We really enjoyed our stay here! The cottage feels super private and cosy, away from the busy farm, so it’s like having your own little retreat. The kitchen had everything we neededand the hot tub was just as lovely as everyone says. There’s plenty to do for kids indoors on rainy days too. Helen and Alex were really friendly and helpful. Just a tip-give yourself enough time to explore the nearby beaches and walking trails, they’re worth it!

We had a lovely stay here! The area is really prettyand the house felt spacious inside and out. The vibe was really warm and welcoming. The hot tub was amazingand we loved being so close to the farm animals. The hosts were super friendly, giving us a tour and letting us meet the animals up close. Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely week at this charming cottage. It’s super peaceful and perfect for relaxing, especially with the hot tub which heats up quickly and is really easy to operate. The big garden was ideal for our dogs-they had a great time too! The place is well-stocked, with plenty of towels and cosy blankets, which was a nice touch. Just a heads up, bring enough food and drinks if you don’t want to travel far for supplies. The view in Port William is great for grabbing snacks, coffeeand tasty cakes, plus there’s a local Spar. For more shopping options, it’s about a 10-mile drive. We’d definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was super comfortable and well equippedand the garden was perfect for our dog to run around freely. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, much appreciated. It’s in a great spot for exploring the area too. The only minor downside was the lack of a washing machine, but we knew that beforehand since there's simply no space for one. We didn’t use the hot tub, but everything else we needed was there. Will return!

This place is just what we needed-a peaceful retreat with a gorgeous garden and a super clean interior. Everything was thought ofand the welcome pack was a nice surprise. We mostly relaxed outside because the weather was great. The beach is only five minutes away, making it a truly lovely holiday spot. We had a wonderful time!

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage. The location is fantasticand it’s clear the owners thought of everything to make our visit comfortable. It’s warm and cosy, perfect for relaxing. My mum, who’s disabled after a stroke, found it super accessible - the sturdy handrails and great shower made all the difference. We’re even thinking about installing a similar shower at home! Thanks for a lovely stay!
Emma

We had a lovely stay at this peaceful rural cottage. It’s a perfect spot to explore the Machars area. The house is spacious, well-decoratedand feels really welcoming. Our hosts left us a sweet welcome basket, which was a nice touchand they checked in to make sure we were alright. The place is all on one level with a level access shower, though there are a couple of steps at the entrance with sturdy hand rails for safety. We’d definitely stay again!

We had such a lovely stay! The hosts were genuinely welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble. The cottage was spotless with cute little touches like games and colouring for the kids, which they loved. The garden was a good size and could be enclosed if needed-perfect for families. Our 5-year-old’s favourite was definitely the hot tub! It’s quite remote, so peaceful, but all the essentials were just a short drive away. The beaches nearby are stunning. We’ll definitely return for another relaxing break!
Emma

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
