An absolute gem of a find. If you have dogs and/or kids it would be hard to fine somewhere more ideal in this type of location. And for those without kids or dogs it is kept immaculately. My family, the dog and I have just returned from a week long easter break at Fern Gully. What a wonderful place it is. The position of it is what first strikes you - on arrival we were met with the quintessential rolling countryside views to the rear. Inside the cottage is extremely spacious and very clean and well equipped. Its like every little tRead morehing has been thought of from the welcome cream teas to the well stocked games room. Personal highlights for me were the log fire, the hot tub, the childrens book collection for bedtime stories and the overall attention to detail. I liked how the garden was fully enclosed so we could let the dog out and not have to worry. The all important internet for the kids games and Netflix was up to task. The owners popped by on the first morning to make sure everything was ok and they were really friendly. Overall the whole experience was super chilled and really like a home from home. If you are looking for a fun family day out with a difference then a visit to the Hedgehog Hospital is a great choice. While visiting the hospital children can learn about these shy wild animals and the dangers they face in the wild as well as how we can help them. The farm is a halfway house for sick hedgehogs and children can meet some of the animals that are almost ready to go back to the wild. The farm also has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a wildlife garden as well as a pet's area with Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.
