Don't expect use of the hot tub on the day of arrival as it was stone cold when I arrived.I paid for a full weekend and only managed to use it on two evenings. Having been in touch with the owner himself and holiday cottages I was basically told there's nothing they can do,I asked for a nights refund and have been refused any kind of goodwill gestuRead morere. Book this property at your own risk. I will not use this company again or recommend it to anyone I know. Hide

Lovely clean cosy cottage. Bed super comfy. Rainfall shower was lovely & hot with under floor heating. The cottage was very clean. We went in December and there were some extra nice touches for the season including a Christmas tree in the bedroom which was lovely. The cottage suited our two night stay. The garden is at the front of the property but the hot tub is screened off from the road. The road was very quiet anyway and we had no problem with tRead moreraffic noise. We had a lovely stay. We had two dogs with us who sleep in crates which worked okay but didnt leave a lot of space. We had a lovely weekend, despite the snow! The cottage is ideal for a couple, the location is fab too.
Hannah
The cottage itself is cosy and charming but the location is awful. No parking, and situated on a busy road with cars speeding up and down; which can be heard from inside. Not the ideal relaxing getaway we had hoped for. Also neighbours either side. No real privacy for the hot tub either; there's a fence and small iron gate. We booked for 3 nights, Read moreleft after 2. Hide

Lovely cottage and facilities, great location. From the photos it looks like the garden is secluded. But with the low wrought iron gate it is actually exposed. Also, didnt feel 100% comfortable at letting dogs out without being in the patio area with them, as catch on gate easily opened if they jumped at it! Which they would do if saw someone or heRead moreard another dog. Hide

Lovely cosy cottage, the hot tub made it for us especially after a day of walking. Great shower and comfortable bed. However the cottage sits directly on a main busy noisy road which wasnt clear when we booked. We didnt use the oven whilst there either as it was dirty and in need of a clean. I wouldnt recommend this cottage as dog friendly due to tRead morehe closeness to the road, steep stone steps to go upstairs and the limited outdoor space. Hide

Great cottage well located to explore the Peaks and fab hot tub. Lovely bright spacious bedroom and well equipped kitchen. Great base for a few nights stay.

A lovely location with easy access to the Middleton moors so lovely for dog walking. Tourist attractions such as the miniature railway and Middleton Top pump house were also in walking distance. Good bus route to Cromford and Wirksworth. Two welcoming pubs in the village and the Rising Sun offered a great homely menu. Having the hot tub was amazing after long walks each day. The bedroom was lovely - very comfortable and so quiet! Best sleeps in ages.

A beautiful, cosy and welcoming cottage in an excellent location for exploring the Peak District. An incredibly comfortable and cosy bed, a well equipped kitchen and the hot tub was very welcome of an evening (although the cover was a bit tricky to get on and off.) We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend to others.
Neil
Cottage is well located for walking. Hot tub is great after a days walking. Bedroom is roomy and bed really comfy. Shower room is very nice. For our stay we found that the oven was filthy and we were not happy to use it. Cottage windows were very draft.
Christopher
A lovely cosy cottage, my wife and I had a lovely relaxing stay here, I would recommend and I would return.A good location for exploring all that the beautiful Derbyshire Dales and Peak District has too offer.
Simon
New year stay. Lovely cottage in quiet village. Good facilities, washing machine & dishwasher included. Log burner was lovely for the cold nights. Good size towels provided. Hot tub lovely, it is at the front of the property & with a low gate so you may feel exposed (we didnt see anyone). Road can be busy. Great location for exploring local towns j ust 15-20 mins to Bakewell or Matlock. Steep curved staircase to be mindful of when going downstairs to the bathroom at night. We would return
Chris
A beautiful place in a beautiful location. We loved our time there, would highly recommend.
Gaynor
Beautiful little cottage in a great location, very clean with very comfortable bed & pillows. Well equipped, & hot tub was the icing on the cake!! Extremely happy with everything & had a fabulous time, would recommend to anyone & will be coming back.
Tina
Cottage very clean and tidy I would only go again if had a small dog or on our own. I would not recommend going there with 4 large dogs . Place to small and no garden also not great for late night wees
Shirley
We had an amazing holiday, small but cozy. Well equipped
Lisa
Hot tub nice selling feature but needs to be more private as situated at front of cottage with small fence on a busy road.
David
Cosy cottage and good location. Perfect for a couple and their dog.
Andrew
Lovely little cottage, thoroughly enjoyed my stay their with my wife and dog. The new bathroom is beautifully done. The bedroom upstairs very spacious and bed was comfortable. The road noise was loud at night when cars went past but that is very minor.
Raymond
Lovely well appointed little cottage. Set off a busy road which spoilt it for us.
Paul
Great week in the Peak District and this was a great cottage close to local facilities. It had everything you needed included a hot tub and open fire and it felt cosy and homely. Kitchen was well equipped and a great bathroom with huge shower.
Ian
I found my stay disappointing. In the 500 characters permitted, I cant explain the full experience- but will summarise. For many years I have been visiting family in the Peak District, staying in different cottages and locations each time. This is by no means a terrible cottage, but it is the worst that I have stayed in. It is tired, and in need of some love and repairs. Its overpriced for what it provides- do yourself a favour and find a better cottage for a cheaper price- plenty exist.
Nicholas
Beautiful, quaint cottage offering superb accommodation. Modern with everything you would expect. Shower fantastic. Bedroom a lovely size as is the bed which is extremely comfy. Hottub an added bonus especially after a long days walk. Would recommend this cottage.
Kathleen
A really lovely clean well kept cottage in a beautiful setting complete with hot tub which was enjoyable, plenty of walks from the doorstep plus a Co-op Supermarket and garage nearby, Matlock Bath and Matlock also Bakewell are really nice places to look around, would definitely recommend staying here
Joyce
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, cottage was lovely, traffic was quite heavy and the speed of cars was a cause for concern as we had our dog who reacts to motor cycles.
Louise
Lovely cottage, perfect for two.Huge bedroom with comfortable massive bed.The bedroom was one of the best features of the cottage.Downstairs bathroom but that was fine for us although shower height was too lowfor my husband.Great decor and clean.Guide said no dogs upstairs but needs a stair gate to prevent this.Provided towels were tiny, could barely wrap around body. Small courtyard front garden that had hot tub in, secure so dogs cannot escape.Great location.Stairs not great if mobility an issue
William
Very characterful cottage. Great shower & bedroom area. Location is great in a lovely village
Carol
A little gem, my daughter and I had a lovely break. Loved the hot tub, so relaxing.
Sarah
Lovely cottage, a bit small, but fine once you get used to layout, would of rathered bathroom upstairs which was plenty of room in bedroom for one! , very nervy coming down the stairs in night to use toilet as they are curved so some steps very narrow!! Garden extremely small ! So if you have a dog be mindful of that!
Chloe
Really enjoyable stay and everything you need! Very clean and a comfortable bed. The only issue we had was dogs were not allowed upstairs but only found that out when we arrived. There was also no stair gate to keep our dog downstairs easily. The stairs was also very steep and a little dangerous so had to watch our dog constantly which made it not very relaxing but we werent in the cottage each day for long so not too bad I guess. Apart from that though it was a lovely little cottage.
Sarah
Lovely cottage. Perfect for a couple who want a break away from the hustle and bustle of normal every day life. Clean and well equipped. We wanted for nothing. Thank you.
