Lakeland View Reviews

Nice cottage situated near to the centre of Keswick opposite the Pencil Museum. 4 ensuite double bedrooms, a kitchen with all necessary facilities and a large sitting room. Parking for 2 cars, a third small one at a pinch. Very clean, warm and comfortable.

Great location. Only a few minutes walk into Keswick. Lovely spacious rooms and the 2 parking spaces were ideal. We loved the hot tub!
Excellent response from the owner, a few glitches. Really close to Keswick town centre, room for 3 cars. Low ceilings, not great if you are tall, some of the photos give an inaccurate impression of ceiling height.
Lovely house, situated within easy walking distance to Keswick. The host had left us a beautiful welcome hamper full of all sorts of goodies. The house has everything you need, we made Christmas dinner for 11 and had plenty of utensils, plates, pans ect. The kids loved the hot tub, parking for 3 cars! We were contacted by the host after arriving to make sure everything was ok, we even had a visit from a lovely lady to make sure we were settled in and knew how everything worked. Would definitely recommend this property and hopefully we will return for another visit at some point.
The property was very clean and well maintained. It was comfortable but all en suites were too small. We were met by a number of local residents and businesses who were very suspicious of our behaviour and party members, what we were doing and where we were parking. It was obvious that previous lets by Sykes had been totally inappropriate for this property and location.

Great location, beautiful cottage, clean and tidy. However, we were hasseled non stop by automated messages and phone calls threatening us with regards to noice levels. We had four young children, two four year olds, seven and ten, who went in the hot tub with and adult on the first day, early evening, they were excited and made low level noice. The continuous messages and calls really distressed me as the company threatened us with removal from the property and charges. The children were all in bed and fast asleep by 830pm We really felt this was totally out of order and an invasion of our privacy and rights. Later on that evening the adults sat outside as it was lovely weather. Once again I was bombarded with messages and automated calls. Having booked and paid a lot of money for this cottage I was extremely upset and it actually spoilt my stay there. We were spending time with family that we hadn't seen for a long time so it was even more upsetting. The second night we went out for the day and most of the evening. Four adults came back with the children and put them to bed. We then sat in the lounge to chat and have a drink. Our older children stayed out. The messages and nasty calls started again! There was absolutely no noise. Everyone was in bed, most asleep by 1pm then we heard a loud bang on one of the windows at the front of the cottage then the door. A security guard was stood outside. We asked him if he could hear any noise and he said no, apologised and left. It is an understatement to say the least how extremely upset and anxious we were about even being in the cottage. I am also worried that money will be taken from my credit card as it was threatened. I have to say that our weekend was spoilt because of this.
This was a very spacious and welcoming base for our family stay. The bedrooms were a good size, as was the living area, and we were really happy with the wellequipped kitchen. It's a big plus that there is free parking available for three cars, and the whole family loved the hot tub. We would be really happy if we were fortunate enough to stay here again.

Good service from owner prior to stay, called to confirm that they do have a hot tub and also provided some information on a local event that was taking place at the time of the stay Some very minor cosmetic issues but nothing that would affect the stay so decided did not need reporting, not everywhere is perfect! It is a shame that there is not much privacy around the back by the hot tub understandable due to where the property is situated, however they have done a good job and the moveable screen did help us feel a bit more comfortable Would definitely recommend the property to anyone wanting to visit the Lake District. Keswick is a great place for walkers and this property would serve a large group well.
We were very happy with the property it is in a great location on the edge of the town just a couple of minutes walk away. It was very clean, The beds are very comfortable and lovely bed linen. The property was well equipped with everything you need apart from a tin opener. We did have a little mix up with parking but got it sorted straight away. We were celebrating a 60th birthday so I contacted the owner to see if they could arrange some banners balloons and I have to say it was no problem so Id like to thank them for that. Our party of 10 all said they would definitely return and would recommend it to others!!

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 6 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 9 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 12 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 21 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 29 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
