Harford Barn Reviews

Emma Blake
The space is really clever and beautifully decorated; it immediately felt welcoming. We appreciated the thoughtful touches and the clever use of space. Can’t wait to come back, definitely!
Alex
We had a fantastic stay at this converted barn - perfect for a proper escape. The place is beautifully decorated and well stockedand the layout is quite unique, especially with three floors. Our little boy loved the third floor; it felt like his own little hideout where he could watch TV comfortably. The hot tub in the garden was an added treat. Just a heads up, the lane leading up to the barn is a bit narrow, so drive carefully. Overall, we loved it and would definitely return!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was perfect and the host was lovely! Thanks!
Emma
We had a lovely stay at the cottage! The kitchen was well-equipped and the living room super comfy. The snug in the eaves was perfect for relaxing. Shower facilities worked welland it was nice having options for dining - either in the kitchen or upstairs. The garden’s a small enclosed courtyard, but we also enjoyed the field nearby. WiFi and the smart TV were reliable, which was great since our mobile signal was pretty weak. The lane to the cottage is a bit narrowand the drive to the barn a tad bumpy, but nothing too bad!
Rachel
Honestly, we found the layout pretty inconvenient since the kitchen is downstairs and the lounge upstairs. It meant we had to buy a tray just to carry drinks up and down. The bathroom lacked a vanity unit, so we had to leave toilet bags on the floor - not ideal. Also, the garden was tiny, more like a small patchand there’s no way to walk directly into nature from the property. No windows with views either, which was a bit disappointing. Still, it wasn’t all bad, but these things did bug us.
Emma
We had a lovely stay at this cottage in late May. The place was so peaceful and perfect for relaxing. We really enjoyed watching the animals roam freely around the grounds; it was nice to have them on a lead without worry since the garden was secure and spacious for them to play. The cottage itself was gorgeous - plenty of space and beautifully decorated. The shower was a real highlight, with powerful, hot water every time. The kitchen had everything we neededand the bedrooms were comfy and stylish. Totally worth the price, we’d definitely return!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay here. The barn felt super cosy and well stocked, making it feel like a proper home from home. I loved reliving my fire lighting days with the wood burner - it was great! The place was spotlessand we slept so well. Watching the peacock strut around, along with the sheep and poultry, was a lovely touch. The owner was really friendly too!
Emma
The cottage is in a beautiful spot, perfect for exploring Dartmoor on foot or by car. We loved it!

We've stayed in many cottages beforeand usually there's a welcome pack with basics like tea, breadand milk, which was missing here. Luckily, we had our own essentials. There was no salt or pepper, which was a bit disappointing. The cream tea was lovely, with enough jam and cream for both scones. The barn was spotless and beautifully decorated, though the stairs were quite steep-not great for older guests. It is a bit remote, but overall, we enjoyed our stay despite these small quirks!
James
We had an amazing week! The place is super spacious with high ceilings, perfect for relaxing. The walled garden was great for our dogand the owners were really friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot we’d return to without a doubt!
James
The barn is stunning, set in such a peaceful spot away from the hustle. The farm vibe with camping options makes it special.
Jason
We had a lovely stay at this beautifully renovated barn in South Devon. It’s so peaceful and quiet, just what we needed to unwind. The place was spotless and well-equipped for all seasons, making it perfect for longer visits. The owner was friendly and left her contact details if we needed anything. Highly recommend!
Ben
Really enjoyed our stay! The kitchen was well equipped, comfy furniture made it homelyand the heating kept us warm during chilly spring evenings.
Oliver
We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is spacious and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. It’s well kitted out, though we did have a small hiccup with the heating and hot water when we arrived, but it was sorted out swiftly. The owner was super friendly. The rooms felt a bit dark, but that’s just the building’s design. The campsite showers nearby might be noisy later in the year, but it wasn’t an issue during our visit.
James
Really enjoyed our stay here! The barn is lovely, super clean and modern. Views of Dartmoor are stunning, plus peaceful woodland walks for the dog. Easy access to the A38 was a bonus!
Fiona
We recently stayed at Harford Barn and honestly, it was just what we needed. The setting is so peaceful, with Dartmoor right in the backyard and easy access to the South Devon coast. The barn’s tucked away down a quiet laneand it has everything you'd want for a relaxed holiday. We loved seeing the pig and hens roaming around. Perfect for our group of four adults and the dog - there’s plenty of space. We spent our days walking and evenings cosy by the wood burner. Definitely recommend for a chill getaway!
