The Pines Reviews

Ian
The property is excellent and exceeded our expectations , it was hired for a family mini holiday to celebrate an 80th birthday and a great time was had by every one there. Warm, welcoming and comfortable the only thing missing was better weather to enjoy the outdoor seating and garden areas.
Julie
After several emails and phone calls to your company throughout the week regarding our dissatisfactory stay at The Pines, I am emailing to make a formal complaint with the issues we experienced and the lack of resolution. I would like to mention that the bedding and towels were lovely, and we had plenty of hot water throughout the stay. CleRead moreaning - Poor cleaning throughout the property including dust and cobwebs, finding a pizza in the microwave on arrival, old/used coffee pods in the machine. Hot tub - information booklet states the hot tub should be cleaned x3/week. It was not cleaned during our stay. This is a significant health issue, and we now worry the hot tub was not cleaned prior to our stay between guests. Coffee machine - this broke towards the start of our stay and tripped a fuse. We were advised by the company to stand on a plastic bar stool to switch the trip back on. This is an entirely inappropriate suggestion, not knowing the make up or abilities of our group and not taking into account our health and safety. No coffee pods were provided as per the Information booklet. We did eventually receive a new coffee machine, however this was also faulty and leaked water. Dishwasher - this broke towards the start of our stay and was not fixed. Only x2 tea towels and a bathroom hand towel were provided by housekeeping at the start of the stay, and we only received additional materials to wash up with on Thursday after having to request these. We have spent countless hours of our holiday washing up, for 8 people minimum x3 per day. Fridge - faulty, freezing our food despite being at reasonable temperature. This is a food safety issue and subsequently we had to throw food away, we expect the approx cost of this to be at least 200 across the week - including raw and cooked meats, fish, cheeses, dips, milk, fruit/veg, yoghurts etc. A maintenance company attended on Thursday, the issue was not fixed. Games room - no heating, and therefore not usable at certain times of the day due to being so cold. We did not accept the box of chocolates sent by the company, as we quite frankly found this offensive given the amount of issues and lack of resolution we experienced. We have holidayed in self catering properties for many years, and unfortunately this experience has been very disappointing. Hide

A really beautiful house with wonderful decor and plenty of space. Good location for exploring the Gower. we went as a group of four couples and it was easily able to manage that number. We also did our own catering and it was really well equipped to allow you to cook well. We had some plumbing issues over our stay, hopefully these have been rectRead moreified. Hide

This was a lovely spacious house to stay in for us, 6 adults and 4 children. It was well located and ample car parking.
Hannah
Beautiful property with stunning grounds, perfect for the children to play in. Loved the snooker room and hot tub. Nice comfy beds, beautiful lounge to chill in the evenings and lovely big kitchen. Will come back, thank you!
Clair
We had a lovely stay at The Pines as part of some 80th birthday celebrations for my Dad. Such a beautiful house and gardens, so much space and very peaceful. A short drive from so many lovely places to visit too. Very relaxing and comfortable, would love to come back. Thanks for a great holiday venue.
Douglas
Lovely house and fantastic garden. We had a great week.
Richard

Gillian

Louise
WOW Factor The Pines was hired for a family get together , celebrate a birthday. I spent months looking for the right holiday home. We found it at The Pines Plenty of space, hot tub, pool room and many more character rooms. I wish now we had booked for a longer holiday since it felt like home from home. Fabulous
John
Wonderful house very well equipped. Son who is a chef was impressed with the kitchen equipment. Beds beautifully comfortable and so were all the lounge seats. Loads of outdoor furniture. Beautiful hot tub, well laid out garden. Snooker table room superb!
Katharine
Huge luxurious property with everything you could wish for. Hot tub and snooker room were in use everyday and the garden is perfect for hide and seek. We loved it!
Denise
The Pines was very comfortable and spacious. The garden was huge which was great for the dog. Hot tub was amazing. Snooker table was fun but could do with some new snooker cues as they were all broken. Cleanliness was average and towels were all worn out. Had a good time in wales with plenty of walking.
Hannah
Could have more toiletries/kitchen essentials at the property e.g. salt, oil
Mark
The Pines is a lovely property but we were let down by a few issues. For the first 36 hours the lights in the game room /shower wouldn't work as the trip had gone, there were no basic essentials for the first night such as dishwasher tablets, no first aid kit that we could find to dress a cup. A drawer in the kitchen was broken, the alarm went off Read moreand when we tried to call the management company, the line was dead. Perhaps the worst issue was the lack of hot water which made using the bath impossible and made doing dishes a chore by having to boil the kettle. Cobwebs in corners, cheap toilet roll, insufficient towels. Hide

The house was large and had plenty of space for all ages in our group. It was close to all the beaches in the Gower area and easily accessible.
