Jim
We had such a cosy stay. The house is clean and really well kitted out - the log fire and hot tub were such a bonus. Lots to explore in the area.
Andrew
This was our second stay (first was back in 2017). It is cosy place, well-located for Coniston fells and Grizedale. Well-equipped and maintained. Hot tub is an absolute delight after a long day of walking. Highly recommended.
Julie
Somewhere is a beautiful cottage, and although remote, it is a fantastic location for anyone looking to get away from it all. Only 1.5 miles scenic walk to the centre of Coniston. Stunning views too. The cottage is done to a high standard and is well equipped. We would certainly recommend.
Tracy

Gary
This cottage was amazing. The location was just perfect. We spent a lot of time paddle boarding down at Lake Coniston just a few minutes walk away. Loved hiking up to Old man Coniston, views were unreal. We managed a cheeky pub crawl around the beautiful village. The hot tub was ideal for relaxing then sitting down infront of the log burner with a bottle of red. Loved every second spending our time here and would definitely come back. Highly recommended.
John
Just wanted to say loved everything about Somewhere the cottage was perfect. We did a good few fells and mountains so the hot tub was ideal after a long days trekking.Bit of a walk to the village but that didnt bother us.Would definitely stay again lovely week sorry to leave.

Tim
We had a lovely week at Somewhere, fantastic location, so peaceful, everything we needed in the cottage, hot tub was brilliant, local area was alot quiter than the main lake district towns which was a nice change, plenty to do.
Simon
On opening the front door we were greeted with a warm and welcoming feeling, the kitchen area was beautifully set out had everything you need for a self catering holiday, sitting area was spacious and cosy around the log burner, the cottage had under floor heating and was more than enough to keep us warm. Bedroom is well portioned with plenty of dr awers and built in wardrobe, bathroom was opposite with shower over bath, lots of hot water for a relaxing bath. Plenty of windows to admire the view.
David
Lovely sized venue for a couple to take a break in. The property is well heated, the bed comfortable, the hottub relaxing (and suitably private) and situated in a nice quiet location to get out and about from.
Paul
The cottage was an absolute delight. Extremely well equipped and so cosy, we even had to turn the heating right down so we could use the log burner. We loved the location with it being away from the bustle of Coniston but close enough to walk to if you wanted. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

It's been lovely staying at Somewhere! The first time we came here was in 2012 and we've visited several times since. The last couple of years the cottage seemed to be getting a little bit worn down, but I think they fixed up a lot around it! The cottage was sparkling clean again and there even was a brand new Jacuzzi and couch. It was absolutely p erfect once again. It's definitely our favorite cottage to stay at in the entire UK. Loved it!
Kitty
A lovely little cottage in a fantastic location. The kitchen is well equipped and it is cosy. Great walks and rides from the door.
Jacky
Cottage was in a lovely position and had everything required for a comfortable stay. Hot tub we felt requires attention but owners manager did everything he could to rectify the problem and arranged a temporary tub
Jo
This is a truly glorious property in an excellent location. Everything you need for a very comfortable, well equipped stay. Hot tub and private garden much appreciated with the super weather we enjoyed. Walks from the door and from town centre - an easy 1.5 miles walk away. Good pubs, fine food at Swallows & Amazons restaurant, a 5 minute walk away on footpath opposite entrance, and tea shops, art galleries, museums all easily accessible by car or 505 bus. A marvellous way to spend a week.
neil
extremely clean and well equipped, also a great location with fantastic views. it was extremely hot weather when we stayed, but kept the blinds and curtains closed which helped. the hot tub was a blessing to cool down on a night. would definitely stay again...5 stars.
Sally

Steven
Lovely cottage. We found the location perfect for our needs. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. The hot tub was a bonus. All in all we had a lovely time.
Christine
This is a lovely, well-equipped cottage in a great location, remote and quiet which is exactly what we wanted, yet in walking distance to Coniston and the lake. The bed is very comfortable. The hot tub was great after a day of cycling, walking and sightseeing however be aware only one set of towels is provided for the week.
Karen
3rd - 10th June Had a wonderful week at Somewhere. Used the hot tub everyday after some great hikes. Had good dry weather. Had a couple of swims in our wetsuits in Coniston Water which is nearby, you can walk into town easily. Some breathtaking scenery on a 5 mile walk from the cottage up to grizedale forest and down to Brantwood House, 2 tea rooms en route! Would stay again, very peaceful. Take your own salt, pepper, oils, tea, coffee, sugar etc as nothing there. Good pub grub in the town!
Duncan
2nd year at this cottage so got to be right. Overall very good and more open in the local area as Covid lifts. Hot tub always a hit and used many times this time around. Caught the local bus to Keswick, nice adventure through the back roads and Hawkshead.

We highly recommend this venue, it has everything you could wish for, a fully functional kitchen, log fire, extremely comfy bed, shower & bath and lets not forget the hot tub. Venue is very modern and well looked after. Great location and less than 5min drive from the village & some fantastic pubs/restaurants. Old Man Coniston mountain is also 5min s drive away and you can clearly see from the venue. Great value for money. You honestly wont be disappointed.

Loved this spot - great location for exploring north east or south west Lake District. We arrived to some super thoughtful gifts of locally made goodies - lovely touch! The Hot Tub is amazing.
Susan
Fantastic cottage just a shame the hottub was unfortunately out of action, will love to return again sometime to use the tub & hopefully not get caught in torrential rain storms & flooding!! Location is just perfect, nice & secluded but not too far too walk to Coniston for shops & restaurants.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 6 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 12 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 14 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 16 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 21 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 22 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
