Rayne Cottage Reviews

Marion
A lovely cottage. With lots of space. Big kitchen. Good size hottub. Very complete. During our stay we had some problems with the watersupply. Andy made sure it was not a huge issue. Supplied lots of water and a quick repair.
Patricia
Excellent location for access to places of interest. Clean cottage and very comfy beds. Would not rate 5 star nor luxury as the accommodation could do with some TLC and attention to the outside area.
Amanda
This is a gorgeous property in a lovely location with all the equipment you would need for a lovely stay - a real home away from home. Underfloor heating on the ground floor bedrooms is lovely. Its so nice to see the animals around the property & a lovely view. Will definitely be back to explore the area more.
Sara
Comfortable, well equipped cottage. Some issues with level of cleaning. My husband who has asthma struggled with his chest because lots of dust in bedroom and no mattress protector on bed. Quite a remote area and we found it quite difficult to find good dog walking areas and nice local pubs to eat which were dog friendly. Perhaps we were just unlucRead moreky! Hide

a lovely cottage in a great location. The first floor open living space and furniture is great.
Andrew
beautiful cottage , excellent surroundings , if you need to shop , kendall is best 12 miles away , the views are lovely , the cottage warm and cosy with all the facilities you need , hot tub is a bonus as was the bbq outside , loads of parking space , easy for dogs , drive entrance is a little challenging for low fronted cars but it is better from the opposite direction lovely walks all around and peace , will return again and highly recommend a stay there
DAVID
Great hosts. Wonderful location. We'll equipped house. Comfortable. Easy access to The Lakes and the North Yorkshire Dale's. Quiet and peaceful.
Nicholas
Very nice cottage with great views. The outside hot tub is really nice. Well positioned for the views. The cottage itself felt very homely and had pretty much everything we needed for our stay.
Colin
Beautiful Location! Lovely cottage. The hot tub in the garden house was broken but happy a spare was on site! Thank you.
Lesley
Great place to stay. Only thing we could say a little TLC would go a long way
Ashley
We stayed here the first weekend in December. The house was nothing but perfect for us. Everything was beautifully clean and well cared for - you can tell when a lot of thought has gone into things in a holiday home. Flip flops and bathrobes were provided for the tiny walk to the hot tub (which was the perfect temperature), and the bedrooms were sp otless. Kitchen well equipped, and v clean and with super- comfy sofas in the living room we felt very well taken care of. View is wonderful!!
Sandra
The cottage is in a good location with easy access to main road. We bought bottled water as the water there wasn't very nice. The equipment in the kitchen was well used and needed cleaning or renewing. The bedrooms are downstairs so any movement in lounge or kitchen is heard, the wooden floors creaking. The only toilets are in the bedrooms making i t difficult if someone's asleep.
Maureen
The cottage completely met our expectations for comfort and location. Whether you wished to visit the lakes or the dales, location couldnt be better. So nice to find somewhere to stay who would accept more than 2 dogs. Definitely recommend.
Andrew
Good property. Not very private garden as shared with neighbours. Poor access for low/ sports vehicles. Andy next door very helpful with a few minor issues Nice clean cottage.
Anna
Comfortable cottage in a good location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. Beds very comfortable. Lacks a secure space to allow dogs off lead whilst sitting on patio.
Tracy
Absolutely stunning views great cosy cottage well equipped
Matia
Beautiful cottage. Well equipped and lovely views. Well situated for exploring the dales and the lakes.
Paul
Cottage in beautiful location with outstanding views. However, some attention to improved cleaning should be made to the showers and toilet areas of the en-suite facilities. Kitchen sink was cleaned by ourselves as it had obviously not been done. The Freezer shelves were covered in old food crumbs and was iced up. We had to clean a shelf for our fr ozen food. References made in the guest information booklet to other information sources in the property could not be found, presumably missing.
Peter
We loved our stay at Rayne Cottage. We booked it over a year ago and we were counting down the days hoping it would be as good as it looked and it didnt disappoint. From the location to the spectacular views to the friendly owners it was everything we wanted and more. We were invited to help feed the animals in the farm and we all loved it. Plenty of picturesque walks and places to go within a short distance. Would recommend to anyone. Definitely want to go again.
Karen
Amazing views. Comfortable sofas and beds. Upgrading needed on several things. Drive quite steep driveway, especially if you have a low car.
Paul
Fantastic cottage to use as a base for exploring Cumbria and North Yorkshire. The cottage is comfortable and homely. The hot tub was great to relax in after a day out walking and sightseeing. The viaduct walks and poetry walk at Kirkby Stephen were lovely. Kendal is a great place for shopping.
Sanjit
The cottage was amazing, nothing I would change really, comfortable, clean, amazing location, peaceful. Shops a drive away but no big deal. Beautiful drives out to locations and landmarks
Jane
Great location. Lovely bed. Had wonderful sleeps. Only countryside noise. Didnt want to leave.
Esther
Had a wonderful relaxing week with our three dogs. The cottage is perfect for humans and pooches. We drove to Kendall for the weekly shop whilst we were there as there is a large fridge freezer at the cottage. The beds are comfy we moved to the smaller room during the week so we tested both beds! The views from the cottage are stunning, you can wat ch the sunrise and set, watch the sheep in the field opposite. The hot tub was an added bonus and we used it every day!
Lisa
Peaceful location with stunning views. Very cozy and comfortable. The hot tub is wonderful. There could be greater attention to detail with cleaning, and some of the kitchen equipment has seen better days. Despite this, I would return, as there are more plus points.
Jayne
Had an amazing time, the view is perfect in the day and the stars at night are magical. The alpacas across the road were a great surprise.
jamie
Beautiful location and very easy access to M6. Lots of nearby walks within a mile of the cottage. The spa is an added bonus.
Paul
Its a beautiful cottage and we had a lovely stay. The bedroom was very comfortable and the hot tub was superb. Stunning views of the surrounding area and some lovely touches in the decor and living spaces.
Natasha
Thank you for such a beautiful mini-break at Raynes Cottage. What a beautiful house in a stunning location. We had everything we could have needed and more! Very clean and tidy, with lots of little extras to make us feel at home at Christmas time. Warm, cosy and with beautiful views. We had a simply wonderful stay and our dogs loved the heated floo r and treats! The hot tub was a real treat and a perfect way to relax and unwind. We would thoroughly recommend
Mandy
Lovely place to stay, great walks with the dogs
Ian
Beautiful location in the Dales, the views are amazing even from the hot tub. Comfortable sofas for relaxing just needs the added bonus of a SMART TV as a finishing touch. Loved watching the Alpacas across the road. Walks in the area are numerous and excellent for 4 legged friends too.
Claire
This property is a ideal place for getting away from it all , great for walking and then relaxing in the hot tub. Nice pubs and amenities in the area but car required. The house is very comfortable and well equipped and dog friendly.
Helen
The cottage is warm and comfortable with fantastic views. It is ideally situated for either local walks or those who want to go further afield. There are some great takeaways in Kirkby Stephen or a superb Pub - The Black Bull - if you do not want to cook! The Hot tub is great too - and really great to relax in after those long walks - if you just w ant to relax.
