Tremorva Reviews

A fantastic house in a lovely quiet area, beautiful views and only a short walk into St Ives or Carbis Bay Beach. The property was perfect for our family holiday, large bedrooms with comfortable beds, one bedroom separate from the others gave my daughter some privacy with her new baby. Lovely fully fitted kitchen with everything you would need, a large dining area and plenty lounge areas to enjoy time together.Private parking was ideal and the rear outdoor space was fantastic.
Fabulous place with everything we needed x
We stayed at Tremorva between 4th11th May. With 7 members of our family. The house is in a fantastic location , with amazing views We could walk to Carbis bay in around 12 mins, and around 15 mins into st Ives. The house is very comfortable, the bedding and mattresses are of high quality. The kitchen has a good spec, and has two cookers, so we could cook easily for the whole family. The garden is nicely appointed and the table tennis was a big hit. It also has a downstairs toilet, and laundry room, this is next to the den which has games, and a PS3, with a big TV. Overall the house is fantastic and we would return. Just a couple of notes for the owner, needs a repaint touch in some areas, ensuite bathrooms need new grout and silicone.we found some areas were dusty, by TVs and radiators.
Renata
Lovely property with stunning views and we had a very nice stay. Would definitely return. If I may suggest, the inventory is missing a can opener and it needs at least extra 3 sharp knives as only 1 1 bread knife available. Also some chairs needed in the 4poster bedroom and new loo brush in the family bathroom is needed as very very dirty... Otherwise we'll equipped property with books, maps and the Sky TV is a great bonus!
Once again, we had a wonderful time at Tremorva we are serial returners! I think this was our 9th time we have stayed at the property. We were sorry to leave. Everything was perfect as always a special thank you to Kerry, the housekeeper.
Britney
Overall the property is great! The accuracy of the photos is spot on with the view. However, there were a few small things that need some attention Bed linen some is stained urine stain on one sheet and small stains on some pillowcases. Ensuite bathroom top door hinge is loose, so the bathroom door cant shut. Bedroom with balcony the bedroom door doesnt shut, doesnt latch its also squeaky. Bathroom to balcony room the door is extremely squeaky.

We have walked past this house for many years now, on our holidays and this year, decided to stay! The location is absolutely fantastic and, having used carbis bay holidays many times in the past, our expectations were high. The property was large and, on the surface at least, looked clean. On closer inspection, that was not the case. The house needs a thorough deep clean. For example, the drains in the bathrooms smelt dreadfully, the bedding and towels were grey and stained I didn't know you could get bedding to look so grubby after it had been washed!, the extractor fan in the ensuite was vile and the windows needed a clean. I had to wash the garden table down with hot soapy water and the two recliner chairs were unsafe and filthy. I did take pictures of all of these things, if you are interested. In the evening after our arrival, we realised that the three of the main bedroom lights would not turn off. We wouldn't have been able to sleep with them on. My husband phoned the out of hours contact number, expecting to hear from a housekeeper, as was always the case in the past. Unfortunately, we could only leave a message at a call centre in Chester! Eventually someone local called us back but the problem was not resolved until the Monday, when a very nice electrician turned up and changed all the dimmer switches! If appropriate light bulbs had been left in the property, we could have sorted it ourselves. We were so very disappointed. This could be such a fabulous property.
Perfect location for exploring St Ives and Carbis Bay on foot. Spacious accommodation and lovely garden. We never used the hot tub as spent most of the week out and about on foot, never used the cars once we had arrived. Requested a cot be provided, and asked if this was traditional or a travel cot. We were told it was a travel cot but Sykes failed to mention no mattress would be provided apparently 'no bedding is provided for the cot' also includes the mattress!! As all travel cots are different, chances of your own mattress fitting is pot luck. Luckily after a 60 mile round trip we were able to borrow one from somebody who lives in Cornwall. Despite this we had a fantastic week.
A lovely comfortable holiday home. .everything we hoped it would be..nice touches such as leaving tea coffee and sugar, also milk and apple juice in the fridge..daughters and grandkids loved the hot tub..we had a job to drag them away to go out somewhere..great location with beautiful views..would book again like a shot when we are next in Cornwall..
Christine
Fabulous holiday, amazing property. Loved everything and we will be back to stay in the future xx
We loved our recent stay at Tremorva, and didn't want to come home. Everything was spotlessly clean as usual it was our 8th stay!, and the facilities are excellent, with everything you would need, provided. We have already booked for next year, and counting the days. Would highly recommend to others.
Cheryl
Stayed at Tremorva with my family in Aug 22. We had an amazing time and would consider returning again in the near future despite the several teething issues we encountered. Given the cost for one weeks stay in peak summer, I was disappointed to find holes in the towels, mouldy filter in the coffee machine, batteries not working in the TVSKY remotes, SKY not working at all on the lounge TV, cobwebs covered in dust in most bedrooms, marks on bed linen, coldwarm bath water and a sharp stair bannister that my young daughter caught her thigh on resulting in a large cut. I did report these issues and the response was quick to resolve or try to resolve for our time in the house. So I cant fault that. I do think the owner needs to have it deep cleaned, and change the regular cleaners as they are not doing a great job. Theres also a few bits of maintenance around the house that it would benefit from. Its a lovely house just needs some TLC. So dont let my comments put you off we would definitely consider returning there! The BBQ in the garden was filthy so we decided not to use. Would be best placed disposing of and replacing.

We absolutely loved staying at Tremorva and had a wonderful holiday. The house is perfectly located and all the fixtures and fittings are stunning quality. The views are phenomenal and looking out at the sea, watching the light change across the day was an absolute highlight. The only shame is that the hot tub doesn't bubble. We did know that before we booked, but it is a shame not to be able to use it fully I think time restricted use would be a much better idea that just having it off completely. That said, we're keen to rebook for next year and would recommend this property.
We loved the property perfect for a family holiday. My only concern is that i cut my arm on the edge of a glass bedside table top which is very sharp and after i checked and they all are. I think this is a danger for small children. I have a scar on my arm.
Elizabeth
Amazing home had everything we needed had the best time but the hot tube was a let down, only used for three days due to yellow build up inside and bits floating out of filter. I would say this need improvement but everything else was amazing.
The cottage was great and plenty of activities for the kids. The views were incredible and location was brilliant. Although the property was surface level clean it would benefit from a deep clean as there are cobwebs and dust on objects throughout the house. We also found a pair of socks in a drawer and loose objects including screws and rubber. It was also slightly disappointing the property was not child proofed with multiple sharp objects in low places.
Beautiful property had everything and more to make our stay special.
We had a wonderful stay at Tremorva. The house was beautiful, spacious and clean and the views were amazing. The children's den, table tennis in the garden along with all the toys and games were a wonderful extra. The WiFi was hit and miss so we were restricted with the TV channelsSky but we managed to find lots of films on Netflix. and the advertised parking for 3 cars is a little optimistic unless you have very small cars. We only managed to get two cars on the drive but there was space on the road so it wasn't an issue. High season may be a different matter. Overall we had a fabulous time and we would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you.
Stewart
Lovely property, well presented. Great location and can see why so popular. Enjoyed waking and have the Brie of the bay every day. The house had all we needed to support 4 generations of our family for a special break. Thankyou to the owners for making the house available and allowing us to enjoy a special week in our lives.
A majority of the property as advertised was correct. Advertised as Hotube, but didn't state in the particulars that it was none functional!! Woodburner, was for the size of property inadequate and the Tv area adjacent was of an odd and strange setup offering confused and somewhat a dysfunctional arrangement. The what seemed like the main bedroom with four poster bed was quite clearly in need of attention and maintenance as it rocked squeeked and felt unstable and being the main bedroom was of somewhat a disappointment, the local maintenance man agreed on a requested visit that it would take more than a couple of spanners to fix and suggested we should stay in the bedroom we had occupied since arrival! I have to finally ad that this bedroom had mold on the wall directly above the headboard. Lovely located property. I was asked to give feed back which I feel I have done in an honest way and also feel that especially considering the asking price this premium property in the height of the season the owners should go the extra mile to make this an absolute 1st class property.
Zuzana
Amazing House, huge amounts of space, loved it!
Claire
A beautiful spacious house tucked away in a quiet street but only a couple of minutes from the coastal path. An idea property for us to spend a relaxing week with our two daughters, their partners and our 20 month old granddaughter who loved all of the toys and the open plan space. I will always have many happy memories of our time sat around the table with family and the wonderful view.
We had a wonderful time at Tremorva as usual it was our 7th stay. The fact that we have returned so many times shows how much we love it, and everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We were a party of 8 adults this time, but there was still plenty of room for everybody to spread out. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed our stay and enjoyed everything that the house has to offer. We have already re booked for next year! There was a leak from an ensuite bathroom, which was discovered by the cleaner on changeover, prior to our arrival, as it had seeped into the walk in wardrobe, which was promptly addressed and it was checked again when we reported that there was a fault with the boiler which also received prompt attention, and resealed once more. Carbis Bay Holidays provided a dehumidifier to dry the carpet. It didn't impact on our friends who were staying in that room though. See you next year Tremorva!
There were a few small problems such as bath not holding water and Tv in 1 of the bedrooms not working which were unfortunately. We were grateful that the bath was fixed promptly but the Tv was not. It is also a big shock to see how much of a rental increase there is for next year, unfortunately we are now completely outpriced!
Petrina
Fabulous house and views . Very comfortable with everything you need. Felt like a family home. We also enjoyed the Thermal Pool. Would love to stay again.
Stephen
The location of the house and the amazing views that it offered.
Initial communications with Carbis Bay Holidays was excellent. However, when the company was taken over by Sykes this rapidly fell short of the usual customer service we were used to. On arrival at the property, floors in the kitchen area and lounge looked dirty. Skirtings all over the house were covered in dust. The kitchen cupboards were dirty and dusty and the fridge had not been cleaned. Bathroom sinks were not thoroughly cleaned and the plug in the family bathroom was not working. Independent towel rails were not working unless the heating was turned on. A PIN number was required in order to watch certain movies on the TV. Two light bulbs missing from the extension bedroom. Soap dispenser in washing machine was filthy. I telephoned on 3 July at 13.32 to request an early check in as our shopping was due 45 pm. I was told that the cleaner had not even entered the house at this stage and my request was declined. I was somewhat surprised as due to COVID felt that a 4 bedroom family home would require an extensive clean between changeovers. This clearly was not the case. As the local office in St Ives was closed, I telephoned on Monday and spoke with Calli to request 2 light bulbs and a plumber as we were unable to use the bath. With 2 ten month old babies and a small child this was inconvenient. I requested a PIN number for the TV as the weather was awful as we decided to stay at the house this day. I also gave feedback with regard to the state of the house when we arrived. I was promised a return call but this did not happy. However, maintenance turned up with 2 light bulbs and the plumber came to fix the plug. The repair was short lived and the following day we were unable to use the bath yet again! With two young babies, I did request a slightly later check out at 10.00 am bearing in mind the cleaner did not arrive on 3 July until gone 2.00 pm, however, this was declined and the cleaner was waiting on the doorstep at 9.00 am prompt which was somewhat intimidating. It is somewhat frustrating when your holiday is consumed with niggly complaints and to say we were disappointed in the customer services from Sykes is an understatement.

We had a wonderful time at Tremorva once again. We were with friends and there was plenty of room for us all to spread out. It was actually our 5th visit to this wonderful house and we have already booked for next year too! The views are amazing to wake up to. It is central for the many coastal walks nearby and of course the beaches are outstanding! Not far to walk to them either. It will be a long year before we go back! We had a fabulous family holiday in St Ives over Christmas. The layout of Tremorva is perfect for a family gathering as it has a sociable dining area and plenty of space in the other reception rooms to relax. The Den was great for my niece to base herself with the baby after early morning wake ups and the teenagers enjoyed this room later when they wanted their own space. The lounge area felt very festive and was where we spent a lot of our time playing board games in the evening in front of the cosy log fire. This house made for a very special Christmas break. Thank you. Ann Redpath
