Erme Reviews

We just came back from a week in Erme cabin and we are so sad to be home! It's a beautiful cabin, in an even more beautiful location. I stayed with my husband and two young children , who absolutely loved it. It's not the most accessible accommodation for anyone with mobility issues both sleeping areas are accessed by steps up to the mezzanine, with quite low ceilings. We managed fine, the kids very quickly learned how to manoeuvre it safely and very much enjoyed the novelty of it! Just a couple of banged heads by the grown ups! It's also a little bit of a walk once you've parked the car, down a slightly uneven gravel path. Not an issue for us, but could be for some. The road down to the cabin is a long farm track. Much like the roads in the area, it's very narrow and windy. We got used to it by the end of the week! We were pleased to find a pint of milk and some fresh eggs on arrivals, which was very much appreciated! The kitchen is very well stocked, better than anywhere I've stayed before! Tea towel, washing up liquid, tin opener... All provided! And really lovely dishes and pans too. For such a small space, it works really well. There's very little storage so we did keep our clothes in the bags, but there is a fair amount of floor space in the bedrooms so that was fine! We all slept really well, the curtains do a good job blocking the sun. The bathroom was lovely, with a nice hot shower. A big enough sofa for us all to watch the Tele in an evening, and really appreciated the availability of streaming and WiFi. The hot tub was the star of the show. We struggled to get it to light, but luckily my parents were in the area so grandad to the rescue! The best thing is once it's hot, all you need to do when you want to use it again, is add more wood. The lid keeps the heat in! It was amazing watching the barn owl whilst star gazing in the hot tub. The location is brilliant. Mothecombe beach is down the road and was 3 to park. Lovely sand and rocks to explore. Again, a bit steep of a walk. And nearby surfing cow gelato is a must! Only 25 mins to Plymouth centre, and only just over an hour over the border to Cornwall. Worth noting that as it's very nearby to the farm house, you do get regular visits by chickens and the dog, who was very well behaved. Kim was very responsive and helpful via WhatsApp, despite being super busy herself, which was really appreciated. If we are ever back in the area, I would certainly consider staying here again! My parents even said they'd live there!
Lovely setting and comfy premises. What I would say is that the pics are slightly deceptive as it sort of shows plenty of land for kids to play on but as it turned it it was all fencedoff with barbed wire farmland. I would also suggest mentioning that there is no place to store clothes in the premises. It was very much a 'living out the suitcase' situation. Finally for the price and considering the woodfired hottub is a feature of the booking throwing in enough wood for the week rather than paying 8 a day if used daily I don't think would be too much to ask? Overall a fun little place to stay with all you need and the owners were friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful setting and very helpful host who responded very prompted.

Myself and a friend stayed at Erme for 3 nights. The hosts were lovely, friendly and extremely kind. They done way more than what a host is obligated to do and I couldn't be more thankful. The facilities were lovely and clean. And we enjoyed seeing the chickens and dogs when they came to visit. It's a lovely quiet place with a stunning view. With walks and beaches close by. I would definitely stay again with a group of friends or family. Thank you to Kim and Ant for a lovely stay!
We really enjoyed our stay for New Years Eve. The surroundings are so beautiful and the cabin is so cosy!
Thank you for a fabulous stay! The cabin is beautifully unique and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We also loved the added Christmas decorations! We wanted somewhere quiet and away from our usual city life. This was a lovely bit of escapism and just the treat for us and our two children. My son particularly enjoyed it when the chickens came to visit! The time and effort that has gone into this cabin is truly outstanding. It felt magical staying here and I cant compliment it enough! With the code given before arrival, we were able to just get straight on with our break away. Lights and heat were on upon our arrival, with a little welcome note, fresh eggs and milk. We really did have a lovely stay and we would 100 recommend this wonderful cabin.

What a lovely lovely wholesome stay we had here. We came away for a few nights with our two childrenmy husband booked it as a birthday treat just at the beginning of December. The wooden lodge was beautiful, so cosy and warm as soon as we arrived. The hosts who are a lovely family of 5 greeted us and helped set up the hot tub on arrival which heated up just lovely! The lodge was so clean and had everything we needed for a few nights away. The beds were also very comfy and the kids loved the whole set up! The setting was even better, peaceful with only the sounds of a few owls and we even spotted some deer over in the hill. The hosts also popped over on the morning of my birthday with a bottle of fizz and balloons which was so nice. Kim was always a message or phone call away and gave us some great recommendations for places to visit and eatdrink at! We loved Mothecombe beach and had a very good Sunday lunch at the ship inn at nosa mayo. We had some lovely walks and even took a drive in down to salcombe which was very nice too. The weather was frosty and cold and the lodge felt so festive and cosy. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much. Highly recommend
We had an amazing few days stay with our two young boys. They loved the cabin and the sleeping arrangements and we all enjoyed the fantastic views and wildlife from sitting in the hot tub. The cabin is extremely cosy, something we neednt have worried about. Will 100 come back.

Spent 4 nights in the Erme lodge with my Fianc and was an amazing stay, lodge very well kept with great furnishings, high quality inside, has all the comforts you need to feel at home, very cosy and the views are amazing! We made use off the private hot tub which again looks out onto the views of the area which is very peaceful and relaxing. The hosts were on hand straight away if we ever needed anything and provided a hamper at an additional cost which was worth the money! Will definitely visit again as we had such a lovely time and also to visit Bea which made stay even better as we were missing our 3 dogs at home!
This is an amazing little property in a fantastic location. The chalet is delightful quirky and cozy with everything you could want for a delightful stay. It is ideally placed for exploring lovely south Devon, and a beautiful retreat to come back to after a day's sightseeing. Sadly, the weather wasn't kind to us so using the hot tub wasn't an option, but we will certainly return at some stage to make sure we do! Thank you Kim and Ant for everything you did to make us welcome from the thoughtful local eggs and milk to the fresh flowers on our arrival. We would certainly recommend this beautiful property in a stunning location to anyone wanting a get away from it all break.
Stayed for a girls weekend in September. The Erne was clean, tidy and unique. It had good facilities including a hot tub and a bbq. We did struggle to get the hot tub working and there were fire lighters missing, however this problem was quickly resolved after contacting the owner. In future, having a guide for the hot tub may be useful! The area was very quiet, which was relaxing however you will definitely need to drive if you wish to seek activities outside of the cabin. Overall, a great weekend and definitely would stay again!
Alles goed geregeld en voorbereid. Uniek onderkomen. Je moet wel van rust houden. De weg naar het onderkomen is slecht begaanbaar en bij het uitrijden te onoverzichtelijk
We felt very blessed to have discovered this place. It was exactly what we needed and fulfilled all expectations. The location itself really is 'hidden' and the cabin is positioned perfectly. The lack of light pollution and the close proximity to woodland meant total tranquillity, where even the dawn chorus didn't wake us up too early! We got to see a Barn Owl out hunting at dusk on our first night... I love the outdoors BUT I DON'T CAMP or even 'glamp' and the quality of the finish, bed linen, cleaning products, everything a fussy mare like me could want was exactly what I got... we will never forget our first stay and next time we will make longer.. ps. hot tub was ready for our arrival and we preordered a hamper sublime cherries on top!!
We booked the cabin for 2 nights to celebrate my husband's 'big' birthday and we had a truely memorable time. This was our first experience at glamping and the cabin was perfect it was luxurious and all our needs were catered for Ant and Kim were terrific hosts and ensured the birthday was one to remember. They'd even lit the hot tub so that it was ready to jump into on our arrival. The cabin is in an idyllic location, so tranquil and we loved watching the barn owl every evening. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here you won't be disappointed. Thank you one again to Ant and Kim for being terrific hosts and being so thoughtful. Dawn Ward
Erme is a wonderful hideaway, nestled in the Devon hills, with views over the fields, woods below, and Dartmoor in the distance. Myself and my wife stayed for a week upon our return to the UK, and honestly couldnt fault any aspect of our stay. The hosts, Kim and Ant emailed us all of the appropriate details in advance, and ensured that the cabin was ready for our arrival, even including some essentials such as Milk, Tea and Coffee to get us going. Along with these basics, they provided wood to fire up the hot tub, which was a most welcome treat after our journey especially sitting back in the tub with a drink, watching the owl from the woods below flying around the fields. The cabin itself is wonderful, with everything you could possibly need for a peaceful get away or just a moment to reset. Ill be honest and say I was a little nervous about getting into the sleeping area, given that Im 6ft3, but it was easier than I expected, and the raised position meant that the superbly comfortable bed was extra cosy whilst we lay listening to the rain outside on one of the evenings. The location is perfect for jaunts into Plymouth, over to the South Hams and Kingsbridge and beyond, and is easy to access from the A38. There is ample parking, and since the cabin is set well back from the road, the location provides a level of peace and escapism which is often lost in hotels and campsites. Overall, we cant recommend a stay here highly enough, and have already said that we plan to return to stay again, the next time we are in the UK.
My Family had a wonderful few days here. The hosts were very attentive and were happily available if required. The property is set in a private idyllic location. The attention to detail in the accommodation is impressive and the living area is surprisingly spacious. Our 2 boys aged 8 & 10 found it a real adventure. We will definitely return.
We had a couple of amazing couple of days stay, very friendly owners, always on ... We had a couple of amazing couple of days stay, very friendly owners, always on hand if need anything will definitely be going back again hopefully soon, amazing place, the overlooking nature surrounding you is just incredible, nature at its best,so peaceful and lovely to see the wildlife, seeing barn owns, deers and stags in the distance, very friendly chickens every morning come to say hallo, just makes your stay here more homely look forward very much in returning to stay again soon
This lodge is amazing! We loved it! Great location, very quiet and well equipped! Would highly recommend
Really great stay over bank holiday! Immaculately clear, great views and the hosts are fab! Reasonable price aswell compared to other stays! Will deffo be back!
What a fabulous pod! The space was extremely well utilised with a lot of thought going into every part. The furnishings were top end and there was absolutely nothing that I could say was not up to scratch. What it doesnt say in the listings Lots of utensils including decent knives. Hairdryer. Undercounter fridge with freezer compartment didnt know the size. Heated towel rail which helped with the drying of swimwear! Take your binoculars! There is so much nature on the doorstep. We watched the sun go down and the moon come up whilst spotting a deer, fox, birds of prey including the barn owl. I panicked over if i would have enough wood for my stay log burning hot tub but the owners text me in advance of arrival and were there to greet me and show how everything worked. They were happy to provide more logs at a lower cost than a supermarket either by me texting or if I saw them. Thoroughly recommend staying here!
