Saddleback Reviews

Emma
Really peaceful spot with stunning scenery. The hot tub's a decent size, perfect for a couple. The new dishwasher’s a nice touch, but probably not ideal for four adults.
Jamie
We really enjoyed our stay at Saddleback! The hot tub was fantasticand having private parking right outside made things so much easier. The peaceful setting was perfect, though the single beds felt a bit narrow for us.
Alex
Tranquil stay in beautiful surroundings
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy lodge. It’s perfect for a small family and offers plenty of space. The hot tub was a lovely bonus! The only downside was the wifi - it was a bit unreliable, which was a bit frustrating when we wanted to stream and plan our days. Still, a great base to explore from!
Jamie
Very peaceful spot, loved the hot tub’s size, great stay!
Emma Carter
We really enjoyed our stay, although having a car made exploring easier. Taxis are affordable if needed. It’d be perfect to have a few food or drink spots within walking distance, but honestly, we’re already planning to return to that lovely cabin!
Sam
We stayed seven nights and honestly, it’s not what it used to be. The mattress was stained and the place wasn’t very clean. Such a shame because it used to be decent. Very disappointing overall.
Emily
Perfect for a short break! We had a wonderful long weekend at Saddleback. The location is fantastic, close to everything yet quiet and clean. There’s no washing machine or dishwasher, which wasn’t an issue for a few days, but personally we’d like access to them for a longer stay. We enjoyed the hot tub; it was nice and relaxingand we slept so well that we totally lost track of time. The views over the countryside are lovely. The owners are around if you need anything and respond quickly. Overall, our time there was just great.
Tom
This is a lovely spot for a nice getaway! The pub and other cottages nearby mean you're not entirely secluded, but there's enough privacy thanks to the adequate fencing. The hot tub was bigger than we expectedand the view from the bedroom was really pleasant. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. Plus, there’s a weber barbecue mac hine which is a great bonus if you bring your own coal. We highly recommend visiting the Valley of Rocks on a nice day, along with Hartland Quay and Westward Ho Beach!
Emma
This was a lovely place to stay, just the perfect size for our family of four. It was a great base to explore Westward Ho, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe (amazing Sri Lankan curries on Barracane Beach). There are three properties on the site, but we didn't feel overlooked at all; it still felt really private. The Webber BBQ was great, though there wasn't a dishwasher or washing machine. The beach definitely wasn't within walking distance with kids (5 and 8) but was only a really short drive. Lovely place, would totally recommend.
Rachel
Overall, it was an okay place to stay but we wouldn't book again because of the location. The lane was super narrow, just one car wideand the hedging was so high that we couldn't see what was coming towards us! It claimed to be close to the beachand while it wasn't too far to drive into Westward Ho, walking up that narrow lane was a bit risky. The hot tub and decking out back were definitely the highlights. It's a pity that the Pig on the Hill was closed; we only found out two weeks before our arrival!
Oliver
What a lovely location! The hot tub was excellent. We were really looking forward to dining at the Pig on the Hill, but sadly, it was closed.
Lucy
We absolutely loved this holiday cottage! In fact, we booked for next year before we even left! The location is amazing — so quiet and peaceful. It's within walking distance to the beachand having a weekly pass at Northam Burrows was brilliant for evening strolls. The hot tub was just fantastic and really appreciated after those long walks. Can't wait to go back!
Lucy
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage, which came with great facilities like a hot tub and a gas BBQ. The views were nice, although they were slightly spoiled by a tatty caravan in the adjoining field. It's dog friendly and makes for a good base to explore the north, like Westwood Ho and Woolacombe, as well as the south, including Clovelly. The Pig on the Hill pub is shut at the moment, but we're hoping it opens soon! The Thatched House down the road is a great substitute for now.
Claire
Great place to stay, really well equipped and comfy! We found it super relaxing and had a lovely time.
Lily
A lovely cottageand we really enjoyed our stay, especially the hot tub in the evenings! The location is so tranquil and peaceful.
Linda
We found a compact cabin in a beautiful location. The hot tub was a lovely addition and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. It’s a great, quiet place to explore North Devon!
Jordan
What a fantastic little spot! We had the absolute best time, the facilities were just perfect, the hot tub was a dream and everything was exceptionally clean! Thanks for such a lovely stay!
Oliver
A fantastic break made better with good weather! We recommend The Thatched Inn for meals, plus it was really nice having a hot tub to relax in after a long day out with the dog. The place was very clean and well-kept, although we did have a bit of an issue with the shower pressure. We will definitely book again and recommend this accommodation!
Claire
We found it to be spacious and comfortable, with peaceful and quiet surroundings. The hot tub was definitely a treat after a long day!
