We had a lovely stay at this lodge! The setting is peaceful, with stunning views and only a handful of lodges around, so it felt really private. The arrival pack was a nice touch-wine, chocolates, dog treats-and the hot tub was spotless and cosy. Everything we needed was nearbyand we’ve already booked for next year. Highly recommend!

We had such a lovely stay here! The circular walks were perfect for our spanieland it was a relief to know he was safe inside the property. The hot tub was fantastic, offering stunning views over the Solway Firth and the surrounding countryside - we couldn’t get enough of it. We also spotted some Ospreys, which was a real bonus. Nearby Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet are charming, but honestly, we just enjoyed relaxing locally and strolling to the little shop in Auchencairn. Great spot!

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
