Willow House is well equipped, comfortable and stylish in a great location. The bedrooms are large with good quality bedding and towels. There is very generous heating and hot water and an AGA cooker, as well as a standard cooker. We particularly enjoyed eating in the spacious orangery and having a quiet garden to sit in. The lovely town of Richmon d is just 10 minutes away and The Dales and other attractive areas are easily accessible. I'd certainly recommend Willow House to future visitors.

The house was brilliant, modern, clean and more than sufficient for our party of 10 (there is space for 12). The location was great for a walk in to Richmond town centre, the host met us there with a key, gave us a walk round and showed us the various things we needed to be aware of (5 minutes maximum). perfect place to stay for a large family/grou ps.

Willow house is absolutely beautiful. 11 of us stayed to celebrate my Mums 60th birthday none of us could fault the house. The dining room/orangery is a stunning setting for a family meal. The location is great. The little town of Richmond is full of restaurants, bars, pubs & nice independent shops. We all wouldnt hesitate in staying again or recom mending the house to anyone. A really nice place to stay with everything provided that you would expect for self catering. Everybody in our party found their beds comfortable and all slept well! We made a request for a couple of fresh towels and the next day we were offered a full set of replacements. The only downside was a broken drawer in the dishwasher which meant getting pots cleaned for a big group might take two attempts as it would jam the rotary jets. However Im sure this will get dealt with by the owners.

We chose Willow House to celebrate 50 years of meeting each other at college After seeing the house on the My Holiday Cottages site we thought it was just right, it looked amazing-there were 4 of us and we all like our own room with en-suite and plenty of luxury living space The Welcome Pack was a pint of milk The living spaces need a lot of TLC to bring it up to the spec advertised. No TV or radio. Disappointing , its really a hen party house! Over all we felt we didnt get value for money

about 11 Miles

This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire. Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour. You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals. Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.

Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT

about 18 Miles

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family. The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower. For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel. Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too. If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.

Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY

about 22 Miles

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families. Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit. The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
