Ty'r Ysgol Reviews

Weve enjoyed our 3rd stay in this beautiful cottage. Its warm, spacious and ideally placed to explore the area. It was unfortunate that there were a couple of plumbing problems during our stay but the owners were brilliant at communicating and trying to get the situation resolved nothing serious enough to spoil our lovely week.
Hayley
Our Christmas stay at this cottage was prefect everything about it was lovely

The property is a lovely house but there are a few maintenance issues. The plug in the upstairs bathroom sink could not be released easily. I ran a bath and went back up to get in it and the water had drained out even though the plug was in properly. The hot water upstairs was not very hot and the central heating did not work properly which I reported to the owner, thankfully there was log burners to compensate for the lack of heating. Although the hot tub was new we found it to be dirty. The shower head was leaking. The property did not appear to have been cleaned properly as there was cobwebs on the lamps. We are not really complainers and love the house as we have stayed her many times this being our 9th time but just feel the all round maintenance has slipped a bit. We paid a lot of money in the current climate for our 7 night stay

We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday at Ty'r Ysgol. The property felt like a real home from home. We used the hot tub in the dark evenings which was lovely after a day's walking. The heated front porch was a great place to dry outdoor clothing. We will definitely be back!!!
Stuart
Great base to explore the area, extremely happy with our accommodation.
Fantastic house, with everything you could need. Garden secure for dogs and the local facilities are all just a short stroll away.
Beautiful place to stay. The owner was so helpful with ideas for days out, restaurants and dog walks. Would definitely go back. Lovely walk to a wonderful beach with lots of water pools when the tide went out which is ideal for small children. Short drive into Porthmadog to a local supermarket and a very tasty fish and chop shop.

The cottage was perfect in terms of its size, level of appointment and location. This was the first time we had been together as a family since Christmas and everyone loved it. Particular thanks to the owners who promptly responded to our queries
Well situated within a 10 minute stroll to the lovely dog friendly beach. We met the cleaners on our arrival purely due to the fact the previous inconsiderate occupants hadnt vacated until 12.30pm!!! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay especially with the added benefit of the hot tub for pure relaxation. The garden is totally dog safe which was a bonus. The WiFi was brilliant and we were able to stream Netflix with no problems. Very peaceful with the occasional golfer on the course behind the house.
We had an amazing stay at Ty Ysgol, the house was cosy with lots of welcoming features. We love the hot tub and we like that we could go walking to local pubs and shops as well as the beach. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Absolutely stunning property cleaned to perfection and everything you would EVER need to hand. I've never been in a self catering home with so many kitchen utensils, condiments and extras before! I can assure you if you have forgotten something they will have it this place had much more than my home!!! My daughters loved the toys, games and hot tub which backs onto the golf course with sheep running around freely! The property is not overlooked at all as it has trees surrounding it, golfers are few and far between and the community hall next door wasn't open. The dogs loved the garden and we loved how enclosed it was including the drive way so the dogs could be let in and out of the car without worrying about the road. Such a quiet, relaxing and comfortable place, perfect for our family to explore Snowdonia and Anglesey. We did walk into Porthmadog and took the circular route which wasn't ideal for pushchairs but a beautiful walk nonetheless. Black Rock sands down the road perfect for all the family. Owners were on hand when we had a query later on the week and they were so lovely and accommodating. I would highly recommend this wonderful property to anyone and would love to come back and stay again!
Our second visit to Ty'r Ysgol and already booked for next year! We absolutely love the houseit is warm, spacious and has everything you need and more. The hot tub is fantastic at this time of year nothing better than a long wintery walk on the beach then back to relax in it! The area has so much to offer. Overall a wonderful holiday thank you
Tyr Ysgol is a lovely cottage, in a great quiet location but only a few mins away from all the amenities you could ever want. The garden is fully enclosed and secure. The parking as good. The cottage is warm and comfortable with plenty of space. The downstairs shower room is perfect for when you use the hot tub, which is in a great place for stargazing. The whole cottage was spotlessly clean and its maintained very well. The sofas are a little soft and the kitchen could do with a better set of kitchen knives, but thats pretty close to perfect. We loved our stay and hope to return next year.
Nicola
Spent a lovely Christmas at this well presented property. With the beach a short walk away and shops and other sights nearby it was ideal for us. I must mention that the pictures on site do not do the property credit as it is much larger than expected accommodating 6 of us plus 2 dogs easily. A big thank you to the owners for making our holiday one to remember.
Lovely house ideal for our break in an area we enjoy visiting. Easily able to contact owner ahead of arrival. House was really cosy and had everything we needed. Many thanks Maria&Mike
Thank you David and Sharon for another wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage. We have already booked up for 2023. Julie, Paul and Boley
Sharon
Lovely property with a great secure garden. The hot tub is fabulous with a nice view. We've been before years ago and it's still as good. We love it.
Excellent property with exceptional facilities true home from home. Beautiful decor with some lovely pictures, well set out. It was a lovely surprise to find everything you need for a trip to the fabulous Black Rock Sands beach just there for your use. Beach Bar is wonderful too especially if you have little ones very good food. Highly recommended cottage & location is great too.

Excellent location,beautiful house
Absolutely lovely, home from home. Very clean and well equipped. Would definitely like to stay here again.
Lovely house, private yet close to the lovely beach. Really convenient location. Facilities great. Kitchen very well equipped. Very comfortable and room to spread out if it happens to rain. The view from the hot tub of the hills was lovely. A great, relaxing holiday.
Joanne
The property was lovely and well equipped with everything you could of imagined and more. Lovely and clean and well presented.
An absolutely beautiful, comfortable luxurious home from home. The owners have a very special cottage and they have made sure that everything you need is there. We loved the space, the peace, the hot tub and the general level of quality about the place. We have already booked again for next year!
The house was outstanding. Loved our stay here, the house literally has everything you could need. The welcome pack was lovely too. The area is lovely too really close to beach. A lot of restaurants and tourist attractions werent open with it been January but that was ok as we did lots of walking on the beach and drove out to surrounding villages to see what they had to offer. Definitely want to visit again in summer and see what else it has to offer
Stayed over New Year, party of 6,plus 2 dogs. Fantastic cottage, lovely and cosy especially when log burner on. Underfloor heating kept us warm also. Lots of lovely goodies on arrival, consisting of choccies, biscuits, Baileys, Prosecco, mince pies and more. Also a welcome pack with washing up liquid and general items. So so welcome. After morning walk on beach, into hot tub, then food and drinks in well equipped kitchen. Then relax in chrismassy lounge with roaring log fire or conservatory for evening star gazing. Such a fantastic end to a chaotic year. Would definitely recommend. Ideal for walks in local area. Little shop opposite .. was not open all the time but as it was New Year we were not surprised. Will definitely return.
Richard
Lovely place too stay .
The cottage was absolutely beautiful and clean. We were very impressed when we arrived and the feeling continued until we left. There was a welcome pack waiting of us on arrival and we thought the decor and style of the place was fantastic. For one week we had a really comfortable stay and enjoyed every minute. The weather was bad a couple of days but we stayed cosy and warm and really enjoyed are stay.
Rowena
Fantastic holiday home. Very clean and comfortable, fabulous well kitted out kitchen. Garden, hot tub and conservatory were all great. Lots of thoughtful touches by the owners. Would definitely book again.
Elisabeth
We have been really impressed with the communication from Sykes, updates, reminders and then from the owners about little extras we might need to bring. On arrival we were welcomed by a bag of useful goodies to start our break with.. The chocolate biscuits were especially a hit with 3 teens!! Everything you could ever have thought you might need was there to borrow, picnic blanket, books, back pack, pegs. So much of a home from home, we felt relaxed, all slept well in the comfortable beds and genuinely had a lovely holiday. Many Thanks.
Everything required is provided and the location is beautiful
The house was very well equipped, clean, comfortable a real home from home. Hot tub and garden with view was fabulous. The addition of woodburners proved too much to resist for my caveman husband and our friend...they just had to light it!! Underfloor heating was a bonus though the weather was so good we turned it right down. All in all a lovely place to relax and recharge our batteries.
Gloria
Just an excellent cottage all round
Great cottage ideal location if want to access lynn peninsula and Snowdonia great for dogs safe will continue to visit
It's a lovely cottage. We have just come back.booked for next year. hot tub great. Lovely and quiet.roll on next year.

We have just returned from our 5th year running at this beautiful home from home, even the bad weather didnt spoil our week as we were warm and cosy thanks to the wood burner. This property is comfortable, very well maintained and there was a lovely welcome box waiting for us with all the essentials needed for the current COVID requirements plus tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. The Ffestiniog railway and Llama trekking were enjoyed by all, along with crabbing at low tide and long beach walks with the dogs. The hot tub got plenty of use despite the weather and we are looking forward to returning again next year.
This is a beautiful cottage in a location that's perfect for Snowdonia, the 3 Zip World sites, Porthmadog steam trains, Port Merion and Caernarfon Castle. The beach is about 10 mins walk, or 15 mins to an even better, secluded sandy cove. The owners have been very thoughtful in what is provided a special welcome pack included tea, coffee, biscuits and various things to make sure we felt confident about everything being covidfree. In addition, the cottage had been fogged, then cleaned and a set of crockery and cutlery sterilised in the dishwasher. All this felt very reassuring, without being obtrusive. Although local cafes etc were open for takeaways, slots had to be booked well in advance, so we really appreciated the kitchen, which was very fullyequipped for self catering. We enjoyed the garden, with its lovely views and hot tub, and the spacious cottage gave our teenage children the space and wifi! they needed for downtime. This is an ideal cottage for a relaxing stay, with easy access to local attractions.
Robert
The cottage was a light airy warm home. It was so well equipped and was in an ideal location. The hot tub was an added luxury. The weather was an added bonus. We had a fantastic holiday
Lovely cottage in great location near to the beach. The cottage was one of the nicest we have stayed in for a while. And at a good price.
Great cottage everything we needed ideal position for exploring Llyn Peninsula ... Great cottage everything we needed ideal position for exploring Llyn Peninsula and Snowdonia great for dogs too close to beach and shop and Porthmadog have rebooked for next year
We have stayed here before and it is still an enjoyable destination any time of the year.
