Fantastic property. We stayed in freezing cold weather and the property was very warm. Views from house are amazing. The house is spacious and very clean. Highly recommended.

What a stunning property in such a beautiful setting. So relaxing to be able to have dogs there with an enclosed garden and no rules posted everywhere about what they can and can't do! It was clean, warm and cosy and well appointed throughout. We had such a lovely stay.
Marc
What a house and what a location!! Truely stunning. We fell in love with this place and the mountain walks. Will be using again. Just make sure you get there via the instructions given and not from the north road from Conniston!! Its doable but not recommended.
Paul
What an absolutely spectacular place to stay. The views are breathtaking and the barn is fantastic. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable sofas. A great place to switch off and relax. Wouldnt hesitate to come here again.
David
Fantastic location and a stunning property. Access is 'interesting' but you quickly get used to it and once you get there views are well worth it. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced-in garden with loads of space to run around and chase balls. Hot tub is a very nice addition and a number of our party spent a significant time in it. Property is large enoughRead more and configured in such a way that even with 5 adults and 3 dogs we were all able to have our 'own' space if we wanted it. Hide

Ideal family accommodation. Plenty of room and comfortable seating areas. Hot tub was a bonus after long walks around the Lakes sight seeing. Stunning location, spacious, well equipped and generally comfortable. Group of eight adults, and we would visit again. There have been some negative comments for this property, many of which I would label as unfair. The beds are marmite! Half our group were fine with them, half hated them! Water pressure can be a bit finicky, but it all works. KitchRead moreen and general facilities are all adequate for the property. ALL GOOD FROM US Hide

The house is gorgeous with lots of space, perfect for families. If you’ve got a little one, a travel cot might be handy. Lots of TVs, log burnersand bathrooms too!
Emma
This place was lovely - super clean, with plenty of towels and comfy bedding. The rooms are spacious but still feel cosy, especially with the wood fires. Definitely recommend it! Cheers!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. The host was lovely, making sure we felt welcome. Definitely recommend it!

Honestly, we were pretty disappointed. The outdoor furniture was falling apartand the place wasn’t very clean-especially the bedroom windows and mezzanine, which were really grimy. The hot tub hadn’t been cleaned after the last guestsand it was full of grit and sand. The cleaner was still there when we arrived and stayed until nearly 5:45pm on departure day, which seemed odd since she was there at 9:25am. Plus, lots of drawers and handles were brokenand the downstairs shower was unusable. The glass tables in the living room felt dangerous. The view was amazing, but we probably wouldn’t stay again. Wouldn’t recommend.
Claire
We loved the stunning location, perfect for a peaceful escape. The place has a real grandeur, though it’s a shame some maintenance isn’t up to scratch - plastic wine glasses, low-quality towelsand bedding let it down a bit. The showers, TVsand doors could do with fixing too. It’s got potential, but these little things really impact the overall vibe. Still, we enjoyed our stay!
Clara
What a smashing place in a wonderful spot in a fabulous part of the country! The views are greatand there's loads of space. The kitchen is well equippedand the bedrooms are a good size, all with en-suites. Plus, the hot tub is clean and hot! It's lovely and warm with underfloor heatingand there are fires too if you fancy that. We enjoyed great walks straight from the house, so no need to drive, plus there's a good pub not too far away.
Tom
We absolutely loved the location but have to say this property is quite dated. The beds are cheap and really uncomfortable, so if you’re after a good night's sleep, we suggest looking elsewhere. The washing machine and dryer are out of orderand the bathrooms are half finished with a few showers that just don’t work. There were no outside bins providedand the entrance to the property grounds looks like a landfill since the bags haven’t been collected. Also, there are loose and broken tiles in the lounge. Honestly, we think it’s best to book somewhere else, as this just isn’t worth it!
Margaret
Absolutely stunning rural location. You never tire of the view. Great outdoor space. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and eating by the barbeque. Fabulous kitchen space. The living room was perfect. The master bedroom suite was a real wow. Loved watching the lambs in the surrounding fields. The bird life was lovely; we heard cuckoos and owls and saw woodpeckers and many small birds. Great selection of books and dvds too!
Lily
The setting is absolutely beautiful and so idyllic! It's a bit isolated, but honestly, it's worth every bit of the drive. The large enclosed garden was perfect for our three dogs to roam around in. The property is really spacious and designed brilliantly to make the most of those fantastic views over the countryside. We would definitely stay again and thoroughly enjoyed our break.

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 10 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 12 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 18 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 19 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 21 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 24 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
