Silk Mill House Reviews

Vicky
Lovely cottage. Welcome basket was a great addition. Plenty of space for us - 5 girls (one cancelled) to chill and have breakfast and a few glasses of wine etc. Very centrally based
Karen
The cottage was amazing and in such beautiful surroundings. We can't thank the owners enough for such a brilliant stay, the accomodation was excellent and we needed for nothing. The welcome pack was a lovely gesture and enjoyed the little treats on our walk. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, especially after our walk.
Hayley
Such a beautiful place to stay. The views from the living room were amazing. Better than the pictures. The host was fabulous. Hot tub was lovely once heated up. Thank you for having us.

Everything about Silk Mill House says 'quality', from the warm welcome on arrival to the high specification of the fixtures and fittings, which made our stay so comfortable. Our hosts were very responsive to our questions, too, which shows the attention to detail that has been invested in every element of the house.
Nisha
We were wowed by the property as soon as we entered. You can't fault the cleanliness, amenities and small touches around the whole property. The owners had left a hamper full of goodies from the local shops which we did not expect. I highly recommend booking this property for your next stay

A fantastic property in a brilliant location. Loads of space and beautifully finished. The view from the top floor across the town and to the hills is so lovely. Great pubs and places to eat right on the doorstep and everyone was so friendly. Really lovely walks straight from the door.

A very lovely and quirky property with all amenities you could ask for. The furnishings, equipment and linens were quality and the beds very comfortable! The hot tub was so lovely too. Would definitely recommend to friends and would return if we were visiting the area. Well done the owners.

Tanja
To sum up the Silk Mill in one word it would have to be WOW! We loved it. Everything has been thought of and considered. What an amazing place. The decor is gorgeous. You can tell that the owners really love this place with no expense spared on the finishing touches. Wirksworth is a lovely quaint place. The Hope and Anchor do a lovely Sunday dinner . If there was a downside for folk it would be the amount of stairs but this was not an issue for us. The views were worth it. Just LOVED it!!!!
Helen
This is the second time I have stayed here. The attention to detail is fabulous. The breakfast basket was delicious and that Jam was amazing. We all really enjoyed the stay. 5 plus all round. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Amazing property with very high quality furnishings. It has everything you need and very comfortable. The location is great with lots to do and also very nice pubs and resturants close by. The hot tub I'd a brilliant addition and we used this a lot over the weekend. Highly recommend and would love to come back.
Rachel
A beautiful house with lovely furnishings and fittings. Separate towels for showers and the hot tub and even specific drinks glasses for the hot tub which was great! A surprise hamper of goodies from a local shop was a great treat. Having the door code made it easy as a group to split up as we didnt need to worry about who had the key. The kitchen was very well equipped and bedrooms were lovely and comfy. A great stay!
Steven
A lovely property in a very interesting place. Wirksworth was a real surprise. Loved walking around the little pathways between the houses. Also enjoyed walking along the Cromford canal as naturally that was level amongst a multitude of uphill walks. Im sure the walks in the uphill areas were lovely but it was 39 degrees! Ideally placed for visitin g Chatsworth and Bakewell. The property did get very hot but it was exceptional weather. Not good for those with mobility issues as many stairs.
Douglas
The perfect place for a great Holiday. An exceptional Property with everything you could need.

Andrew
This is a very well appointed house in a secluded cul de sac close to the centre of Wirksworth. It was very clean and had been recently decorated. A great deal of thought had gone into the layout and amenities. I would highly recommend this high end property.
Natalie
Fantastic! We had a fabulous time staying here. The house was spotless and decorated to a very high standard. The addition of the Christmas tree and hot tub were the icing on the cake! The house is a footsfall away from local amenities including pubs, restaurants, takeaways and groceries shops. The owner provided a lovely hamper for us and we needn t have worried about bringing additional cleaning and toiletry supplies. A great location for exploring the beautiful towns and scenes of the Peaks.
Mihir
