, a really good powerful shower, choice of outdoor furniture on the decking, cushions for outdoor furniture are in the outdoor storage cupboards with the padlock codes in the guest folder. The only thing that let it down, was the cleaning. It was ok, but not to the standard youd expect. Hand prints on the windows, sticky jam marks on a wall, black shower hose where it should be shiny metal, dusty floors behind doors. Just general not good attention to detail. The lodge itself was great, just better cleaning needed & supervisor checking afterwards.
Andrew
Lovely lodge set in beautiful location. The lodge has everything you need for a relaxing stay and the location is very quiet and peaceful, perfect to get away from it all. The on site restaurant serves excellent food , is dog friendly and the staff are very friendly and accommodating
Would recommend and will return to this property. Lovely setting, Perfect for a quiet break. Lodge has everything you need for your stay. Handy welcome pack on arrival small but everything you need for first cuppa on arrival. Would be handy to have a few cleaning products for departure clean.
Robert
Fantastic place , clean and really well equipped. Thought we'd spoil ourselves on our anniversary, and we certainly did .
Geoffrey
Very pleased with the lodge and hot tub and how well equipped it was and the ... Very pleased with the lodge and hot tub and how well equipped it was and the site was good and staff very friendly and helpful
Everything was very clean on arrival, none of the bathrooms had toilet roll however reception sorted this out when we went to ask. Everything was just like the pictures. Hot tub was clean. 1010 would recommend.
Graham
Had issues with the boiler over weekend as owners not available to fix. Finally resolved on the Monday.
Elaine
So lovely and quiet amazing just to sit and watch the wildlife beautiful property
The lodge was lovely, clean and well equipped. We found it very comfortable. Some of the outside furniture was a bit tired but the wooden chairs and table looked as though they just needed to be cleaned and repainted or retreated. All in all a lovely relaxing and peaceful holiday.
Was a really nice lodge and great appliances to use. Was a shame the restaurant was closed as it wouldve been nice to have a meal but these things happen. Will definitely visit again if we were to do another break in Cornwall.
Hot tub jets were almost unnoticeable, otherwise the lodge was very good, in a quiet and private setting. The property was 2 bedroom as expected, so really disappointing that we were told it was only 1 bedroom despite checking this specifically!
Sharon
We arrived at 4. 15, as we were told not to arrive before 4pm due to covid, but on entry the floors were all still wet, so the cleaners had only just left the building, there were still cleaners darting about everywhere. The property was lovely and clean and well equipped. Our only issue was that we couldn't open any windows overnight to cool the property down. All of the doorswindows were floor to ceiling, so that wouldn't be safe. We had a lovely holiday despite some rain showers, Cornwall never fails to impress!
The bags of new laundry for the next occupancy were dropped on the doorstep well before our expected leave time, which blocked the door a bit. Also, all the cleaning staff I assume were all stood chatting around the bin shedlaundry area when we left with no masks and no obvious social distancing going on that we could see. There were about 20 or so. Given that we have literally just come out of lock down, we thought this a bit poor. Otherwise, excellent property and well run site. Would recommend the take away food from the restaurant.
Fantastic hideaway, although I would suggest a small shop on the complex. I would definitely go back and highly recommend.

Just returned from a week at 7 Stresmside. Lodge itself was clean and comfortable. Good linen, towels. Good bed. Everything you need. As previously mentioned hot tub is old, temp and jets ok for us. The lid is a pain to lift off as you have to lift off yourself and its heavy! Patio furniture and deck could of benefit from a very good clean. Green mould on patio set. We didnt sit out even though sunny as the stream attracts lots of mosquitoes!! Dont know if it was breeding season but tons of them! Lodge gets sun most of the day. The patio doors on lodge are unusual as no handles on outside so dont shut any doors behind you! No phone signal but can use WiFi. The road to the site is a little tight and bendy but thats Cornwall for you. Just dont take wrong turn like us and end up on awful windy roads!! Restaurant was closed so cant comment on that. Its not very far from fowey, looe and Polperro which are all lovely to visit. Overall a good stay but hot tub needs updating and patio furniture needs clean and take mosquito spray!!
Amazing location, and very modern clean cabin. The only thing that let it down was the hot tub. We are frequent visitors to cabins with hot tubs and although the cabin was one of the best the hot tub was thw worst, heavy lid and a bit dated, jets weren't very powerful etc.
We thoroughly enjoyed our break, thank you. The only thing we would suggest is an outside light by the hot tub for an evening dip in the dark.
The lodge was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed and more. This lodge is in a lovely position and not over looked at all. We would definitely return. It was a lovely relaxing week away from the noise and that was exactly what we were looking for.
Philippa
The lodge was perfect. It was so secluded & it had everything you could ever need for a weeks stay. The hot tub was lovely. The bed was also very comfy. Perfect for a week of relaxation.
