Fig Tree Cottage Reviews

We really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful Figtree Cottage. Everything we needed was there and the beds are very comfortable. Plenty of space and in a nice quiet location. The welcome basket was a lovely bonus. The hot tub was great, very warm, private and great after a day out. Lovely owners, friendly and helpfull and were available if we needed anything. Thank you Dave and Ali!
Suzanne
Beautiful cottage with home from home feel very well equipped for all. Kids loved the huge garden, and the hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of our busy days, Ali and Dave are the most perfect hosts and the little treats are very welcome. We will most definitely be going back to this wonderful cottage.
David and his wife couldnt do enough. The accommodation is excellent and exceptionally clean. Very comfortable in a great quiet location.
Fig Tree Cottage was simply perfect for us Really spacious, with tons of room for a family with one young teenager and 4 older teens. The lovely circular table made gathering together for meals so easy and the way all the rooms flowed together ensured that everyone could blend together or have some time alone if they wished. The huge garden was also perfect for a bit of swing ball and frisbee. Dave and Ali were perfect hosts, introducing themselves when we arrived and there on hand if there were any issuesalthough there were no issues really, apart from us not having a lighter for the barbecue! We did however have a lovely chat with Dave on the morning before we left and could see how this absolutely gorgeous cottage reflected the attitude of its owners! We have a perfect holiday here! Thanks!

Me and my family throughly enjoyed our stay at Fig Tree Cottage. It was so cosy and homely inside and the beds were so comfortable! There was a range of board games to play during the evenings and having breakfast in the sun. We had a relaxing time in the hot tub too! We will definitely be planning another trip in the future and telling our family and friends about this place! Thank you so much!

The owners were wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful. The welcome pack was terrific, the house was lovely and the location stunning.
This is a beautiful cottage that catered for both adults and kids There was ... This is a beautiful cottage that catered for both adults and kids There was plenty of space, very tidy, good parking, beautiful scenery and a short drive to Tiverton Lovely linen, comfy beds, lots of books and games in the property The hot tub was a lovely bonus and Dave and Ali allowed us to check in early as we were celebrating a big birthday in the family which was great Would highly recommend, Dave and Ali couldnt do enough for us Will be back
We had a lovely stay. Beautiful property that is well maintained with beautiful views. Very spacious with all the amenities. Owners were very nice and if we had a question or a request, they responded very quickly. Definitely a 5star stay and would recommend this cottage.

We had a lovely stay at Fig Tree Cottage despite the weather! ! We were 3 generations from 1 to 84 years old and found the cottage very comfortable and well equiped for us all. Loved the log fire and 2 of our party were in the hot tub most evenings! Very good communications with the hosts.

Fig Tree Cottage exceeded expectations. It was everything and more. We wanted a peaceful, calm and quiet cottage and this exactly what it was. The cottage was comfortable and spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. The cleanliness of the cottage was excellent which was a big plus why we chose Fig Tree and it lived up to the description. The hosts Ali and Dave ensured we were comfortable and not far away if we needed anything. We arrived to a lovely Devon cream tea and they even provided gluten free scones for one of the party. In addition to a strarter pack of bread, milk team coffee and more. What wonderful memories we had and we couldnt recommend high enough to anyone thinking of holiday renting Fig Tree. Thank you Ali and Dave. We will be returning and recommending to family and friends.
Fig tree is a wonderful cottage! We really enjoyed our stay here and our only wish was that we had booked for longer!!! 3 generations of family came on our holiday and it catered for all! The cottage was spotless, beds were comfortable and the cream tea on arrival was the sweetest touch! We will definitely be rebooking in the near future!

A fantastic holiday in a lovely cottage. With all amenities and beautiful surroundings. The cottage had everything and more very comfortable. a great hot tub. Our hosts Dave and Ali made sure we were well looked after. Definitely would recommend.
Very timely and personal communication, good directions to find it and a lovely welcome. All details as listed. Ali and Dave responded quickly and thoughtfully any queries we had. The kitchen was well stocked and the whole house was comfortable, clean and warm. The hot tub was great. There were 2 areas for outdoor seating shame that the weather didnt cooperate to allow us to use it! There was heaps to do within easy reach. I would recommend it without hesitation.
Joanne
We had a fabulous stay, very comfortable, beautiful property and surroundings. The owners Ali and Dave were very helpful and we really appreciated everything.

We had a wonderful stay here. The cottage is comfortable, very well equipped and the hot tub was a very welcome addition! Dave and Ali and very welcoming and helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble, and made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend a visit!!
Fig Tree Cottage is a wonderful holiday destination. It is spotlessly clean and has excellent facilities the highlights being the fantastic hot tub and log burner. Dave was available to answer any queries if needed. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come again.
Super clean andwell equipped cottage that makes it perfect for a family stay or time away with friends. The hosts are both very friendly and extremely responsive. Everything works beautifully, the large selection of games, puzzles and books makes it very easy to get into the holiday spirit. There are some beautiful walks right from the cottages gate.. well be back!
Clifford
Fig Tree cottage had all that we needed and more. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated and small details like fresh flowers on the table and the radio softly playing made us feel at home. The host, Dave made us feel most welcome and delighted our grandchildren by showing them his chickens and tortoises. The cottage is in the middle of the countryside hence a few single track roads to tackle. It is in a quiet location, which suited us, although away from shops etc we had no problem in getting a grocery delivery. The hot tub was well needed after a few tiring days out. Well equipped bathrooms and great showers. Thank you.
The holiday home was lovely and very homely. Beds comfortable and jacuzzi was great. Only suggestion is that the ensuite bathroom upstairs, the shower flooded the floor when used unless the shower head is held. The gravel path was challenging for the 82 year old in our party and the gate has dropped so just minor issues. We thoroughly enjoyed our break and would rent again and recommend to others.
We had a fantastic holiday with enough in the house to keep the children and adults happy as well as there being lots off activities fairly close by. Hot tub was well used and everything in the house was well stocked and so comfortable. Dave and Ali made sure they were on hand for any difficulties and had good suggestions for activities. We would definitely like to return!
Tracey
Fantastic holiday in Fig Tree cottage with such beautiful surroundings. We were in awe of the views and peacequiet. The cottage was clean and had everything required for a self catering holiday. Because of the location we were able to get to the south or north of Devon, also travelled to Somerset and Dartmoor whilst exploring. Thank you, we had a wonderful week.
Lesley
We had a lovely stay owner's lovely and helpful we found lovely places to visit not too far away
Lovely large cottage, extremely well stocked kitchen, with comfy beds and furnishings a real home a way from home. Dave and Ali were attentive and responsive without being intrusive. Group contained 6 young adults and 2 older adults and there was plenty of room for joint activities and games as well as space to escape for some peace and quiet. Sunset on lawn patio, as well as hot tub of course, were real highlights. Didnt want to go home.
A perfect cottage in a beautiful setting in an ideal location for seeing that part of the world. The owners could not have been more helpful, everything was thought of to ensure guests enjoyed their stay.
Elizabeth Katherine
Cosy, extremely clean and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful, peaceful location. Excellent facilities within the property and Ali and Dave were the perfect hosts, unobtrusive but there if you needed them. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome....Henry the tortoise and all our family very much appreciated Dave's joinery skills! The welcome pack was an added bonus after a long drive down. We found the beds to be comfortable and the hot tub was a lovely way to relax in the evening and just watch the stars and listen to the local wildlife. Whilst there we visited North Devon, South Devon, Dorset and Exmoor. We were blessed with good weather, so enjoyed bbqs in the cottages lovely garden and the scenery and sunsets were stunning. We had a wonderful family holiday and would definitely recommend Fig Tree Cottage as a fabulous venue we certainly hope to return! Thanks to Sykes for efficient organising and big thanks again to Ali and Dave you really couldn't have done any more! Loved our holiday!

A well equipped cottage in beautiful surroundings. Hot tub was a big hit, great base to explore surrounding areas. Lots to do with children, our kids loved Daves tortoise. Would love to go back at some point in future. Lovely to meet property owners, they were very lovely and helpful.
Christopher
The route to and from the cottage is along a single track road and it is situated at a top of the hill leaving you with amazing views and beautiful sunsets. It is about 10 minutes from Tiverton and food takeaways deliver here. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Upon our arrival we found basket with milk, bread, butter, scones, clotted cream, jam and dishwasher tablets. The food parcel was gratefully received after a long journey. The kitchen is well equipped and we loved the induction topped range oven. The large table in the kitchen had space for 8 people. The lounge has a lovely log burner, BT wifi decent speed, a large screen tv with smart tv apps which you could log in to and very comfortable leather sofas. Remember to turn off the rad in the lounge if you put on the log burner or the lounge will get very hot. A room thermostat would be useful
Made to feel very welcome and although the owners lived next door they did not impose and they were very helpfull. Ideal spot for using as a base and going for days out as it is central for south, north and east devon. Tiverton is close by for getting groceries and take aways if you can't be bothered to cook and Exeter is only about 12 miles away. The sky was so clear at night you could see millions of stars brilliantly
A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Made the perfect setting for a marriage proposal. The owners are extremely helpful especially through storm Eunice. The hot tub and log burner are a lovely added bonus. The location is lovely and rural but still not far to supermarkets etc. We would highly recommend this cottage. Having board games, books and DVDs was a nice touch. Suited our young family very well.
Natalie
Our party of 8 had a brilliant stay at Fig Tree Cottage! The cottage is cosy, spacious, wellequipped and spotlessly clean. The hot tub was a great hit with 4 teenagers. The hosts live on site and were generous, friendly, helpful but also unobtrusive. We highly recommend this cottage!
Elizabeth
If you are thinking of booking Fig Tree Cottage dont think just do it! The pictures are great but it is even better when you see it. From the moment we pulled up to the moment we left we felt at home. The Cottage is finished to a very high standard and is well equipped. Ali & Dave were great, nothing too much trouble I loved chatting with them. Will be re booking for next year. Liz
Brigitte
This was a lovely cottage with plenty of space for our family although it would also well suit 2 families sharing. The hot tub was a lovely treat after busy days exploring the beautiful countryside. The owners were very welcoming and helped with any queries we had plus offered great recommendations.
