About Owls Roost

The upstairs double bedroom is a romantic place for couples to chill out, with its en suite bathroom with a bath made for two. You will find the other two bedrooms downstairs, both with handy en suite too.

Outside the star feature is a hot tub in an adapted barn, big enough for five people to soak in after a long country walk, and complete with changing room with shower and furniture for eating outdoors. Enjoy games or a good book in the generous lawn garden with barbecue.

This is a lovely uncrowded coastline to enjoy. The beach at Combe Martin is sheltered and you can safely swim or hire kayaks here, and maybe even catch a thrilling glimpse of dolphins.

Bring your buckets because to either side of the beach are fabulous rock pools. The village has all you need in the form of shops and pubs, as well as a wildlife park, or walk the Coast Path to interesting Lynmouth and the funicular railway.

Woolacombe and Saunton have all the sand and surf you could wish for, or head to Ilfracombe where you can board a boat to Lundy Island. Owls Roost is a very special place, loved by the farming family owners, and the friendly atmosphere is wonderful.

Owls Roost Reviews

Graham
Lovely cottage with many extras we dont normally accept Very tastefully furnidshes
Richard
Owls Roost is a lovely farmhouse property situated on a working farm. It was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The views of the surrounding countryside were glorious. It is an excellent situation for visiting the North Devon and Somerset area. The owner, Jayne was very friendly and helpful. We can highly recommend Owls Roost. We did not see the owl but we did hear it.
Was a perfect stay for the family including a baby and 3 year old. Fantastic location with easy access to the coast.
Owlss Roost was ideal for our three generations. We loved being able to use the hot tub and the children delighted in playing in the garden searching for the rabbits that occasionally appeared. The central location allowed us easy access to many of N. Devons attractions. To top it all, the weather was glorious! We would happily return.

This property was well equipped, but there were none of the usual extras e. G. tinfoil, cling film, basic cooking seasonings, sugar, tea etc. No welcome pack or message from the owner and no information on how to use equipment heating, oven etc. The owner when approached was not very friendly. We arrived on a particularly coldwet July day and the property was cold and it was not easy to find how to put any heating on to take the chill off and dry things.
Owls Roost is a roomy ,well equipped property where a warm welcome was provided and every need catered for. It is situated in the countryside on a working farm ,with beautiful rural views which were appreciated whether sitting on the deck enjoying an early morning cuppa, or watching the evening sun set. The property was spotlessly clean and had ample parking for the 3 cars our family brought and also a garden in which to relax or play. A suitable base for families or groups of friends who wish to experience what North Devon has to offer.
Paul and myself have stayed at Owls Roost twice now and have found it home from home. The first time our daughter Michelle came with us and enjoyed the close proximity to the coastal paths. Jayne who looks after the cottage is very helpful and the property is very well equipped and comfortable. The views from the decking are amazing. The only thing that in our opinion would improve the holiday would be a smart television for evening viewing as Netflix members it would have been good to watch films and series.
Great find my second visit and not my last
I cant recommend the Owls Roost highly enough, its so cosy, warm and comfy. Its so well equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Jane and Keith are so friendly and welcoming. We loved everything about our stay and would love to return some day. Thanks for a very memorable stay

Absolutely loved this property! The best equipped weve ever rented, everything wed hoped for and brilliant for the children! Even though the weather was grim we had a truly lovely family holiday!!
Home from home! A beautiful property which was perfect for our stay with 4 adults. That was the 2nd time wed stayed at this property and it wont be the last! X

This is without doubt the best accommodation we have ever stayed in beautiful
Allison
The property is perfect and very well equipped for the 6 adults we had in our party with more than sufficient crockery, space etc. The terrace was lovely to sit on admiring the rolling countryside and distant sea views. The garden also with space to play badminton and have a barbeque was excellent. The hot tub too was kept spotlessly clean. Jane, our host, was available if needed and a considerable help when one of our party was taken ill on arrival. Good idea to phone Jane in advance for the more specific directions as the cottage name 'Owls Roost' was not signposted. An excellent stay and we would highly recommend for a quiet relaxing break but still within easy drive of beaches, towns etc
An amazing location, with amazing views from the living areas and raised decking. Sofas and beds were very comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped. We all had a wonderful holiday plenty of things to do for all ages! Downstairs shower door double bedded was not easy to open when coming out and the fan in the other bedroom became noisy towards the end of our stay.
Amazing accomadation, so comfortable, exceptionally clean and well equipt. Jayne and family excellent hosts , friendly and very welcoming. We can highly recommend this cottage to every one.The best accommodation we have ever stayed in. We will definitely be returning. We couldn't have wanted a better place to stay.
Lorraine
A lovely cottage, extremely comfortable, a helpful and friendly host, we enjoyed our stay here
We had a really lovely weekend at Owls Roost. The set up of the property was lovely. A real luxury having en suite bathrooms for every bedroom. The pressure of the shower was a little low for us but the bathrooms were spacious, modern and clean. Just a short drive to Combe Martin was perfect and easy access to the coastal path made for some lovely walks. We would definitely recommend.
Kenneth
The property is spacious, comfortable and generously equipped, in a rural working farm location perfect for exploring North Devon. The beds provided a very relaxing nights sleep. The only downside we noted, was the size of the provided bath towels, which we thought were on the small side.
Valerie
A beautifully equipped holiday home. We had a wonderful week.
Stephan
Excellent cottage a real home from home. All essentials for a successful holiday are supplied. a good location & the hot tub is a real bonus.
Cottage was lovely, clean, comfy and spacious. Situated in the farm views and wildlife exceptional. hostess was interesting, helpful really nice to meet her. absolutely no disappointments.

Could do with a sign at the end of driveway saying Owls Roost as we ended up in the opposite farm. Absolutely gorgeous place very cosy. Beautiful views and excellent hot tub.
Graham
Beautiful, comfortable property in superb condition throughout with all mod cons. Three good bedrooms each with its own bath or shower room so ideal for sharing with good friends. Situated on a working farm in glorious countryside but with good access to the North Devon coast and local towns and attractions. The hot tub and shower in a separate room across the yard is an attractive facility. Very welcoming, friendly hosts and, all together, a most enjoyable holiday.

We had a great stay at owls Roost is a fabulous place to stay Beautiful out look on the landscape. So comfortable slept like a log my self sister and 3 young children we made a great choice in booking here
Owls Roost was the perfect getaway for us with our two grown up daughters and their partners. A glorious location, quiet and secluded but within easy reach of Coombe Martin and the surrounding area. Spotlessly clean and our standards are high! and everything provided. Three generously sized double bedrooms each with their own ensuite. Attention to detail was faultless and the benefit of having the owner on site and taking obvious pride in accommodating their guests, made this the perfect stay for us. The outside balcony sitting area provided the idyllic setting for enjoying the glorious sunshine and breathtaking sunsets. The hottub also a welcome treat!
The property and location were perfect! The condition and cleanliness outstanding! The peace and tranquility was devine! The owners were welcoming. friendly and very accommodating. Our only negative was having to leave and go back home after a much needed break. We will be back as soon as we can.
Andrew

A very well equipped and comfortable cottage, a peaceful location for relaxing and enjoying the local area. The hot tub is excellent after a day out.

A lovely comfy, well equipped property with everything we needed. Jayne is a very helpful and friendly host. ..and on hand if we had any queries. We enjoyed the stunning scenery and hot tub. It is in a good location too for exploring the area. We would love to return one day.
