7 Water's Edge Reviews

Position of lodge lovely, nice quiet site, unfortunately the Lodge needs a bit of tlc,for example exterior needs a lick of paint , in shower room uneven floor stubbed toe on floorboard thats lifting ,very badly water stained worktop needs waterproof worktop, Restaurant on site chef on holiday so limited menu Cleanliness issues very dusty under two chairs, windows filthy with finger marks all over, sticky worktops ,small frying pan with stuck on food, not good ! !
I have stayed many times at stonerush lakes and always have enjoyed my stay . However even though the setting is lovely by the lake it was spoilt my continuous building work going on everyday did video and report this to reception . Totally spoilt the holiday ! The lodge was dog friendly but unfortunately the smell of urine was everywhere! Especially in the bedroom . Had to spray air freshener all the time to be able to sleep from the smell . We were very lucky to have had beautiful weather otherwise we would have come home early .
Rhonda
The log cabin was nice and clean comfy beds nice clean linen and towels. The view was beautiful over the lake watching all the wildlife was stunning. The location was great not far from Looe and other places The only downside was the terrible smell outside the door as you walked in smelt like sewage it was quite awful and sometimes could smell it as you walked in. Bathroom floors need replaced as there coming up from the floor so that wasnt nice kitchen work tops need replacing around the sink area they seen better days maybe a light outside as there isnt one would of been nice to sit outside of a evening Hot tub was nice overall it was a lovely stay and my mother in law had a lovely break .

The site was beautiful, really well maintained, unfortunately the accommodation was not to the standard we would expect when booking through Sykes, the drainage was very poor, the shower tray kept over flowing so we had to keep turning the shower off to allow it to drain, the lodge smelt of sewage, the toilet and sinks gurgled through the night, waking us up, the bedroom curtains were mouldy, there was a nail sticking out of the decking which my daughter stood on. The general cleanliness of the lodge was of a poor standard. We would stay on this site again but not in this lodge which is a shame because the location over looking the lake was beautiful.
A nice property, but could do with a few little improvements, ie, slabbing or ... A nice property, but could do with a few little improvements, ie, slabbing or re graveling to front of property as if raining it would be rather muddy, and re coating the exterior as it looks a bit tired,

The property exceeded our expectations. The property was clean, spacious, modern and situated in beautiful and well maintained grounds. We were next to the lake, which was peaceful and full of wild life. During our stay we saw carp, ducks, geese and foxes which added to our experience. The hot tub was lovely and was routinely checked throughout our stay. The reception staff were faultless. I would definitely return and highly recommend the property.
On first inspection the lodge was perfect, however there are a few things that need attention. Firstly it would be nice to have more coat hangers, we stopped for a week and there was only 3 per person provided. Secondly the curtains in the main bedroom are covered in mould at the bottom so definitely need replacing. The hot tub is wonderful and the view over the lake is beautiful. It was nice to just sit and watch the birds and squirrels. Very relaxing and peaceful.

Excellent stay at clean comfortable lodge with relaxing hot tub. We were very pleased with the services and facilities and location in peaceful spot by the lake. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, even switching our booking at no extra cost , when our daughter hurt her leg and couldn't go away on the original date. Sally gave us helpful local advice on the best beaches to visit and we did and really loved it. Would recommend and go back. Thank you. Tiny recommendation for a mattress topper for single bed as springs were bit lumpy for daughter. There is small amount of black round sink due to water not being wiped properly, this is not owner's fault but perhaps some protection could be installed?
This was like a home from a home, it had everything you could possibly need and more. The property was very clean and tidy with modern finishings throughout. The balcony overlooked a peaceful lake creating the most relaxing of environments. The hot tub was fabulous, and surprisingly private considering it was at the side of the property. The only thing I might change would be the trees in front of the balcony as it does block the view slightly, that being said it does mean that you have more privacy. An outdoor light would be useful also as it is pitch black apart from the indoor light. These however wouldnt stop me booking this particular property again. Sally and her team were lovely and welcoming, The Mill restaurant looked lovely however we only had a drink on the outdoor terrace. Overall 1010 from us! We will be back
Michael
The cabin was lovely but there was a pile of off cut wood and rubbish left beside this cabin. It did not appear that any work had been done on this cabin but the rubbish was left next to parking space. Also the second bedroom we could not open the door to outside which means that there is no way the escape in a fire but also could not cool down the room. Also the dinning room chairs the legs are all loose and we were concerned they may break. Many thanks Julie
Surprised to be asked for feedback when Sykes didnt bother to respond to the feedback I sent when requested on the first day of the holiday. Lodge reasonably clean but could be better like last year. Facilities again could be better blinds still not fixed and locks iffy but maintenance were prompt on attending on the Sunday morning when one handle sheared off on the Saturday night. Freezer hadnt been emptied after the previous occupants. In all, decent enough but a bit tired and in need of TLC to be anything like luxury. Hot tub still a nice touch hut a little effort on the part of the corporate owner and this would be a far better holiday home.
We had an amazing holiday at 7 waters edge, lodge was lovely very spacious and fully equipped, it was clean but there were a few missed bits eg, legs on brown leather chairs were thick with dust and there was toothpaste marks on the ledge below the mirror cupboard in the main bathroom but I just gave it a wipe. Hot tub was lovely plenty big enough for the four of us. This lodge is so private it was perfect, We would love to return for another holiday
Olivia
Fabulous property and had a really relaxing week which was just what we were looking for. Located near some really great places to visit and when not feeling like that chilling out in the hot tub was perfect. If there was one grip it would be the inside glass of doors to decking not cleaned. Everything else was spotless and comfortable. Especially loved waking up to the geese, ducks and hungry carp. Kiki the dog loved the warm welcome she got at the mill restaurant and we loved the food and service.
Isabel
Beautiful property and location, furnished Nicely with a well stocked kitchen for my chef partner. The on site pub is amazing with the friendliest of staff and food that was defiantly not your standard pub grub, the whole menu looked amazing, we cant wait to go again to try more of it!!! We will defiantly be back to 7 waters edge
Lodge met all our expectations
Lovely break away, little package for essentials is a nice touch! Only thing I would mention is that our torch provided was broken which would of came in handy while walking the dog. However, all in all a great stay.
Claire
Lovely property. Quiet and beautiful location on the lake. Clean, spacious and the hot tub was fantastic. Only issue was the beds all the mattresses need replacing. Lumpy and soft which was a major downside of the property. We did raise this with Sykes before going, based on another review, but nothing was done and this would stop us rebooking this property.
Rebecca
Beautiful position. Lacked some pizazz many others had outside parasols, plants on balcony etc. No windows, many doors which would have been okay but missing keys in order to open as very warm in cottage. Some grime on shower head and hose and around seals. All door handles loose and some blinds didn't roll properly. Overall beautiful stay but needs some care and attention.
Amazing, beautiful, lovely. Superb lodge, wonderful surroundings, great hot tub. We loved feeding the birds and fishes. To wake up early, open the double doors in the bedroom and watch the wildlife was heavenly. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing holiday
Chelsey
Thank you for such an amazing week, we will definitely be returning everything was just perfect, very peaceful and beautiful setting!
If I had to groan it would have to be the restaurant not preparing for bad weather outside like some places elsewhere have done . But the lodge as usual was 100 per cent excellent in every way
Lovely lodge with fantastic setting next to lake. Quiet location with lodges well separated with hot tub in great private position. Amazing to lay in bed and look out over lake in the morning. Enclosed decking was perfect for the dog.
Graham
Loved it , Cant wait for our next stay.
Richard
Beautiful setting and lodge, immaculate and well equipped. Perfect for a relaxing break and only a short drive to beaches and other attractions.
Lovely lodge very tranquil and just what we needed. Great location if you want to travel into Looe or Polperro The only negative I would say is the signage could be better to help people find their lodge, on the day we arrived we had at least 5 different people turn around on our steep drive extremely close to our car which did make me nervous and could have been easily avoided with some clearer signs
The location was brilliant for a relaxing holiday in Cornwall and good access to go and explore. The accommodation was spacious and well equipped.
Beautiful accommodation, in lovely location. Property exceeded expectations and highly recommend. Disappointing though that cleaning co arrived an hour early, told us leaving time was 9.00 whereas it was 10.00 and then sat hovering in their car until asked them to leave. It caused unnecessary stress taking the edge off a lovely break.
It was lovely, a few small details, like the lamp next to bed not working, towel rails not coming on unless we put the heating on, but other than that all good. I think you should have a few more basic essentials upon arrival, like bread, milk and tea and coffee, and more tupperware, oil and butter.
We had such a lovely time staying at 7 Waters Edge. Was so peaceful and tranquil, just what we needed! Only thing that needs attention is the tap on the kitchen which is leaking. Stonerush Lakes is a beautiful place to stay if you are wanting to get away from it all, and is close to many tourist attractions and beaches if you want to get out and about. This was our second visit and are already looking into when we can book our next visit
I have booked with Sykes before and found the information online regarding the property very accurate and the pictures true to life. The Waters Edge lodge at Stonerush lakes is absolutely gorgeous. The decor and furnishings are modern and stylish and create a very comfortable and homely environment. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms are spacious. The main bedroom had a fantastic view over the lake as does the lounge area. The onsite reception, bar and restaurant has a very welcoming atmosphere and the site is very well maintained. We will definitely return.
Richard
It was too short! as last time Stonerush Lakes everything was perfect
The property was great and we really enjoyed our stay. Maybe worth adding to the listing Kitchen TowelsOven Glove provided. Amenity kit provided on arrival. Improvements required Bathroom blind does not twist openclose no privacy needs replacing Main Bedroom blind does not openclose had to be kept permanently down for privacy which meant no morning view is the lake needs replacing Requires outside light on decking for access to hot tub when dark. Decking slippery when wet Needs good clean pressure wash or decking boards with groves. Hope this helps.
Judith
The situation of this lodge is perfect right on the edge of the lake. The lodge is extremely comfortable although the sofa is a bit low. The reason for the slightly low mark for facilities is..When.we reported that the blind in the main bedroom was broken. We were told by the disinterested lady on reception that that they were aware there was an issue with the blind and did we want someone to look at it. We had previously reported on arrival that the washing machine had towels inside and the door on the washing machine would not open. When we return to the lodge later that day the door had been fixed but the wet towels were still in the machine and the blind still broken! So the lodge is perfect but it is being let down but very poor facilities management and customer relations.
Hannah
Wonderful place, just wish now we booked more than two nights.
The blind in the family bathroom doesn't close, it is broken, so can't close the blind when having a shower or going to the toilet. The blind in the main bedroom is broken and has been tied back up. On arrival the parasol was broken and on a chair, so I assume it had been noticed. There were 4 mugs and 4 glasses which is ridiculous for a property which costs this much! There should be at least 8 of each if not more, so this meant constant washing up. Raised nails on the decking so don't go on the decking bare foot. No oven glove in the property plenty of towels and bedding was lovely. Position of lodge is amazing personal opinion is that this lodge was in a much better condition when Blue Chip Holidays were letting it. Not so many broken items and seemed as though it was being taken care of.
Michael
The photos dont do it justice . Just like.paradise relaxing stunning scenery ..very peaceful.
