Phoenix Cottage Reviews

A very cosy well equipped cottage. We were grateful, after a long journey, for the personal welcome from Maureen. The ev charging point worked well which was crucial for us. Although this is a dog friendly cottage, there was no evidence of previous dog occupancy. Everything was immaculate.
Peaceful location. Great property for dog owners. Hot tub added attraction.Ideally situated for our needs. Pleasant and obliging owners. Any minor issues soon rectified Hope to return.
Alan Leslie
Lovely lady owner were hospitality us as feel warm welcome and everything what we need for cottage facilities there. Hopefully back soon.
Myself, my new Husband and our dog Harvey had a fantastic stay at Phoenix Cottage on our first trip to Cornwall for our Minimoon. We mainly booked this cottage for both how super dog friendly the cottage is based on previous reviews and also as a convenient base location as we preplanned to visit many places such as St Ives, Land's End and Penzance. We weren't let down and we had a wonderful time. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Maureen where she showed us around the cottage and provided us with important info and recommendations on where to visit with the dog during our stay. Maureen and John had decorated the cottage with 'just married' dcor, a card and a bottle of wine prior to our arrival which were a lovely surprise. We also had cream tea waiting for us which was a lovely thoughtful touch, and so we kept the cream tea tradition going most mornings for our al fresco breakfast. We had everything we needed and more at the cottage. We particularly enjoyed the ample outside space for the dog which comprised of an enclosed outdoors space and an additional enclosed hottub area joined onto the cottage, a large enclosed garden a few steps away and a larger field next to it. Inside we benefitted from many amenities including a fan in our bedroom, a lovely large mirror in the bathroom, the super soft bathrobes, and a decent TV in the sitting room which we used to watch many episodes of The Office US between our adventures and to look through our wedding photos on our first night. Both ourselves and the dog were well catered for and the cottage was spotless. This was our first ever stay at a cottage as we usually go for log cabins, and we hit jackpot. Thanks Maureen and John for a beautiful Minimoon!
We were very impressed with the cottage, the information that we had prior to our visit and the folder in the cottage. We couldn't fault the effort and attention to detail that Maureen had gone to. It was a lovely, comfortable and peaceful cottage, and suited us perfectly. We will be back and would highly recommend it. Thanks very much, Maureen.
We had a lovely time and loved the cottage. We would suggest to reduce the amount of accessories, but perhaps that is a matter of taste. We absolutely loved the hottub but for our dog the separate field was not a succes. All and all we enjoyed our stay very much.
Phoenix Cottage is a lovely property to stay. Quite, private location and easy access to most of Cornwall. Everything is catered for in the property and there was nothing we required that wasn't there. Exceptionally clean and we were made to feel welcome and at home from the very start. We felt nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything, which we didn't as it was already there. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable stay. We will definitely return on our next holiday.
Great location for exploring. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, private and peaceful. Would highly recommend, very dog friendly. This was our second stay and will definitely stay again.
Barbara
Great place to stay, everything you could possibly need and Maureen and John made my stay complete so helpful. Will not hesitate to visit again.
Denise
Lovely cottage, chilled out, restful, just what I needed. Louis my Chihuahua dealt to one of the dog toys, we replaced it with a squeaky banana! Would have been nice to have a shelter over the spa for rainy or cold days, but totally enjoyable nevertheless! Thank you xx
Stacey
Please note we were very kindly upgraded to Omalast cottage, so anything specifically mentioned about the cottage is that one, but I would say that any of the cottages would be a dream to stay in. We had the best week ever over new years at Nantrisack holiday cottages, Maureen is amazing, super friendly, welcoming, really kind. Our cottage was incredibly well equipped and truly dog friendly. It felt like a home away from home and we couldnt have asked for anything more, the hot tub, the furnishings, the doggy treats and toys, the cheeseboard and port. It is the best cottage we have ever stayed in through Sykes and we will definitely be back. Thank you Maureen for making our start to 2024 so brilliant!
Great property with everything needed for a couple with dogs. Very well maintained and well equipped and the owner was on site and very helpful and friendly.
William
Had a fantastic stay at Phoenix cottage. We were greeted by Maureen on arrival and she was friendly and helpful with the local area. The cottage itself was super clean and comfortable. The hound was well catered for with treats on arrival with plenty of running space on site. Overall a fantastic stay. We look forward to returning for another break.

The holiday was great lovely place peaceful couldn't be better facilities everything you need hot tub great pasties we're fabulous thank you very much Chris gill.
Great place to stay. Loved it. Ideal for a couple and a dog . Hot tub was well used and a great assett. Plenty of towels both for adults and dogs! Nice clean cottage to stay which was central for lots of Cornwall's attractions. Everything we needed was supplied from milk to cleaning clothes and bin bags. We loved the organised recycling, so many places we've stayed don't address this, its like its too much bother for them but not here! Owner was very understanding when our dog was poorly.
Jennifer
We have had a very good week in Phoenix cottage. The balcony is much bigger than on the photos and you also have a lovely garden a few steps away from the cottage. This garden also leads into the fields that you are able to let your dog have a good run around and is all very secure. Albert our dog has had a wonderful time. The cottage is perfect and very comfortable and spotless. Maureen and John are very helpful and super friendly. There local knowledge of places to visit is such a help. Would not hesitate to book any of the six cottages they are all dog friendly and look amazing. Its lovely to stay somewhere with our dog that is so well kept and everything is thought out so well so we all get the holiday we should have . Thank you both we will return. Jennifer , Peter and Albert.

A delightful stay in the Nantrisack, Phoenix Cottage. In the surrounding charming idyllic Cornish countryside with a relaxing hot tub and lots of home comforts to help unwind. Perfect for dogs to also enjoy with a secure garden and lots of open spaces. A kind welcome on arrival from Maureen with lots of helpful advice on the area. A special touch with the options of a Cornish cream tea or Cornish pasties are facilitated if you so wish.

Had a fantastic holiday at Phoenix cottage. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. Maureen and John our hosts were very welcoming. Loved the hot tub and our dog loved the 3 fields she had to run around in. I would definitely recommend staying here!!
Maureenproperty owner goes above and beyond to make sure you have a fantastic holiday. I was really impressed with the little touches, from toiletries to chocolates and wine, dog treat bags and the beautiful cornish pasties. Fantastic base only 15 to 20 minutes drive to beaches and shops. The cottages and the surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful. After a day at the beach and walking the dogs, there is nothing nicer than going back to the cottage and relaxing in the hot tub. Will definitely be returning sooner rather than later. Maureen is a marvel. She is friendly and makes you feel so welcome. The cottages are a credit to her and you want for nothing. Full relaxation, peace and quiet. Surrounded by nature with the grounds full of bloom. I sat on my veranda just watching the birds, bees and butterflys. Simply heaven for us. We will return.
We did not stay in Phoenix cottage in the end, Maureen upgraded us to Demelza as the hot tub was not working in Phoenix , Demelza is a fabulous 2 bedroom cottage with a large garden for dogs, it was very clean and was full of home comforts, dogs looked after aswell with toys and treats. would definitely stay again
Gerald
The property was clean throughout and has everything you needed and more. Our host Maureen was very helpful and friendly and couldnt do enough for us. Will definitely be staying in one of her cottages again.
Adrian
Everything about our stay at Phoenix cottage was excellent. Maureen was an incredible host and we would highly recommend staying in any of the Nantrisack cottages.

Fantastic cottage and great for the dog! The host was great and very welcoming
Thomas
This was a very high quality stay, extra items available. Comfortable bed, very friendly and helpful host. We would have loved an area to bbq in though. Our dogs due to illness, did not join though, they would have found it too hot anyway.
Had the best time ever, this place is magical! In a beautiful setting on the owners land. The owners are very welcoming and so friendly. Amazing place!
Fantastic lodge and very friendly helpful owner.
I dont really know where to begin . ... what an absolutely fabulous place. Having been provided with some directions as the sat nav doesnt take you to the right place, we arrived and were immediately met by the owner whom called in to say a very friendly hello and ensured we had what we needed and made sure we knew to contact her if we needed anything. She showed us our own garden and also the huge field through the garden which was for the dog to play in! This really was doggy paradise. To say they are welcoming of dogs is an understatement. Inside the spotless property it was kitted out to a high standard and was so very inviting. There was even a chest of goodies toys treats poo bags for the dog! The rooms are large, airy and fresh and the property contains everything you could possibly need for your stay. The hot tub was well used by us too a lovely way to round off the days. The property is one of six on the owners land with each one being fully self contained with its own garden etc. I seriously cannot explain how amazing this place is other than to say its well situated far enough from beaches to not be caught in the mad traffic which I assume hits Cornwall in the summer, but close enough to have everything you need to access on your doorstep beaches are a short drive, but the tranquility of this property was ideal for our needs. Suffice to say I will be back to either this property or one of the others on this site in the future. Its the nicest self contained place Ive ever stayed and the owners are amazing.
We had a wonderful stay at Phoenix Cottage last week. We were very grateful that restrictions lifted in time that we could keep our booking. The cottage is gorgeous the photos just dont do it justice. Theres so much space and it is kitted out with everything you could possibly want or need. The hot tub is wonderful any time of day and is always kept at the perfect temperature so theres no waiting. LED lights out by the hot tub make for a lovely evening dip too. Maureen was so helpful in providing instructions for teaching the property and was available on a mobile number throughout our stay. As we left we were already eyeing up the larger cottages to return with friends at some point. Thank you for a restful break in a great cottage. P.S. the take away fish and chip shop in the next village is the best Ive ever tasted Kelhams? Book online to avoid disappointment though!
Peacefulness
Fantastic holiday enjoyed by all would stay again
Thomas
Brilliant location, within an hours drive of all the popular locations. Lovely little cottage, perfect size for the 2 of us and lots of brilliant items in case you were to bring your dogs! Maureen and John were very pleasant to talk to and were quick to accommodate us with any requests we had. Would strongly recommend this holiday.
Lovely cottage in beautiful location and a great base to explore Cornwall. Wine, chocolates Milk and cream tea left for us on arrival. Maureen Is a great host even gave us pillows for Minack Theatre! We will definitely return!
Our 3rd visit to the Cottage & it was as we expected. Maureen met us with the a friendly greeting together with a cream tea & a bottle of wine. She & her Husband John are top notch owners
Brilliant that dogs were allowed on living room furniture. As we have a blind dog, we were able to put her blanket on the sofa and allow her to get comfortable. The cottage was lovely and homely, facilities were great. And it is perfectly placed in Cornwall to allow good access to everywhere. Would highly reccomend!
