About Salty Sands Cottage

A seaside getaway to Saunton is one to remember, the golden shores and rolling waves make you feel like you re abroad and are the perfect ingredients for a staycation with friends and family. Bursting with contemporary style and a tranquil ambience, this cottage is a relaxing place to unwind after days in the salty air walking the South West Coast Path or relaxing in the garden with lovely views.

Neutral hues and sophisticated style create a beautiful space in which to spend time. The kitchen, lounge and diner fit together perfectly like pieces of a puzzle and mean you can snuggle up for some peace and quiet, enjoy film nights in front of the smart TV and keep the family cook company from the comfort of the sofa.

When nights are warm, light up the BBQ and enjoy al fresco sundowners before heading back inside to rest your head. Both bedrooms are peaceful and stylish, with the master bedroom residing on the first floor with its own smart TV for lazy mornings and gorgeous views.

Take care of external steps. Sitting in the superb location of Saunton on the dramatic North Devon Coast, make the 1 mile journey to your local beach where miles of golden sands are backed by one of the largest sand dune systems in the country.

Sitting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, marvel at the scenery or make a splash and visit one of the surf schools before tucking into treats at the beachside restaurant. Further along the coast, the vibrant village of Croyde (3 miles) has fantastic watering holes and a beautiful walk around National Trust s Baggy Point where you can find secluded swimming spots, walk the South West Coast Path and see spectacular sunsets.

Salty Sands Cottage Reviews

Lauren
Lovely cottage, modern interior and very comfortable. The hot tub is amazing and the garden is very nicely done. The location is perfect for the beach, lots of lovely nature nearby. I would recommend bringing a sleeping mask if youre sensitive to light as the master bedroom has a large window with no blind. Overall it was a lovely place, very relaxRead moreing and the hosts were responsive and helpful. Hide

The furnishings are great . Bed comfortable and good quality bedding and towels . The outside area with hot tub is spacious and would be lovely in great weather . Hot tub is very clean and cosy . For us the appliances and heating were overly technical. Everything was modern and up to date but , for us , it needed to be simple. Not a criticism of thRead moree property however. Access on to the main road had to be managed. The road was busy and it is a blind exit . Overall a nice place to stay Hide

We had a brilliant week at Salty Sands. The cottage far exceeded our expectations and the current photos do not to the garden (which has been completely redone) justice. The views, hot tub, seating and BBQ area was just perfect. Everything we required for our stay was provided and the cottage is in a prime location, just a short distance to SauntonRead more sands (this could be walked) and Croyde and Putsborough beach are a short drive away. We will definitely be returning next year! Hide

Cottage small but pleasant, rear garden overgrown and could not use it. Different to exit drive way because of neighbours overgrown plants blocking view
Maria
Salty Sands is a lovely property located between Croyde and Braunton and a short drive to Saunton Sands. It is bright, airy and well equipped with a nice view over the garden and fields at the back. As has been mentioned in other reviews, it is on a busy road so it is best to reverse onto the drive. We didn't have a problem with this and thoroughlyRead more enjoyed our stay there. Hide

Great place with the opportunity to explore an incredible area. Really well equipped. We loved staying here. No door between living room and upstairs bedroom so sound travels. One large window cannot be darkened. Be aware that bedding contains duck down - let them know if this is a problem. It is just possible to walk to the beach if you use the veRead morerge and then make your way along wild paths. We went on walks, beach trips, National Trust and The Big Sheep. Lovely memories made. Thank you. Hide

The cottage was really well appointed and the garden was a real bonus with its great view). We didnt get round to a barbecue but that was a great feature (along with the hose for rinsing down when we got back from the beach).
Jost
Beautiful and clean cottage with nice garden! The road is not suitable for small kids and for walking, but within in a five minutes drive you reach the fantastic beach.
Catherine
We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful little cottage. There were so many great touches, from the wetsuit hanging bar outside to the huge bed or the smart tv in the bedroom for those lazy mornings in the grotty weather! There are no suggestions I could make to improve this place - highly recommend.

The house is bijou but well appointed. We feel more information about the parking should be available, as the entrance was challenging and potentially dangerous. The position of the house between Saunton and Braunton was good and only 20 mins to other areas. The only reason we would not recommend to friends or return here, was because of the parkinRead moreg and the untidyness of the garden. We had a lovely stay thank you very much as you have made the house a home. Hide

A wonderful holiday home, immaculately clean with great quality fixtures and fittings. A lot of thought has gone into making sure that visitors to the cottage experience a comfortable stay. We had a great time there and found that the cottage was ideally situated to visit all the wonderful places that North Devon has to offer.
Deborah
We had a lovely stay at Salty Sands. Very clean and well presented which made us feel very comfortable and easy to relax. The location is really good only minutes away from Croyde Bay.
Ruth
Lovely place to stay. Perfect for us. So much thought has gone into this cottage. It is a small cottage, ideal for the four of us with a 11 and 9 year old. Lovely outdoor garden space too. Had a bbq (too cold during our stay). Great location short drive to the beach.
Luke
Amazing accommodation and fantastic location! Would highly recommend
Christine
Lovely clean accommodation. Air conditioning great, particularly as loft bedroom can get hot. Bathroom is compact but manageable. Would have liked the basin to be bigger/deeper however. Would stay again.
