The detached property sits within the gorgeous grounds of the owner’s home, with sweeping views of the River Torridge, the little white town of Bideford and the Tarka Trail, all from the privacy of your own hot tub. Sleeping four, it’s great for couples, families or a group getaway, with walking, cycling and water sports all available in the vicinity. The property, accessed via a separate driveway, opens into an entrance hall which leads into a lounge/kitchen/diner area. The lovely living space has a vaulted ceiling and extensive river views across the valley to the hills beyond, along with a wood burner, comfortable seating and Smart TV with all mod cons, including Netflix. Bi-fold doors lead out to an enclosed, private patio and lawned area, where you’ll find garden furniture, fire pit/BBQ/pizza oven and a private hot tub with stunning views of the surrounding area. The bedrooms, one king-size with en-suite and one twin zip-and-link (which can be made into a super-king on request), are found on the ground floor, while upstairs you’ll find a relaxing mezzanine area, with games and books. Found on the outskirts of Bideford, you’ll find plenty to do in this lively North Devon location. Enjoy a walk or a bike ride along the Tarka Trail, accessible from Bideford with routes either towards Torrington or Barnstaple, or head the 4 miles to Westward Ho! for fantastic surf - there are surf schools should you need a lesson or two! Gaze out across the river from this splendid holiday home in Bideford, Devon. Sleeping up to 16 guests, plus two dogs, the seven-bedroom property is ideal for three or four families together. Enjoy it as a base from which to explore the pretty town and its surroundings, including charming Appledore, 3 miles away, and the beach at Westward Ho! the same distance. Return home to bubble in the hot tub, play tournaments in the two games rooms and take in the magnificent outlook. Wander in to find elegant accommodation and modern day comfort. Prepare meals in the kitchen/diner, then gather round the table in the dining room for lively dinners. Take a cup of tea into the conservatory or a glass of wine into the lounge, where you can watch the Smart TV together. Also at this level, you’ll find a utility room, cloakroom and WC, plus a double bedroom, with en-suite wet room, which can be arranged as a twin in advance. A triple room, with three singles; two super-king-size rooms that share a Jack and Jill bathroom with free-standing bath, and a twin room, are all on the floor above. There is also a bathroom on this level. Wander up to the next floor, which can be self-contained, to find another bedroom with three singles, plus a double. The games room, another kitchen and a bathroom are also up here. Spill out into the garden to light the BBQ, fire up the hot tub and soak up the scenery. Within easy reach of the Tarka Trail, this bright and sympathetically updated retreat has been decorated in warm, relaxing shades and furnished in a chic, tasteful style, and features a delightful hot tub, a freestanding roll-top bath, a well-stocked games room and a stunning raised terrace overlooking the estuary. Lying behind electric gates, the house is at the top of the drive and is surrounded by beautiful grounds. Stepping inside the property, the welcoming entrance hall leads through to the pretty lounge which offers stunning estuary views and an elegant dining table perfect for enjoying family feasts. This floor also has a charming snug with a Smart TV and wood burner, as well as a boot room, utility room and a beautifully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and Smart TV. Beautiful home, very well equipped and perfect for the bigger family, not good if you have mobility issues though as no WC upstairs, our fault for not reading properly though. Very generous welcome hamper & generally the place is very nice, recliners, lovely kitchen, huge windows. Nice spot with a sense of space and peace. The building is very well finished and is really comfortable. It is fully fenced, so your kids and dog can't wander into the road. As others have said, the hot tub is great, I would add that the beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are particularly nice for a holiday let.

What a lovely house. Everything you need and more. Great place to stay as it's out of the way so it's really quiet but you dont have to travel far for things to do. The open plan top floor is lovely as you can be apart of the conversation what ever you going and as a family staying here thats great and to top it all off there was a lovely hamper wi th wine , chocolate, crisps and much more. We were over the moon with our stay. The house was amazing with no expense spared in the fit out and a nice quiet location. The hot tub was the best Ive been in and we made good use of the BBQ and the fire pit in the evenings. North Devon Farm Park is a haven for wildlife and has a fantastic location making it the perfect place for a day out during the summertime. As well as gorgeous scenery, picnic areas and plenty of space for children to play the park offers a Play Area, Tea Room serving local produce, a Petting Zoo where little ones will love meeting the affectionate animals and Nature tTails. There is also a Play Area.
Exmoor Zoo - EX31 4SG

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.

Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park  is a big hit with families and has a wonderful setting within 26 acres of Sub Tropical grounds. During a stroll around the site you will encounter so of the worlds most endangered animals and also take a peek back to prehistoric times when Dinosaurs roamed the earth.
