The Bothy and the hosts were really lovely. The cottage is spotless, well equipped, comfy bed, beautiful view, and large hot tub. What more could you ask for. One of our wee dogs had just had a cruciate leg repair and so we could only do 5 min walks, but we still managed short walks around the large and beautiful and well kept grounds. We have enjoyed many hot breaks over the years but this is the 1st time we've returned to one and we will be back. It was our home from home, comfy, cosy, peaceful & quiet. It's handy for exploring the surrounding area too with shops, places to eat, points of interest, etc. The hot tub is sheltered private & well placed for star gazing (if the clouRead moreds allow). The owners are lovely & on hand if you need anything but otherwise do not intrude on your break. We look forward to our next break. Hide

We loved this bothy . It was in a beautiful area with lots of places to visit especially in the great outdoors. The Bothy was lovely very comfortable clean & everything you need to relax including a lovely hot tub with fantastic views.
Stuart
This cottage is exactly what the advert says, clean, well equipped and just a perfect get away.
Gill
This is a lovely comfortable property. The bed is one of the most comfortable Ive ever slept in; excellent heating and reclining sofa. Its a very rural area which means lovely open landscape and pretty views, but no pubs/restaurants/shops nearby (not much effort to go to Moffat for those). We visited in March and were disappointed that many local b uildings/spaces we hoped to visit were closed. Autumn/winter stays will need to be for outdoor activities or relaxation rather than visiting.
James
A tidy bothy and a clean and enjoyable hot tub.
Margaret
Excellent, the bothy was exceptional away above our expectations. Excellent value for money, the owners Richard and Joanne and their grandson Jason are just the nicest most helpful and friendliest people you could hope to meet. The welcome basket with the fresh eggs and the lemon drizzle cake was to die for. Nothing was to much trouble for them and we will definitely be returning and their 2 fur babies are darlings as well.
Emily
Amazing little cottage, beautiful and relaxing to say the least. Highly recommend
Michelle

Amazingly located with plenty of local walks and both forest of Ae and Mabie on the doorstep for great MTB trails. Great for nature lovers as there is plenty of wildlife around and we g ot some fantastic views of the night sky so defo a good location for star gazing. The hosts were lovely and very welcoming, we can't wait to go back!
Ian
The Bothy is a wonderful property. Set in spacious grounds it is decorated & fitted to a high standard. All appliances are of a high standard & the furnishings are all most comfortable. The hot tub is a lovely added bonus where you can relax and check out a rather magnificent view. Theres plenty of good walking nearby.
Helen
Really clean and comfortable. Hot tub kept impeccable and a fantastic asset....even in the rain! Bothy much bigger than it looks in photos. Very dog friendly with loads of room for them to let off steam. Very friendly owners.
Pam

The cottage was lovely. It had everything you needed. Very clean and comfortable. Nice welcome pack. Nothing too much trouble for the hosts. We were given free range farm eggs from the hens, homemade lemon drizzle cake on arrival, wood for the fire and a torch to guide us out to the amazing hot tub. Robes and slippers supplied. Our dogs loved all t he walks and we loved the dog friendly pubs and cafes in the area. Definitely recommend. Thank you.
Angus
Was nice and comfy and was large enough the log fire was a nice touch
Robert
Nice quite place with great walks for our dog. Good to be able to relax and get away from it all for the week.
Alison
The bothy is a lovely place to stay . I usually choose a place where dogs are not allowed but the Bothy was very clean and pets being there before wasnt an issue here. The hot tub is very private with a great view and if you like star gazing then its perfect even in winter. If youre reading reviews about lovely cakes as I was then you need to under stand that this isnt a regular thing that happens every stay the owners work and do not have time to do this for everyone. Lovely retreat
Naomi
Absolutely amazing property. Extremely clean, perfect location to get to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. The hot tub was fantastic, everything you could need is there. I would 100% recommend this property. The owners are on site but left you to your own devices and were available if needed.
Anne
Had a lovely relaxing week staying at "The Bothy". Spotlessly clean and everything that you would require was provided for.
Christine
Fantastic cottage for a relaxing break. Richard and Joanne are the perfect hosts: would definitely recommend. Fresh eggs and home baking.
