Saddleback Reviews

Johanna
Lovely quiet location with great views. Now has a dishwasher. The hot tub was a good size. Great for two guests but maybe not for four adults.
Chris
Saddleback is a lovely place to stay. Hot tub a very nice feature, private parking right outside and a lovely quiet location. One small point to note is that the single beds are quite narrow.
Sean
Lovely peaceful stay, nice surroundings
Julia
Lovely little lodge, clean and enough space for a little family of 4. Great base for exploring area. Lovely having the hot tub. Wifi was a bit sketchy, which was a big deal for us, even though we were on holiday, we like to have this for our online viewing and planning of days.
Cael
Nice lodge in secluded place. Decent size hot tub
Sandra
Its a lovely stay better if you drive to het to places but taxis are cheap enough to get to places nearby. Would be ideal to have a place to eat/drink within walking distance. Will definitely be going back to the beautiful cabin!
Jonathan
Im sure saddleback was lovely when opened however its not up to scratch now. 1200 paid for seven nights to sleep on a urine stained mattress is not acceptable Poor cleanliness Overall very disappointing
Tanika
Hot tub was nice and bigger than expected. Nice location, private parking. No freezer, just a fridge. We had a lovely long weekend stay.
Victoria
Ideal for a short break. My family had a lovely long weekend staying at saddleback. Its a great location close to everything, quiet and clean. No washing machine or dishwasher which wasnt a problem for a few days but would personally Id want access to them if staying a bit longer. Enjoyed the hot tub nice a relaxing, slept well and totally lost tra ck of time. Lovely views over the country side. Owners on hand if you need anything and respond quickly Overall we had a lovely time.
Rahi
This is a perfect spot for if you want a nice getaway, there is a pub and other cottages around so you are not completely secluded but you get enough privacy as there are adequate fencing. Hot tub was bigger than we expected and view from bedroom was quite nice. Kitchen had plenty of equipment - everything u need. There is also a weber barbecue mac hine which is a big bonus if you bring your own coal. I would recommend a visit to Valley of Rocks on a nice day, Hartland Quay and Westward Ho Beach!
Laura
This was a lovely place to stay, just the perfect size for our family of four. It was a great base to explore Westward Ho, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe (amazing Sri Lankan curries on barracane beach). There are 3 properties on the site but we weren't overlooked at all, it still felt very private. Great Webber bbq, no dishwasher or washing machine t hough. The beach definitely wasn't within walking distance with kids (5 and 8) but was only a very short drive. Lovely place, would recommend.
Joanne
Lovely lodge. Extremely clean and well equipped (other than the lack of any freezer facilities). Excellent location close to Westward Ho and surrounding villages. Well worth a visit!
Lesley
Lovely and clean throughout. Could have done with a mattress topper as could feel the springs in the bed and also a newer pillow as although there were plenty they were of poor quality.
Clair
Generally ok place to stay but wouldnt book again due to the location. The lane was very narrow only one car wide and hedging so high you could not see what was coming towards you! Also it stated close to beach and although it was not far to drive into Westward Ho, you wouldnt want to walk it up the narrow lane. Hot tub and back area decking was th e best bit. Shame the Pig on the Hill was closed, we werent told until 2weeks before we arrived!
Patrick
Lovely location hot tub excellent sadly the pig on the hill restaurant closed
Chloe
We loved this holiday cottage so much, we had already rebooked for next year before we had even left! Amazing location, so quiet and peaceful. Was walking distance to the beach and a weekly pass at Northam Burrows was great as could drive down for evening walks. The hot tub was amazing, and soo appreciated after long walks Cant wait to return!
Emma
Lovely cottage with great facilities (hot tub & gas BBQ) & lovely views (slightly spoiled by view of tatty caravan in an adjoining field ). Dog friendly & a good base for exploring north (Westwood Ho & Woolacoombe) & south (Clovelly). Pig on the Hill pub currently shut, but hopefully will open soon so the Thatched House down the road is a great sub stitute
Elaine
Lovely clean cabin for a weekend break. Three properties on site, but each one is very private and not overlooked. Cabin had everything you could want for a quiet weekend away. Outside area has seating and jacuzzi that was great to use. Walking distance to Westward Ho! is about 25 minutes to the beach or a 5 minute drive. Close enough to be used fo r daily visits to Clovelly, Bude, Barnstaple, Braunton, etc.
Lynne
Great accommodation and very well equipped. Very relaxing.
Andrea
Lovely cottage, we enjoyed our stay particularly the hot tub in the evenings. Tranquil location
Maria
A compact cabin in a beautiful location. The hot tub was a lovely addition and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. A great, quiet place to explore North Devon.
Taylor
What an amazing little place. We had the absolute best time, the facilities were perfect, the hot tub was a dream and everything was exceptionally clean! Thank you for such a lovely stay!
Paul
Excellent stay. Really clean and well presented lodge. Would recommend
Jeremy
A fantastic break made better with good weather, recommend Thatched Inn to eat at, really good having hot tub to come back to after a long day out with the dog, very clean and well kept, only issue is the pressure from the shower, will book again and recommend this accommodation
Dawn
Spacious and comfortable, peaceful and quiet surroundings. Hot tub certainly a treat at the end of day.
