Gwelfor Reviews

Just spent a lovely week at Gwelfor with our daughter and our 4 dogs. Fantastic location for the beach and coastal walks. The property is a little tired in places, but clean and comfortable. Great enclosed garden for the dogs with a fab hot tub to relax in after being out on the beach. Contact with the hosts DJ & Lee was great. Would definitely recommend.
We were very disappointed with this property the quality of the furnishings was good but the lack of general upkeep and maintenance was poor all laminate floors need to be changed as there were parts worn out and gave way in parts creating trip hazards. Walls were dirty in my view it needed a paint job throughout. the bathroom needs attention rusty fittings sink unit fascia peeling etc etc.hot tub cover broken and nearly falling off very difficult to open without it falling off.for the premium paid we expected a lot more
Very decent place to stay, good location and comfortable. Only complaints would be lack of of an infowelcome pack, not many tea towels and no oven gloves!
Excellent property in an excellent location. Fantastic communication and assistance by the owners. Would highly recommend !

Had a lovely stay at Gwelfor, good space and well equipped, lots of decent walks on the doorstep or within a short drive. Nice touch with the hot tub.
We were a party ranging from 2 years old to 83 years old accompanied by 3 dogs. We found the property just right for us and appreciated the garden being fully fenced in. Lovely footpath leading to the beach starting a few minutes from the front door which was ideal for our great granddaughter to enjoy. We loved the beaches we visited as did the dogs of course plus the wonderful views and lunch in the cafe at South Stack which was excellent. The hot tub was relaxing after a busy day . We will book again , Erica
Had a lovely week at Gwelfor. The cottage had everything we needed. Lovely hot tub. Weather was amazing. So very lucky.
Lovely house ,well equipped ,quiet location but close to all amenities. We really enjoyed our stay

Excellent communication, when needed, off the owner. A great place for all the family to stay, and can even be altered to a 4 bedroom accommodation to facilitate narky teenagers! Weve rebooked for next year, with the promise off the owner, that a small alteration to the garden will be made to suit the needs of our family, and future families that may arrive. Id highly recommend this property.
Not a problem as such, but couldn't find a wheelie bin or any recycling boxes. Lovely hot tub. Safe garden for dogs. Couple of minutes walk to beach, shops, pub so very good location.
Spent a very relaxing week here, with family members. Kitchen has everything you want and more. Beds comfy too. Really close to beach, so Grandson loved it. Evenings spent unwinding in the hot tub
Just had a lovely week in Gwelfor the location was amazing just a short walk to the beautiful Cemaes Bay! Also a peaceful riverside walk just at the bottom of the road. The house is lovely, big enough for 6 people, the beds were comfortable and good quality bedding & plenty of towels. The hot tub was fabulous and not overlooked. The garden is private and secure so furry friends were safe
A wonderful house in a great location. Owners were very friendly and helpful. 3 Large bedrooms and a spacious kitchen as well as a lovely lounge area. Would definitely stay again.
We absolutely loved the place my other half booked it for my 40th birthday for a week and we will definitely be back. House was in perfect quite location enclosed garden for dogs, house itself is clean tidy and decorated beautifully with a bonus of the hot tub setting it all off. Owners were not far away an done anything to help, friendly and helpful. Beach is within walking distance of 5 min perfect and gives the house lovely views too. Shops not far away in the car also for us as a family who like it quiet peaceful holiday it was perfect can't praise the place enough thank you for a lovely holiday.
Had a fabulous time here with the family. The owners are lovely. Would definitely come again. The house had every thing we needed in a gorgeous part of Anglesey.
A very enjoyable stay in a beautiful house, with luxury kitchen & beautiful living room,& bedrooms. The hot tub was in a really good spot in a very well kept garden. Could do with a little work on the bathroom & a 2 nd shower room would be ideal.Really enjoyed our stay & would return .The owners were on hand to drop off anything if needed ,it was fully equipped with all you needed for a weeks stay.
32 Gwelfor is a stunning house with an amazing garden, in a perfect location to walk to the beach. The garden gets the sun all day and is an amazing space for the dog. The house is lovely and warm, comfortable sofa and beds. The shower is great in the bathroom. The sea view from the upstairs second lounge is a good place to watch the sunset. The hot tub is big and stays warm. Everything is high spec and the house has made a good holiday great. We will be back.

Thanks for a lovely stay in another one of your amazing properties Location great, quiet location, short walk to beach and shops. Pub down the road the Harbour nice food, dogs welcome inside & out I would recommend short walk across the field from the beach for the Gladys hotel restaurant. Owner of this property recommended this and I was not disappointed, lovely food, friendly staff, balcony overlooking the sea and the dogs welcome inside & out. The decor is amazing in this holiday let. Loved all the mod cons & especially the hot tub. I have 2 small yorkies & the garden was perfect for them to run around and not be able to escape . I recommend a trip out to the Shanti bar & restaurant in Treaddur Bay dogs allowed inside up to 6pm advisable to book. Will definitely be booking to go back next year

Lovely house on a nice quiet estate. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and very nicely furnished. 2 mins from the beach, couple of nice pubs, village butchers, cracking chippy, convenience store and a nice restaurant. What more could you want.
Claire
The owners kindly contacted us at 8am on the morning of arrival to say that we could book in anytime. This was very much appreciated. We also had cause to contact them for advice during our stay not property related and they sorted us out quickly and efficiently. Very friendly throughout. We very much enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, well equipped property in a very peaceful location. The dogs loved pottering around in, and exploring the garden. The beautiful weather was a bonus! Thank you.
A real home from home and a credit to the owners who have thought of everything.
Elaine
Gwelfor is a lovely home from home property. It is extremely well equipped and the owners just a txt or call away if needed. Will definitely stay here again!
Excellent property, clean, nicely decorated with everything we needed. Nice to get a call from the owner on our arrival to check everything was in order.
Well maintained had a wonderful holiday
Fabulous location! !! The house has all that you can need and is well equipped, is modern in its decorations, has good quality bed linens ensuring a great nights sleep, a nice enclosed garden which was great for the dog to roam around in, a secluded hot tub and is set in a secluded culdesac. Friendly owners who were contactable if needed. However, the house requires a little TLC in the painting and decoration sense, floorings which need replacing and the hot tub lid needs repairing. The twinkly lights in the tree in the garden do not work its the little things, that make it rough round the edges. Sorted out, this house would be perfect, it is a great party pad. We would return as the location is sublime!!!!
Patricia
On arrival at Gwelfor we couldnt believe the comfort the house had to offer. Gwelfor was well equipped, could not ask for more. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Had a fantastic week at Gwelfor the house is a credit to the owners. This must be one of the best equipped holiday homes we have stayed in even a dog bowl ! The property was spotlessly clean when we arrived all furnishings are top quality, bed linen was beautiful very comfortable beds and pillows. Lovely enclosed garden ideal for dogs and children with the added bonus of the hot tub. The house is situated close to the beach and local pubs. The Harbour and The Stagg are very dog friendly and do fabulous food, good chip shop just up the Main Street. We will definitely be returning.
Absolutely 5 star accommodation. Gorgeous view of bay from front step and upstairs room. Lovely bedding..goosedown quilt so comfy. Safe garden for dogs. Great little village few mins walk away. Loved our 14 day stay. Owners could not have been more helpful but in obtrusive ast the same time. Little gem..cannot recommend enough.
The property is 2 mins from the beach and village shops in a quiet location. On arrival it was spotless, with hand sanitiser and hand wash provided. The dcor is lovely, and the beds, sofa, chair are all very comfortable. Huge smart tv in the living room with Netflix and sky. WiFi was great with no issues. Kitchen is probably one of the best equipped we've had in a self catering property, literally everything you could need was provided. The pans and cooking trays were all spotless. We only cooked on the first night, as we ate out the rest of the time but its got everything for a full self catering holiday, along with a coffee machine and plenty of cutlery, plates etc. Bedrooms all very comfortable, the downstairs bedroom was ideal for my Mum who has mobility issues due to her knees. The are a few steps outside the front door which we knew when booking which were a bit steep for my mum but she managed for the week. Garden is also a good size and fully secure for dogs, so we were able to open the door and let our dog explore without having to worry about her getting out. However, there are couple of things that we feel need attention. There are no external wheelie bins for rubbish or recycling, so we had to leave black bins bags tied up next to the garden shed. The property has an open fire, but no wood or matches provided. Given the rental premium, initial starter logs, kindling, firelighters, matches etc. should be provided and then customers left to purchase anything extra. The property needs a visitor information bookfolder about the property and surrounding area for those visitors who may not know the island as well as we do. There were plenty of large bath towels, but only one hand towel provided. Luckily we'd taken a couple with us just in case, but again these are small issues that are easy to resolve for the owners. We would stress that these are not criticisms they would not stop us from booking the property again, but would increase the value for money experience. Also the key collection details are incorrect and need to be updated, the email stated there is a key safe however, that is not correct. One of the helpful owners rang us, just as were were arriving to let us know.
This was a very comfortable and airy property. Generally the quality of facilities was high and the hot tub was fabulous. The only negative aspect was the cost it did feel overpriced for the location, however I suspect that was due to increased demand because of the pandemic.

We had the most wonderful week at cemeas bay, the beach which is 4 minutes walk away from the house and is very close to amenities with a few shops including a butchers, gift shop, chemist , pubs, art shop and a 5 star rating chippy which was ideal. Although the weather wasnt fantastic the house was immaculate, clean, very modern and bright the kitchen is perfect and very spacious with everything you need its like going from home to home. Upstairs has a lovely room which you can see the stunning views of cemeas bay , also theres a down stairs bedroom which you can also see the sea view. The living room is very spacious, which has patio doors that opens on to the beautiful enclosed garden which is perfectly safe and secure our frenchie loved running around
We had the most fantastic week at Gwelfor, lovely clean holiday cottage. Enclosed garden for the dogs. The house was fantastic, the perfect base for returning to for relaxing in the hot tub after a day of exploring. Would definitely recommend!
Warwick
The house was so comfortable and bright with every amenity that you would need from baking facilities, to flavoured cooking oils, a perfectly clear TV screen and a Snug to chill after spending time in the Hot Tub. Large bedrooms, wonderful kitchen and a comfortable lounge. Simply just a great way to spend a relaxing week. The convenience store, the pubs and the Chip shop are just a very short walk away and yet there are coastal walks that will take your further a field. A great relaxing week where we also had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who were both great friendly people. Thank you.
We have just spend 5 days at Gwelfor 4 adults and 3 dogs. We had the best time, the house exceeded our expectations. Very spacious the garden is beautiful and very pet friendly and the hot tub was used daily after long days exploring different areas and beaches with the dogs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
A beautiful well equipped house in a lovely setting. Very helpful owners. Convenient for beach, village and interesting walks. Ideally placed for visiting the island. The hot tub was very welcome after a days exploring.

Absolutely loved our stay in Gwelfor. It was a long overdue holiday and luckily the sun shone for the week we were there, because due to lockdown everything apart from shops was still closed. It was a first trip to Cemaes Bay and it was stunning with lots of walks and a beautiful beach from the doorstep. The cottage had everything great TV set up, which is handy for those evenings inside with young kids in bed. The kitchen was stunning as was everything else really. Not to mention the hot tub, which was a godsend for young kids who had had enough of being dragged out for walks. The owner was also on hand via text for any advice. On the whole, loved it and would love to go back.
Lesley
