Wonderful & welcoming hosts. This house is beautifully positioned and really well maintained - perfect for our annual UK reunion of childhood friends. Kath & Ivan made sure we had everything we needed, all the relevant information for the house and regularly checked in with us that everything was well. We celebrated my mums 70th at Greenacres and it was perfect for all age groups. The older ladies chilled looking at the spectacular views whilst the children and parents walked for miles then chilled in hot tub. Our favourite areas was the conservatory and middle lounge. The children loved the pool table and garden. We felt very special staying herRead moree. Kath and Ivor could not do anymore for us, they were excellent owners . Fantastic cottage. Loads of room. Very Friendly hosts. Hot tub was lovely. Short walk to Lyme park which great for walking the dog and great views. Other than walking the dogs we didn't venture out as didn't need to. We went as two families of 5, property ideal for this but would also suit other group set ups.

This house has to be stayed in to understand just what a great property it is! We stayed as a 3 generation family holiday and it was loved by all. Great location to explore the surrounding area and the property is large enough to lose yourself in if you require any privacy. The hosts Kath and Ivan are the best hosts weve experienced (were regular hRead moreoliday cottage users) and are an example of how other hosts should be. We will definitely be coming back! Hide

Peak District National Park -
about 18 Miles
The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
Gulliver's World Theme Park - WA5 9YZ
about 23 Miles
This is a very popular theme park with three different locations.  The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios.  The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days.  Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October.  You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods.  Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.
Gullivers Kingdom - DE4 3NT
about 25 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT
about 25 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
Gulliver's Kingdome - WA5 9YZ
about 25 Miles
Gulliver's Kingdome is a family friendly theme park offering many attractions for children of all ages. The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. For the little ones there are rides such as the veteran cars and the balloon wheel and Diego and Dora the Explorer are on hand to make sure they are having a great time. Between the 21st and 31st of October the park becomes a spooky Halloween spectacular with a range of shows and fireworks to enjoy. Standard prices are £12.00 for adults and children over 90cm. Group booking discounts are available.
Alton Towers - ST10 4DB
about 26 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW
about 27 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
