The dining room, with space for everyone, opens onto a patio through French doors. A ground-floor bedroom includes a king-size bed and cabin bunk beds, perfect for children under 12.

Upstairs, two more king-size bedrooms await, each with en-suite facilities.

One boasts a walk-in shower, while the other features a freestanding bath and walk-in shower. The cottage’s character shines through with exposed beams and bespoke furnishings, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere.

Outside, the spacious grounds offer an enclosed field, perfect for family games, and a charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining.

Relax on loungers or in the private hot tub, which seats five, while enjoying the beautiful countryside views.

Nearby attractions include the seaside amenities of Westward Ho! (1 mile), the fishing village of Appledore (3.5 miles), and the estuary beach at Instow (5 miles).

The Tarka Trail, a traffic-free cycle path, offers stunning views and is perfect for a leisurely ride.

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
