Walkers Retreat Reviews

Excellent property, very clean and well maintained.
Malcolm
We had a lovely week at Walkers Retreat. The site is very peaceful and the people on site very friendly. The caravan was spacious, clean and had everything you need plus a few welcome touches such as tea bags, coffee even dog bowls. The large bed was very comfy and the shower is a good size compared to other places we've stayed over the years. Would definitely recommend it
Claudine
Walkers Retreat, what a beautiful place to stay. The lodge was immaculate, checking in was seemless. So many lovely little extra touches. Fabulous fluffy towels, robes and super little slippers, cushions and throws. The hot tub was spectacular, just loved to relax after breakfast. The patio set was comfy. The site was clean and very tidy. If we come back to Yorkshire we will definitely return. Best holiday property we have stayed in 11 out of 10. Thank you James
Lovely little place, on a quiet site. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, we spent the days walking on the surrounding beaches as its so close to the Coast. The evenings we spent chilling in the hot tub which was perfect after a day of walking! There is everything you could ask for in the lodge and they have gone the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable! The Prosecco and dog treats were a lovely touch too.
Lauren
Thanks for a lovely stay, it was a great base to explore nearby resorts. The caravan itself was extremely clean & comfortable, with nice decor situated on a quiet site. Hot tub was an added bonus for relaxation! Owner checked in to make sure everything was ok. Would definitely recommend
Excellent stay had everything we needed for a family holiday. Would 100 recommend to anyone wanting a break away. The Hot Tub was a massive bonus after all the walking we did.
We've just come home from a 2 night stay and we throughly enjoyed it the caravan itself was pristine and you can see the effort that's being made to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The hot tub was a lovely bonus and private so if your thinking of booking I wouldn't hesitate as you won't regret it we are hoping to go again later in the year
We would just like to thank the owners of Walkers Retreat, we stayed there for 3 nights last week what a little hidden gem. In a lovely quiet area but close enough to amenities to entertain the kids flamingo land, Scarborough, Whitby beaches etc. Walkers Retreat was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed for our stay! Hot tub went down a treat too! Thank you!
Lovely clean and modern caravan. Small and quiet site perfect for a few days. Great having the hot tub to relax in after a busy day.

Came over the weekend on a long weekend break Beautiful property clean , comfortable and the hot tub was great in a great peaceful location but close enough to everything York bridlington filey etc owners was great at communication from time of booking and offered any assistance if needed nice little on site bar to break the evening up with pool table which my little lad loved thanks for a great stay would definitely use again and highly recommend people to book in
Carrie
I had been searching for a caravan with a hot tub that was dog friendly but it seemed to be a difficult task until I found this one. What sealed the deal for us was it was called Walker's Retreat and as that's our surname, it was perfect! The caravan itself was beautiful and well kept. The site was quiet and far enough out the way it wasn't busy but a close enough drive to Scarborough and York which meant for nice days out. My children LOVED the hot tub and the fact we could bring both our dogs with us was brilliant. We will definitely be back!
Kirsty
Lovely wee caravan in nice quiet park. Loads to do in the area would highly recommend.
Andrea
Had a fantastic stay Brilliant location and lots of dog walks just off site all easy to get too Well equipped and very clean and comfy The site manager and the owner and other people on the site were all really friendly and helpfull and the Snooty Fox was great to pop in for a drink after a day of sightseeing and the hot tub was a massive plus and the outdoor seating ment sitting out in an evening gave us extra space to chill . Brilliant we will be back Definitely recommend and we will be returning x thank you for a great stay
Walkers retreat Caravan was a beautiful base for travelling around. The only problem was all the dust on top of the bed, I have Asthma. The caravan itself was really clean & of an exceptional standard. The caravan park was small but well kept & the people there were exceptionally friendly & helpful.
Walkers retreat was just the holiday we needed, the home was well cleaned and it had everything we needed. The hot tub was a great bonus! The bar on site was great with a pool table and darts. The only problem is that it's cash only, however, it was worth getting cash out as Frank behind the bar really looked after us. Scarborough was only a 35 minute drive and York was only a 50 minute drive. Over all we had a perfect stay, thank you to the owners!
The retreat was fantastic , not one fault and the little finishing touches were lovely
A very comfortable caravan with everything provided to ensure a happy stay. Unfortunately the weather only allowed us to use the hot tub once!! Well placed for the coastal resorts and we can thoroughly recommend the Ham & Cheese pub. for great food.
The caravan itself is fabulous. Clean and freshly decorated, a well equipped kitchen and powerful shower. Not to mention the incredible private sunken hot tub and comfortable mattresses!! By far the best caravan we've stayed in! The site is also really lovely, clean and quiet. Perfectly located with plenty of nearby attractions within 1 hours drive. All the people we met were welcoming and friendly. Thank you for a brilliant week
Had a great time at walkers retreat, it was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. The hot tub is fabulous, nice and private. The twin room could do with a lamp, other than that has all you need. Lovely bottle of Prosecco on arrival. The site is nice and quiet. In a great location for visiting York, Whitby, Scarborough and Robins Hood Bay. Would highly recommend. Will definitely book again.
We had a wonderful week at Walkers Retreat an absolute treat in every way, and just the relaxing break we needed! The caravan was spotless and really comfortable. The little extra touches made us feel really welcome treats for our little Spaniel, a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us when we arrived and even bathrobes and slippers, really useful when using the amazing hot tub! Its a really quiet little site with lovely open views all around of the beautiful countryside. I would say a car is pretty much essential to take advantage of all the amenities in the lovely local towns we visited Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Filey, Scarborough, Pickering and Bridlington none no more that 45 minutes away. If you need shopping there is a Tesco in Filey 15 minute drive and a Morrisons a little further on the outskirts of Scarborough 20 minute drive so youd never be stuck! We had one minor problem of our own making with the hot tub but the owner, James, was really helpful, advised by phone what we should do and then went to the trouble of calling out to see us the next day to make sure everything was okay. He was a lovely chap and he really went the extra mile for us. The only thing we could fault was the weather very cold for late April nothing you can do about that and we were totally snug in this cosy retreat! We would absolutely recommend and hope to return soon thank you so much!

Words cannot express how much we loved this caravan. It was in a perfect location for just taking a few days to chill and relax. The caravan itself was spotless and smelt amazing! The hot tub was perfect! Dog treats were left for my crazy Labrador. Everything that you need was there. Including a lovely bottle of wine and ice in the freezer! We will be visiting again! Thank you
Rhiannon
The whole property was perfect! Clean and very spacious, with everything you need! The only thing we struggled with was finding the correct cabin on the site. There was such lovely touches like the robes and slippers, we had a perfect visit and definitely would return.
Clean, modern caravan and facilities in quiet caravan park, directly off A64, situated in the middle of nowhere, but direct access to A64 with a car to get to the coast etc. Helpful and quick to reply when rang about hot tub temperature issue which was just having to wait an hour for each degree of increase in hot tub temperature from 30 to 40. Therefore, keep temperature high and cover on the hot tub if you want it warm! Being overlooked by caravan next door when getting into hot tub and out again, though you'd need some veryhigh ugly screening to avoid this.
Louise
Nothing much to do on the site not recommended for kids wouldnt say was worth ... Nothing much to do on the site not recommended for kids wouldnt say was worth the money I paid very clean and comfortable but wouldnt stay again for that price
Camilla
A beautiful and modern cottage in a peaceful location convenient for visiting the surround local area. Very warm and comfortable over new year and the hot tub was a perfect way to relax and look at the stars. Super clean and well equipped and great water pressure in the shower. Thank you for a wonderful break.
Hi, we absolutely loved our stay here. All the neighbours were very friendly and due to visiting over Christmas the caravan was also decorated which we were not expecting. We would definitely book again!
Had a really enjoyable and relaxing stay at Walker's Retreat. The caravan was spotlessly clean, very warm and comfortable. The hot tub was a great way to unwind and chill out in. The caravan has everything you will need and would definitely go back again. North Yorks is a lovely place to visit. The bar at the Snooty Fox was a bonus and very welcoming. Didn't want to leave.
We were very impressed with Walkers Retreat which was clean, tidy and very well equipped including a hot tub on the veranda It's situated on a lovely quiet site which was conveniently located for all our planned excursions we visited Scarborough, Cayton Bay and Eden Camp all of which were within a relatively short drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Walkers Retreat.
Louise
Beautiful lodge, very clean and lovely touches . Nice peaceful site, hot tub was great ,really enjoyed our stay, daughter didnt want to leave and wants to go back asap . We stayed for 3 nights would loved to of stayed longer ,thank you .
First impression on arrival looked somewhat like a travellers site, dont let this put you off as you quickly realise it is a luxury caravan site. Friendly locals and caravan owners. I Cannot fault this property really clean as described perfect for the kids and couples. Only issue I would say is I think the caravan pitch next door is too close to the private hotub but again once your in the hot tub it is very private. if you have high energy dogs I couldnt find any local parks walking distance to run them off lead. Had to use a private farm field for 10mins. the park has quite strict rules on dog Short lead and no fouling on any other caravan pitches must stick to paths. I would love constructive feedback if it was mine so I have to be fair. Would I stay again YES
Absolutely lovely place to stay for our family holiday! Lodge was spotless and we had absolutely everything we needed! Hot tub was obviously the main attraction especially for the kids!! Ideal location for our days out and the site itself was lovely and quiet. Will definitely be back!

The holiday home was very nice, no negatives except that it really could do with a coffee table in the living area. Nowhere to put drinks except on the floor with the risk of them being knocked over and staining the carpet. Hope this helps.
Yordanka
I would like to recommend this lodge. The location is very nice, very quiet place.
Really enjoyed our stay the hot tub was brilliant, highly recommend we will be back.
