Tucked away in an enclosed and private part of a 300-acre country estate, this stylish shepherd’s hut and lodge makes a quirky getaway for couples or even just you and the dog! Made up of two buildings and a hot tub, as well as a wet room behind the lodge, it provides a little slice of heaven for guests who want to get away from the crowds with just the sounds of the countryside for company. You can’t beat sinking into the cosy bedroom of the shepherd’s hut, the wood burner on to keep toasty at night. While a rustic country feel dominates both the lodge and shepherd’s hut, the furnishings and appliances give a modern touch. Sit down for romantic dinners in the lodge, which has a contemporary kitchen area to cook all that local produce you have discovered on your days out. On cool nights, you can sit inside at the bench table to enjoy the fruits of your labour but during the warmer summer months, you can’t beat eating alfresco on the terrace and taking an impromptu dip in the hot tub under the Devon night sky. For evenings out, visit the idyllic Fisherman’s Cot at Bickleigh (2 miles) for dinner, or the charming town of Tiverton (5 miles) for a larger selection of restaurants. The cathedral city of Exeter is a 15-mile drive away and is a haven of historic attractions, including the Gothic cathedral, Royal Albert Memorial Museum and the medieval underground passages that run beneath the city. Dartmoor National Park is within 30 miles and offers excellent walking and cycling country.

The location is really beautiful! But beware as the country roads are very tedious (this is anywhere in Devon and Cornwall in general!). The Holly Pod is a fantastic little getaway. Very remote, it feels like youre in your own little space with the fields to yourself. The views are phenomenal and the property is situated in a secluded position giving an unbroken view of the night sky. As we were on holiday during the second heat wave, the pond at the bottom of the hill surrounded by trees was a godsend for us and the dog. The hot tub is of good quality and there are a couple of good pubs a short drive away.

Ve ry comfy bed and seating area. Scenery was awesome. Loved watching the Barn owl in the evening. Bottle of Prosecco welcome unexpected highly recommend
Rachel
We had a lovely stay at The Holly Pod. Everything was clean and as advertised. The only slight on our stay was the size of the lawn area at the front of the property. It was a lot smaller than it looked on the photos, but there was still room for the dogs to have a sniff around and didnt ruin our stay at all. The views more than made up for it,just spectacular. The shower was brilliant,if somewhat bijou. 2 towels were provided and also useful information packs. Pod was not overlooked at all
Yasmin
The Holly Pod is lovely and kitted out with everything you could need, the jacuzzi was always a lovely temperature, and the views were absolutely breathtaking! The owners are lovely and helpful too; upon seeing our two small dogs could fit through the gate to the property they immediately reinforced it so the whole garden was dog-proofed which was absolutely amazing! I would recommend staying here to everyone!
Paula
As advertised, very clean and tidy and enjoyed the setting, very quiet. Took our dog and he enjoyed it and safe for him to walk around in the garden. Would highly recommend if you want a break in a lovely countryside setting.
ROBERT
If you love peace and quiet and being away from the rat runs, you'll love it here. Load up your larder and fridge to avoid shopping trips down the beautiful narrow country lanes to distant supermarket and enjoy the tranquility of the pod and hot tub.
Anthony
Just a brilliant place very quiet and undisturbed hardly saw anyone else whilst there and the hot tub is just fantastic would thoroughly recommend this place
Mandy
Beautifully cosy had everything we needed to completely relax looking at the stunning views
Lea
My husband and I went and stayed at the Holly Pod for the week with our dog and we absolutely loved our stay! Not a single bad thing to say about it. The place was well kept, we had everything we needed and we was very lucky with the weather! The hot tub was always at a good temperature. The view was beautiful and we loved waking up every morning, sitting outside and watching the sun rise and staying out in the evening to watch the sun set. Completely isolated area, just what we wished for!
Heather
It must be good, this was our 3rd stay here and we have booked again. If you want to relax and recharge your batteries, this is the place. You will never tire of the view!!! You could not see another person all week if you wanted. Just Sit back in the hot tub and listen to the owls. Highly recommend the carvery at The fishermens cot!!!!!!
