About Salty Sands Cottage

A seaside getaway to Saunton is one to remember, the golden shores and rolling waves make you feel like you’re abroad and are the perfect ingredients for a staycation with friends and family. Bursting with contemporary style and a tranquil ambience, this cottage is a relaxing place to unwind after days in the salty air walking the South West Coast Path or relaxing in the garden with lovely views.

Neutral hues and sophisticated style create a beautiful space in which to spend time. The kitchen, lounge and diner fit together perfectly like pieces of a puzzle and mean you can snuggle up for some peace and quiet, enjoy film nights in front of the smart TV and keep the family cook company from the comfort of the sofa.

When nights are warm, light up the BBQ and enjoy al fresco sundowners before heading back inside to rest your head. Both bedrooms are peaceful and stylish, with the master bedroom residing on the first floor with its own smart TV for lazy mornings and gorgeous views.

Take care of external steps. Sitting in the superb location of Saunton on the dramatic North Devon Coast, make the 1-mile journey to your local beach where miles of golden sands are backed by one of the largest sand dune systems in the country.

Sitting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, marvel at the scenery or make a splash and visit one of the surf schools before tucking into treats at the beachside restaurant. Further along the coast, the vibrant village of Croyde (3 miles) has fantastic watering holes and a beautiful walk around National Trust’s Baggy Point where you can find secluded swimming spots, walk the South West Coast Path and see spectacular sunsets.

Salty Sands Cottage Reviews

Emma
We had a great stay! The cottage was cosy with a modern touchand the bed was super comfy. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, perfect after a day at the beach. The garden was beautifully keptand the location meant we could easily explore nature spots nearby. A tip: bring a sleep mask because the master bedroom has a big window without blinds. Overall, a really relaxing place with helpful hosts. Would stay again!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay here! The beds were super comfyand the bedding and towels felt really nice quality. The outdoor space with the hot tub was a highlight, especially when the weather was good - it’s such a cosy spot. The hot tub was spotless and inviting. The only thing that caught us out a bit was how complicated some of the appliances and heating controls were - we prefer things a bit simpler. Also, managing access onto the busy main road was a bit tricky since it’s a blind exit. Still, overall, a lovely place to stay!
Emma
We had such a lovely time at Salty Sands! The cottage was way better than we expected, especially since the garden has been completely revamped - photos don’t do it justice. The views are stunningand the hot tub, comfy seatingand BBQ area made it really special. Everything we needed was thereand the location’s ideal - just a short walk to Saunton Sands, with Croyde and Putsborough beach a quick drive. We’re already planning to come back next year!
Oliver
The cottage’s size was fine, but the garden was completely overgrown and unusable. Also, the driveway exit was tricky with neighbours’ plants blocking visibility.

Salty Sands is a charming spot tucked between Croyde and Braunton, just a quick drive to Saunton Sands. The place feels fresh and spacious, with lovely views of the garden and fields behind. As others have pointed out, it's on a busy road, so reversing onto the drive is a good idea. We didn’t mind at all and really enjoyed our time there. Overall, a great stay!
Alex
We had a lovely stay here! The location is fantastic, perfect for exploring the surrounding areaand the place is well equipped. We enjoyed walks, trips to the beachand visiting spots like the National Trust and The Big Sheep. Just a heads up, there’s no door between the living room and upstairs bedroom, so sound travels a bitand one big window can’t be darkened. The bedding contains duck down, so let them know if allergies are an issue. Overall, great memories made, thanks!
Alex
We loved how cosy the cottage was and the garden's stunning view was a real highlight. We didn’t manage to try the barbecue, but it looked perfect for summer nights. The hose for rinsing off after the beach was such a thoughtful touch too.

The cottage was lovely and spotless, with a charming garden. The road isn’t great for kids or walking, but the beach is only five minutes away by car. Really enjoyed our stay!
Emma
We had an amazing stay at this charming cottage. The thoughtful details like the wetsuit hanging rail outside and the massive bed made all the difference. The smart TV in the bedroom was perfect for lazy mornings when the weather was rubbish! Honestly, we can't think of anything to improve - highly recommend!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay! The house is cosy but nicely furnished, making us feel at home. The location was great, situated nicely between Saunton and Brauntonand it only took about 20 minutes to reach other spots. One thing we’d suggest is giving more info about parking - the entrance was a bit tricky and felt a tad unsafe. Also, the garden was a bit untidy, which was a shame. Still, thanks for a lovely stay, we had a great time!

Salty Sands was a lovely spot for us. The place was spotless and nicely decorated, making it easy to unwind. Plus, it's just a short walk to Croyde Bay, which was perfect for our trip!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is charming and perfect for our family of four, with kids aged 11 and 9. It’s clear a lot of care has gone into decorating and furnishing it. The outdoor garden was lovely, though a bit chilly for grilling. Great spot close to the beach!
James
Great spot, cosy roomsand superb area to explore!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay! The place was spotlessand the air con was a lifesaver, especially in the loft. The bathroom’s a bit tight, but overall, we’d definitely come back.
